And it came to pass when the whole nation had completely gone over the Jordan, that Jehovah spoke to Joshua, saying, Josh. 4:1
And Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had appointed of the children of Israel, a man out of every tribe; Josh. 4:4
and Joshua said to them, Pass before the ark of Jehovah your God into the midst of the Jordan, and lift up each of you a stone and put it upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, Josh. 4:5
And the children of Israel did so, as Joshua had commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as Jehovah had spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel; and they carried them over with them to the lodging-place, and laid them down there. Josh. 4:8
And twelve stones did Joshua set up in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant had stood firm; and they are there to this day. Josh. 4:9
And the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan, until everything was finished that Jehovah had commanded Joshua to speak unto the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua. And the people hasted and passed over. Josh. 4:10
On that day Jehovah magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life. Josh. 4:14
And Jehovah spoke to Joshua, saying, Josh. 4:15
And Joshua commanded the priests, saying, Come up out of the Jordan. Josh. 4:17
And those twelve stones which they had taken out of the Jordan did Joshua set up in Gilgal. Josh. 4:20
At that time Jehovah said to Joshua, Make thee stone-knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time. Josh. 5:2
And Joshua made him stone-knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of Araloth. Josh. 5:3
And this is the cause why Joshua circumcised them: all the people that had come out of Egypt, the males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they came out of Egypt. Josh. 5:4
And their sons whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised, for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way. Josh. 5:7
And Jehovah said to Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. And the name of the place was called Gilgal to this day. Josh. 5:9
And it came to pass when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there stood a man before him with his sword drawn in his hand. And Joshua went to him, and said to him: Art thou for us, or for our enemies? Josh. 5:13
And he said, No; for as captain of the army of Jehovah am I now come. Then Joshua fell upon his face to the earth, and worshipped, and said to him, What saith my lord unto his servant? Josh. 5:14
And the captain of Jehovah's army said to Joshua, Loose thy sandal from off thy foot: for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so. Josh. 5:15
And Jehovah said to Joshua, See, I have given into thy hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the valiant men. Josh. 6:2
And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said to them, Carry the ark of the covenant, and seven priests shall carry seven blast-trumpets before the ark of Jehovah. Josh. 6:6
And it came to pass when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests carrying the seven blast-trumpets before Jehovah passed on and blew with the trumpets; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah went after them. Josh. 6:8
And Joshua had commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not shout, nor let your voice be heard, neither shall a word proceed out of your mouth, until the day I say to you, Shout; then shall ye shout. Josh. 6:10
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests carried the ark of Jehovah. Josh. 6:12
And it came to pass the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people, Shout; for Jehovah has given you the city. Josh. 6:16
And Joshua said to the two men that had spied out the country, Go into the harlot's house and bring out thence the woman, and all that she has, as ye swore unto her. Josh. 6:22
And Joshua saved alive Rahab the harlot, and her father's household, and all that she had, and she dwelt in the midst of Israel to this day; because she hid the messengers whom Joshua had sent to spy out Jericho. Josh. 6:25
And Joshua swore at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before Jehovah who shall rise up and build this city Jericho! In his first-born shall he lay its foundation, and in his youngest son shall he set up its gates. Josh. 6:26
And Jehovah was with Joshua; and his fame was in all the land. Josh. 6:27
And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth-Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and spoke to them, saying, Go up and spy out the country. And the men went up and spied out Ai. Josh. 7:2
And they returned to Joshua, and said to him, Let not all the people go up; let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; make not all the people to toil thither, for they are few. Josh. 7:3
And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of Jehovah until the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and threw dust upon their heads. Josh. 7:6
And Joshua said, Alas, Lord Jehovah, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? Oh that we had been content and had remained beyond the Jordan! Josh. 7:7
And Jehovah said to Joshua, Rise up; wherefore liest thou thus upon thy face? Josh. 7:10
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and caused Israel to come forward by their tribes, and the tribe of Judah was taken. Josh. 7:16
And Joshua said to Achan, My son, give, I pray thee, glory to Jehovah the God of Israel, and make confession to him: tell me now what thou hast done, keep it not back from me. Josh. 7:19
And Achan answered Joshua and said, Indeed I have sinned against Jehovah the God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done. Josh. 7:20
And Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent, and behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it. Josh. 7:22
And they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them to Joshua and to all the children of Israel, and laid them out before Jehovah. Josh. 7:23
Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the mantle, and the bar of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had; and they brought them up into the valley of Achor. Josh. 7:24
