THE HOLY BIBLE Authorized King James

Psalms (Author Moses, David, Solomon, Asaph, Heman, Ethan, sons of Korah, compiled by Ezra)

2:7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.

16:9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

16:10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Isaiah (Author Isaiah)

26:19Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Matthew (Author Matthew)

12:40For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

16:4A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

16:21From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.

17:23And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And they were exceeding sorry.

20:19And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

26:32But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

27:52And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

27:53And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

27:63Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

28:6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

28:7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

Mark (Author John Mark)

8:31And he began to teach them, that the Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again.

9:9And as they came down from the mountain, he charged them that they should tell no man what things they had seen, till the Son of man were risen from the dead.

9:10And they kept that saying with themselves, questioning one with another what the rising from the dead should mean.

10:34And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

14:28But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

14:58We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

16:6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

16:7But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

Luke (Author Luke)

9:22Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day.

9:31Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

18:33And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again.

24:5And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

24:6He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

24:7Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

24:46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

John (Author John)

2:19Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

2:21But he spake of the temple of his body.

2:22When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

12:23And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.

16:16A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father.

16:22And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.

20:1The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.

20:2Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.

20:3Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.

20:4So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.

20:5And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.

20:6Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,

20:7And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.

20:8Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.

20:9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

20:10Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.

20:11But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,

20:12And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

20:13And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.

20:14And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.

20:15Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.

20:16Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

20:17Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

20:18Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

Acts (Author Luke)

1:3To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

1:22Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

2:24Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

2:31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

2:32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.

3:15And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

4:10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

4:33And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

5:30The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

5:31Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

5:32And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

10:40Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;

10:41Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

13:30But God raised him from the dead:

13:31And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people.

13:32And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

13:33God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

13:34And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

17:2And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

17:3Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ.

17:31Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

26:23That Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.

26:26For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner.

Romans (Author Paul)

1:4And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

4:24But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

4:25Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

5:10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

6:4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

6:5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

6:9Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

6:10For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

8:11But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

8:34Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

10:9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

1 Corinthians (Author Paul)

6:14And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

15:3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

15:4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

15:5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

15:6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

15:7After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

15:8And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

15:12Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

15:13But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:

15:14And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

15:15Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

15:16For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:

15:17And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

15:18Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.

15:19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

15:20But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

15:21For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

15:22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

15:23But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

2 Corinthians (Author Paul)

4:10Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

4:11For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

4:14Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

5:15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

13:4For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.

2:12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

1 Thessalonians (Author Paul)

1:10And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

4:14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

2 Timothy (Author Paul)

Hebrews (Author Paul)

13:20Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

1 Peter (Author Peter)

1:3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

1:21Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

3:18For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

3:21The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Revelation (Author John)

1:5And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

1:18I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
