These are the waters of Meribah, where the children of Israel contended with Jehovah, and he hallowed himself in them. Num. 20:13

For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro through the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly; for from henceforth thou shalt have wars. 2 Chr. 16:9

And let not the son of the alien, that hath joined himself to Jehovah, speak saying, Jehovah hath entirely separated me from his people; neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree; Isa. 56:3

And the Pharisee who had invited him, seeing it, spoke with himself saying, This person if he were a prophet would have known who and what the woman is who touches him, for she is a sinner. Lk. 7:39

and not only so, but is also chosen by the assemblies as our fellow-traveller with this grace, ministered by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and a witness of our readiness; 2 Cor. 8:19
Do ye look at what concerns appearance? If any one has confidence in himself that he is of Christ, let him think this again in himself, that even as he is of Christ, so also are we. 2 Cor. 10:7
For not *he* that commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends. 2 Cor. 10:18
And it is not wonderful, for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. 2 Cor. 11:14

He that says he abides in him ought, even as *he* walked, himself also so to walk. 1 Jn. 2:6
And every one that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as *he* is pure. 1 Jn. 3:3
He that believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself; he that does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness which God has witnessed concerning his Son. 1 Jn. 5:10
