THE HOLY BIBLE Authorized King James

Exodus (Author Moses)

3:2And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

19:16And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.

19:18And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.

19:19And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.

20:18And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.

20:19And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

24:10And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.

24:17And the sight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel.

33:18And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

33:19And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

33:20And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

33:22And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

33:23And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

34:5And the LORD descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the LORD.

34:29And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

34:30And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

34:31And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.

34:32And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

34:33And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.

34:34But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

34:35And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

40:34Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

40:35And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

Deuteronomy (Author Moses)

4:11And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

4:12And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

4:33Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

4:36Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

5:5(I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to shew you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

5:24And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.

5:25Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the LORD our God any more, then we shall die.

7:21Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.

10:17For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

28:58If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;

33:2And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

33:26There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.

2 Samuel (Author Compiled by Isaiah from records of Samuel, David, Nathan, and Gad.)

22:1And David spake unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

22:2And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

22:3The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

22:4I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

22:5When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

22:6The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

22:7In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

22:8Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

22:9There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

22:10He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

22:11And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

22:12And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

22:13Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

22:14The LORD thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

22:15And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

22:16And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

22:17He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

22:18He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

22:19They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the LORD was my stay.

22:20He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

22:21The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22:22For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

22:23For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

22:24I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

22:25Therefore the LORD hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

22:26With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

22:27With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

22:28And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

22:29For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness.

22:30For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

22:31As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

22:32For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God?

22:33God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

22:34He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

22:35He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

22:36Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

22:37Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

22:38I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

22:39And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

22:40For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

22:41Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

22:42They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

22:43Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

22:44Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

22:45Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

22:46Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

22:47The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

22:48It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me,

22:49And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

22:50Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

22:51He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

1 Kings (Author Compiled by Isaiah and Jeremiah from records of Nathan, Gad, Iddo, Ahijah, Jehu and others.)

19:12And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

1 Chronicles (Author Compiled by Isaiah and Ezra from records of Nathan, Gad, Iddo, Ahijah, Jehu and others.)

16:24Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.

16:25For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

Job (Author Job and/or Moses)

9:32For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.

9:33Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

13:11Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?

22:12Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!

25:3Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?

35:5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.

35:6If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?

35:7If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?

37:4After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.

37:5God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.

37:22Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.

Psalms (Author Moses, David, Solomon, Asaph, Heman, Ethan, sons of Korah, compiled by Ezra)

8:9O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

18:7Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

18:8There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

18:9He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

18:10And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

18:11He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

18:12At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

18:13The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

18:14Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

18:15Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

19:1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

19:2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

19:3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

19:4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

24:8Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

24:9Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

24:10Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

29:2Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

29:3The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.

29:4The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

46:10Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

57:5Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

57:11Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

68:24They have seen thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.

72:18Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.

72:19And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

76:4Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.

96:3Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

96:4For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

96:6Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

96:7Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

97:2Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

97:3A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

97:4His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

97:5The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

97:6The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

97:9For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

102:16When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.

102:22When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

104:31The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

106:8Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

113:4The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.

145:5I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

145:12To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of his kingdom.

Isaiah (Author Isaiah)

1:24Therefore saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies:

2:10Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty.

6:1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

6:2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

6:3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

6:4And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

6:5Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

12:6Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

24:23Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

26:15Thou hast increased the nation, O LORD, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified: thou hadst removed it far unto all the ends of the earth.

28:5In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,

29:23But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.

30:30And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

33:5The LORD is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with judgment and righteousness.

33:10Now will I rise, saith the LORD; now will I be exalted; now will I lift up myself.

35:2It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

40:5And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

43:7Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

43:21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

44:23Sing, O ye heavens; for the LORD hath done it: shout, ye lower parts of the earth: break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and glorified himself in Israel.

48:9For my name's sake will I defer mine anger, and for my praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

48:11For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it: for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

49:3And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

49:26And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

52:10The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

55:9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

57:15For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

60:1Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

60:2For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

60:6The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.

60:19The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

60:20Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.

60:21Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.

61:3To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

62:3Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.

63:12That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?

63:14As a beast goeth down into the valley, the Spirit of the LORD caused him to rest: so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name.

66:1Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?

66:2For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

66:18For I know their works and their thoughts: it shall come, that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.

Jeremiah (Author Jeremiah)

13:11For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.

17:12A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.

33:9And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.

Ezekiel (Author Ezekiel)

1:26And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone: and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

1:27And I saw as the colour of amber, as the appearance of fire round about within it, from the appearance of his loins even upward, and from the appearance of his loins even downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and it had brightness round about.

1:28As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake.

3:12Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place.

3:23Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face.

8:4And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

20:14But I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out.

20:44And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's sake, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

36:22Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

36:23And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

43:4And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.

43:5So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.

Habakkuk (Author Habakkuk)

3:4And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.

3:6He stood, and measured the earth: he beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow: his ways are everlasting.

13:32If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him.

14:13And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

17:1These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

12:19And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more:

12:20(For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart:

12:21And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:)

Jude (Author Jude)

1:25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

Revelation (Author John)

4:11Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

15:8And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

21:10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

21:11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

21:23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
