- Lofty eyes, and a proud heart, the lamp of the wicked, is sin. Pr. 21:4

- What shall we say then? is the law sin? Far be the thought. But I had not known sin, unless by law: for I had not had conscience also of lust unless the law had said, Thou shalt not lust; Rom. 7:7
- but sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, wrought in me every lust; for without law sin was dead. Rom. 7:8
- But *I* was alive without law once; but the commandment having come, sin revived, but *I* died. Rom. 7:9
- for sin, getting a point of attack by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me. Rom. 7:11
- Did then that which is good become death to me? Far be the thought. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death to me by that which is good; in order that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful. Rom. 7:13
- For we know that the law is spiritual: but *I* am fleshly, sold under sin. Rom. 7:14

- For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and of death. Rom. 8:2
- For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, having sent his own Son, in likeness of flesh of sin, and for sin, has condemned sin in the flesh, Rom. 8:3
- but if Christ be in you, the body is dead on account of sin, but the Spirit life on account of righteousness. Rom. 8:10

- Thou tookest no pleasure in burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin. Heb. 10:6

- But where there is remission of these, there is no longer a sacrifice for sin. Heb. 10:18
- For where we sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains any sacrifice for sins, Heb. 10:26
- choosing rather to suffer affliction along with the people of God than to have the temporary pleasure of sin; Heb. 11:25
- Let *us* also therefore, having so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, laying aside every weight, and sin which so easily entangles us, run with endurance the race that lies before us, Heb. 12:1
- Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, wrestling against sin. Heb. 12:4
