2:7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
12:7Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
10:28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
22:32I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

5:6Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
5:8We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
5:23And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