And Joshua said, How hast thou troubled us! Jehovah will trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire, and stoned them with stones. Josh. 7:25
And Jehovah said to Joshua, Fear not, neither be dismayed. Take with thee all the people of war, and arise, go up to Ai. See, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land. Josh. 8:1
And Joshua arose, and all the people of war, to go up to Ai. And Joshua chose thirty thousand valiant men, and sent them away by night. Josh. 8:3
And Joshua sent them forth; and they went to lie in ambush, and abode between Bethel and Ai, on the west of Ai. And Joshua lodged that night among the people. Josh. 8:9
And Joshua rose early in the morning, and inspected the people, and went up, he and the elders of Israel, before the people to Ai. Josh. 8:10
And when they had set the people, the whole camp on the north of the city, and their ambush on the west of the city, Joshua went that night into the midst of the valley. Josh. 8:13
And Joshua and all Israel let themselves be beaten before them; and they fled by the way of the wilderness. Josh. 8:15
And all the people that were in the city were called together to pursue after them; and they pursued after Joshua, and were drawn away from the city. Josh. 8:16
And Jehovah said to Joshua, Stretch out the javelin that is in thy hand toward Ai; for I will give it into thy hand. And Joshua stretched out the javelin that he had in his hand toward the city. Josh. 8:18
When Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city, and that the smoke of the city went up, they turned again, and slew the men of Ai. Josh. 8:21
And the king of Ai they took alive, and brought him to Joshua. Josh. 8:23
And Joshua did not draw back his hand, which he had stretched out with the javelin, until they had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai. Josh. 8:26
Only, the cattle and the spoil of the city Israel took as prey to themselves, according to the word of Jehovah which he had commanded Joshua. Josh. 8:27
And Joshua burned Ai, and made it an everlasting heap of desolation to this day. Josh. 8:28
And the king of Ai he hanged on a tree until the evening; and at the going down of the sun Joshua commanded, and they took his carcase down from the tree, and threw it down at the entrance of the gate of the city, and raised upon it a great heap of stones, which remains to this day. Josh. 8:29
Then Joshua built an altar to Jehovah the God of Israel, in mount Ebal, Josh. 8:30
There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded which Joshua read not before the whole congregation of Israel, and the women, and the children, and the strangers that lived among them. Josh. 8:35
that they assembled together, to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord. Josh. 9:2
And when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and to Ai, Josh. 9:3
And they went to Joshua unto the camp at Gilgal, and said to him, and to the men of Israel, From a far country are we come; and now make a covenant with us. Josh. 9:6
And they said unto Joshua, We are thy servants. And Joshua said to them, Who are ye? and from whence come ye? Josh. 9:8
And Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live; and the princes of the assembly swore unto them. Josh. 9:15
And Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, saying, Why have ye deceived us, saying, We are very far from you; whereas ye dwell in our midst? Josh. 9:22
And they answered Joshua and said, Because it was certainly told thy servants how that Jehovah thy God commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land, and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land from before you; and we feared greatly for our lives because of you, and did this thing. Josh. 9:24
And Joshua made them that day hewers of wood and drawers of water for the assembly, and for the altar of Jehovah, to this day, in the place which he should choose. Josh. 9:27
And it came to pass when Adoni-zedek king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had taken Ai and had utterly destroyed it, that he had done to Ai and its king as he had done to Jericho and its king, and that the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them, Josh. 10:1
Come up to me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon; for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel. Josh. 10:4
And the men of Gibeon sent to Joshua, to the camp at Gilgal, saying, Withdraw not thy hand from thy servants: come up to us quickly, and save us and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill-country are gathered against us. Josh. 10:6
So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he and all the people of war with him, even all the valiant men. Josh. 10:7
And Jehovah said to Joshua, Fear them not; for into thy hand have I given them: not a man of them shall stand before thee. Josh. 10:8
And Joshua came upon them suddenly; he went up from Gilgal all night. Josh. 10:9
Then spoke Joshua to Jehovah in the day when Jehovah gave up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand still upon Gibeon; And thou, moon, in the valley of Ajalon! Josh. 10:12
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp, to Gilgal. Josh. 10:15
And it was told Joshua, saying, The five kings have been found, hid in the cave at Makkedah. Josh. 10:17
And Joshua said, Roll great stones before the mouth of the cave, and set men before it to keep them. Josh. 10:18
And it came to pass when Joshua and the children of Israel had ended smiting them with a very great slaughter, until they were consumed, that the remnant which remained of them entered into fortified cities; Josh. 10:20
and all the people returned to the camp to Joshua, at Makkedah, in peace; none moved his tongue against the children of Israel. Josh. 10:21
And Joshua said, Open the mouth of the cave, and bring forth to me those five kings out of the cave. Josh. 10:22
And it came to pass when they had brought forth those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called to all the men of Israel, and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him, Come forward, put your feet on the necks of these kings. And they came forward and put their feet on their necks. Josh. 10:24
And Joshua said to them, Fear not, neither be dismayed; be strong and courageous, for thus will Jehovah do to all your enemies against whom ye fight. Josh. 10:25
