- Oh that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then would thy peace have been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea; Isa. 48:18

- Will ye not fear me? saith Jehovah. Will ye not tremble at my presence, who have set the sand a bound for the sea by a perpetual decree, and it shall not pass it? and its waves toss themselves, but they do not prevail; and they roar, yet can they not pass over it? Jer. 5:22

- Thus saith Jehovah, who giveth the sun for light by day, the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for light by night, who stirreth up the sea so that the waves thereof roar, -- Jehovah of hosts is his name: Jer. 31:35
- As the host of the heavens cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me. Jer. 33:22
- As I live, saith the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts, surely as Tabor among the mountains, and as Carmel by the sea, so shall he come. Jer. 46:18

- Concerning Damascus. Hamath is put to shame, and Arpad; for they have heard evil tidings, they are melted away: there is distress on the sea; it cannot be quiet. Jer. 49:23

- And the brazen pillars that were in the house of Jehovah, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of Jehovah, the Chaldeans broke up, and carried all the brass thereof to Babylon. Jer. 52:17
- The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that formed the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of Jehovah: for the brass of all these vessels there was no weight. Jer. 52:20
- What shall I take to witness for thee? what shall I liken unto thee, daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, virgin daughter of Zion? For thy ruin is great as the sea: who will heal thee? Lam. 2:13
- therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth its waves to come up. Ezek. 26:3
- She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah; and she shall become a spoil for the nations. Ezek. 26:5

- And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How hast thou perished, that wast inhabited from the seas, O renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, -- she and her inhabitants, who caused their terror to be on all them that dwell therein! Ezek. 26:17
- Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; and the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure. Ezek. 26:18
- and say unto Tyre: O thou that art situate at the entries of the sea, and traffickest with the peoples in many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty. Ezek. 27:3
- The elders of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee repairing thy leaks; all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee, to barter with thee. Ezek. 27:9
- And all that handle the oar, the mariners, all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land, Ezek. 27:29
- And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, saying, Who is like Tyre, like her that is destroyed in the midst of the sea? Ezek. 27:32
- so that the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the heavens, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things which creep upon the earth, and all mankind that are upon the face of the earth shall shake at my presence; and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. - And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there for burial in Israel, the valley of the passers-by to the east of the sea; and it shall stop the way of the passers-by; and there shall they bury Gog and all the multitude; and they shall call it, Valley of Hamon-Gog. - And he said unto me, These waters issue out toward the east district, and go down into the plain, and go into the sea; when they are brought forth into the sea, the waters thereof shall be healed. Ezek. 47:8

- And this shall be the border of the land: toward the north side, from the great sea, the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Zedad, Ezek. 47:15
- And the border from the sea shall be Hazar-enan, the border of Damascus, and the north northward, and the border of Hamath: this is the north side. Ezek. 47:17
- -- And on the east side ye shall measure between Hauran and Damascus, and Gilead and the land of Israel by the Jordan, from the border unto the east sea: this is the east side. Ezek. 47:18
- -- And the south side southward, from Tamar to the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, by the torrent, unto the great sea: this is the south side southward. Ezek. 47:19
- -- And the west side shall be the great sea from the border, as far as over against the entering into Hamath: this is the west side. Ezek. 47:20
- And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be from Tamar to the waters of Meribah-Kadesh, by the torrent, unto the great sea. Ezek. 48:28
- Daniel spoke and said, I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of the heavens broke forth upon the great sea. Dan. 7:2
- And four great beasts came up from the sea, different one from another. Dan. 7:3

- But Jehovah sent out a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty tempest upon the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken. Jonah 1:4
- And the mariners were afraid, and cried every one unto his god; and they cast forth the wares that were in the ship into the sea, to be lightened of them. But Jonah had gone down into the lower part of the ship; and he lay, and was fast asleep. Jonah 1:5
- And he said unto them, I am a Hebrew, and I fear Jehovah, the God of the heavens, who hath made the sea and the dry land. Jonah 1:9
- And they said unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea grew more and more tempestuous. Jonah 1:11
- And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that because of me this great tempest is upon you. Jonah 1:12
- But the men rowed hard to regain the land; but they could not; for the sea grew more and more tempestuous against them. Jonah 1:13
- And they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from its raging. Jonah 1:15
- In that day they shall come to thee from Assyria and the cities of Egypt, and from Egypt to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain. Mic. 7:12
- He will yet again have compassion on us, he will tread under foot our iniquities: and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. Mic. 7:19