And afterwards Joshua smote them, and put them to death, and hanged them on five trees; and they were hanging upon the trees until the evening. Josh. 10:26
And it came to pass at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave where they had been hid, and laid great stones before the cave's mouth, which remain to this very day. Josh. 10:27
And Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and the king thereof, him and all the souls that were therein he utterly destroyed; he let none remain; and he did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho. Josh. 10:28
And Joshua passed, and all Israel with him, from Makkedah to Libnah, and fought against Libnah. Josh. 10:29
And Joshua passed, and all Israel with him, from Libnah to Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it. Josh. 10:31
Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua smote him and his people, until he had left him none remaining. Josh. 10:33
And Joshua, and all Israel with him, passed from Lachish to Eglon; and they encamped against it, and fought against it. Josh. 10:34
And Joshua went up, and all Israel with him, from Eglon to Hebron; and they fought against it. Josh. 10:36
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir; and fought against it. Josh. 10:38
And Joshua smote the whole country, the mountain, and the south, and the lowland, and the hill-slopes, and all their kings: he let none remain, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as Jehovah the God of Israel had commanded. Josh. 10:40
And Joshua smote them from Kadesh-barnea even to Gazah, and all the country of Goshen, even to Gibeon; Josh. 10:41
and all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time; for Jehovah the God of Israel fought for Israel. Josh. 10:42
And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp, to Gilgal. Josh. 10:43
And Jehovah said to Joshua, Be not afraid because of them; for to-morrow about this time will I give them all up slain before Israel: their horses shalt thou hough, and thou shalt burn their chariots with fire. Josh. 11:6
And Joshua, and all the people of war with him, came upon them by the waters of Merom suddenly, and fell upon them. Josh. 11:7
And Joshua did to them as Jehovah had said to him: he houghed their horses, and burned their chariots with fire. Josh. 11:9
And Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword; for Hazor was in times past the head of all those kingdoms. Josh. 11:10
And all the cities of those kings and all their kings did Joshua take; and he smote them with the edge of the sword, destroying them utterly, as Moses the servant of Jehovah had commanded. Josh. 11:12
Only, all the cities that stood still upon their hills Israel did not burn, save Hazor alone, which Joshua burned. Josh. 11:13
As Jehovah had commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua: he let nothing fail of all that Jehovah had commanded Moses. Josh. 11:15
And Joshua took all that land, the mountain and all the south, and all the land of Goshen, and the lowland, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and its lowland; Josh. 11:16
Joshua made war a long time with all those kings. Josh. 11:18
And Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountain of Judah, and from all the mountain of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly, with their cities. Josh. 11:21
And Joshua took the whole land, according to all that Jehovah had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions, by their tribes. And the land rested from war. Josh. 11:23
And these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side the Jordan on the west, from Baal-Gad in the valley of Lebanon as far as the smooth mountain, which rises toward Seir. And Joshua gave it to the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions, Josh. 12:7
And Joshua was old, advanced in age, and Jehovah said to him, Thou art old, advanced in age, and there remaineth yet very much land to take possession of. Josh. 13:1
And this is what the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, allotted for inheritance to them: Josh. 14:1
Then the children of Judah came near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, Thou knowest the word that Jehovah spoke to Moses the man of God, concerning me and thee, in Kadesh-barnea. Josh. 14:6
And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance. Josh. 14:13
And to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, the city of Arba, the father of Anak, that is, Hebron. Josh. 15:13
And they came near before Eleazar the priest, and before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren. And he gave them according to the commandment of Jehovah an inheritance among the brethren of their father. Josh. 17:4
And the children of Joseph spoke to Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me as inheritance one lot and one portion, seeing I am a great people, forasmuch as Jehovah has blessed me hitherto? Josh. 17:14
And Joshua said unto them, If thou art a great people, then get thee up to the wood, and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if the hill-country of Ephraim is too narrow for thee. Josh. 17:15
And Joshua spoke to the house of Joseph, to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power: thou shalt not have one lot only, Josh. 17:17
And Joshua said to the children of Israel, How long will ye shew yourselves slack to go to take possession of the land which Jehovah the God of your fathers hath given you? Josh. 18:3
And the men arose and went away. And Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying, Go and walk through the land, and describe it, and come again to me, and I will cast lots for you here before Jehovah in Shiloh. Josh. 18:8
And the men went and passed through the land, and described it by cities into seven portions, in a book, and they came to Joshua, to the camp at Shiloh. Josh. 18:9
And Joshua cast lots for them in Shiloh before Jehovah. And there Joshua divided the land to the children of Israel according to their divisions. Josh. 18:10
And they ended dividing the land for inheritance according to its borders. And the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them. Josh. 19:49