- And walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishers; Mt. 4:18
- and behold, the water became very agitated on the sea, so that the ship was covered by the waves; but *he* slept. Mt. 8:24
- And he says to them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then, having arisen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Mt. 8:26
- But the men were astonished, saying, What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him? Mt. 8:27
- And he said to them, Go. And they, going out, departed into the herd of swine; and lo, the whole herd of swine rushed down the steep slope into the sea, and died in the waters. Mt. 8:32

- Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like a seine which has been cast into the sea, and which has gathered together of every kind, Mt. 13:47
- but the ship was already in the middle of the sea tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Mt. 14:24
- But in the fourth watch of the night he went off to them, walking on the sea. Mt. 14:25
- And the disciples, seeing him walking on the sea, were troubled, saying, It is an apparition. And they cried out through fear. Mt. 14:26
- And Jesus, going away from thence, came towards the sea of Galilee, and he went up into the mountain and sat down there; Mt. 15:29
- But that we may not be an offence to them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up, and when thou hast opened its mouth thou wilt find a stater; take that and give it to them for me and thee. Mt. 17:27
- But whosoever shall offend one of these little ones who believe in me, it were profitable for him that a great millstone had been hanged upon his neck and he be sunk in the depths of the sea. Mt. 18:6
- And Jesus answering said to them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and do not doubt, not only shall ye do what is done to the fig-tree, but even if ye should say to this mountain, Be thou taken away and be thou cast into the sea, it shall come to pass. Mt. 21:21

- And they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. Mk. 5:1
- And Jesus immediately allowed them. And the unclean spirits going out entered into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep slope, into the sea (about two thousand), and were choked in the sea. Mk. 5:13
- And Jesus having passed over in the ship again to the other side, a great crowd gathered to him; and he was by the sea. Mk. 5:21
- And when evening was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and *he* alone upon the land. Mk. 6:47
- And seeing them labouring in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he comes to them walking on the sea, and would have passed them by. Mk. 6:48
- But they, seeing him walking on the sea, thought that it was an apparition, and cried out. Mk. 6:49
- And again having left the borders of Tyre and Sidon, he came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis. Mk. 7:31
- And whosoever shall be a snare to one of the little ones who believe in me, it were better for him if a millstone were hung about his neck, and he cast into the sea. Mk. 9:42
- Verily I say to you, that whosoever shall say to this mountain, Be thou taken away and cast into the sea, and shall not doubt in his heart, but believe that what he says takes place, whatever he shall say shall come to pass for him. Mk. 11:23

- Having rowed then about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they see Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the ship; and they were frightened. Jn. 6:19
- On the morrow the crowd which stood on the other side of the sea, having seen that there was no other little ship there except that into which his disciples had got, and that Jesus had not gone with his disciples into the ship, but that his disciples had gone away alone; Jn. 6:22
- And having found him the other side of the sea, they said to him, Rabbi, when art thou arrived here? Jn. 6:25
- After these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. And he manifested himself thus. Jn. 21:1
- That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved says to Peter, It is the Lord. Simon Peter therefore, having heard that it was the Lord, girded his overcoat on him (for he was naked), and cast himself into the sea; Jn. 21:7
- And they, having heard it, lifted up their voice with one accord to God, and said, Lord, *thou* art the God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that is in them; Acts 4:24
- *He* led them out, having wrought wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years. Acts 7:36

- And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go as to the sea; but Silas and Timotheus abode there. Acts 17:14
- But the sailors wishing to flee out of the ship, and having let down the boat into the sea under pretext of being about to carry out anchors from the prow, Acts 27:30
- And having satisfied themselves with food, they lightened the ship, casting out the wheat into the sea. Acts 27:38

- And a strong angel took up a stone, as a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall Babylon the great city be cast down, and shall be found no more at all; Rev. 18:21
- and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, whose number is as the sand of the sea. Rev. 20:8
- And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged each according to their works: Rev. 20:13
- And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea exists no more. Rev. 21:1