These were the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed by lot in Shiloh before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting. And they ended dividing the land. Josh. 19:51
And Jehovah spoke to Joshua, saying, Josh. 20:1
Then the chief fathers of the Levites drew near to Eleazar the priest, and to Joshua the son of Nun, and to the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel; Josh. 21:1
Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, Josh. 22:1
And Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went to their tents. Josh. 22:6
And to half the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given inheritance in Bashan, and to the other half thereof had Joshua given among their brethren on this side the Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them also, Josh. 22:7
And it came to pass a long time after that Jehovah had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, and Joshua had become old, advanced in age, Josh. 23:1
that Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am become old, advanced in age; Josh. 23:2
And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem, and called for the elders of Israel, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God. Josh. 24:1
And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith Jehovah the God of Israel: Your fathers dwelt of old on the other side of the river, Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor, and they served other gods. Josh. 24:2
And Joshua said to the people, Ye cannot serve Jehovah, for he is a holy God; he is a jealous *God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. Josh. 24:19
And the people said to Joshua, No; but we will serve Jehovah. Josh. 24:21
And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you Jehovah, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. Josh. 24:22
And the people said unto Joshua, Jehovah our God will we serve, and to his voice will we hearken. Josh. 24:24
So Joshua made a covenant with the people that day, and set them a statute and an ordinance in Shechem. Josh. 24:25
And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under the oak that was by the sanctuary of Jehovah. Josh. 24:26
And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us, for it hath heard all the words of Jehovah which he spoke unto us; and it shall be a witness against you, lest ye deny your God. Josh. 24:27
And Joshua dismissed the people, every man to his inheritance. Josh. 24:28
And it came to pass after these things, that Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Jehovah, died, a hundred and ten years old. Josh. 24:29
And Israel served Jehovah all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders whose days were prolonged after Joshua, and who had known all the works of Jehovah, which he had done for Israel. Josh. 24:31
And it came to pass after the death of Joshua that the children of Israel asked Jehovah, saying, Which of us shall go up against the Canaanites first, to fight against them? Judg. 1:1
And Joshua dismissed the people, and the children of Israel went every man to his inheritance to possess the land. Judg. 2:6
And the people served Jehovah all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders whose days were prolonged after Joshua, who had seen all the great works of Jehovah, which he had done for Israel. Judg. 2:7
And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Jehovah, died, a hundred and ten years old. Judg. 2:8
I also will not henceforth dispossess from before them any of the nations that Joshua left when he died; Judg. 2:21
Therefore Jehovah left those nations, without dispossessing them hastily, neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua. Judg. 2:23
And the cart came into the field of Joshua the Beth-shemeshite, and stood there; and a great stone was there. And they clave the wood of the cart, and offered up the kine as a burnt-offering to Jehovah. 1 Sam. 6:14
and the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both fortified cities and villages of the peasantry; and they brought them as far as the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of Jehovah, which is to this day in the field of Joshua the Beth-shemeshite. 1 Sam. 6:18
In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho; he laid its foundation in Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates in Segub his youngest, according to the word of Jehovah which he spoke through Joshua the son of Nun. 1 Ki. 16:34
And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geba even to Beer-sheba; and he broke down the high places of the gates, those at the entrance of the gate of Joshua the governor of the city, and those on the left hand of any going in at the gate of the city. 2 Ki. 23:8

* In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, came the word of Jehovah by the prophet Haggai unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying, Hag. 1:1
And Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, according as Jehovah their God had sent him, and the people feared before Jehovah. Hag. 1:12
And Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked at the house of Jehovah of hosts, their God, Hag. 1:14
Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying, Hag. 2:2
But now be strong, Zerubbabel, saith Jehovah; and be strong, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith Jehovah, and work: for I am with you, saith Jehovah of hosts. Hag. 2:4
And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of Jehovah, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Zech. 3:1
And Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the Angel. Zech. 3:3

Hear now, Joshua the high priest, thou and thy fellows that sit before thee -- for they are men of portent -- for behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch. Zech. 3:8
For behold, the stone that I have laid before Joshua -- upon one stone are seven eyes; behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith Jehovah of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of this land in one day. Zech. 3:9
yea, take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest; Zech. 6:11
which also our fathers, receiving from their predecessors, brought in with Joshua when they entered into possession of the lands of the nations, whom God drove out from the face of our fathers, until the days of David; Acts 7:45
