But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast; that ye may know that Jehovah distinguisheth between the Egyptians and Israel. Ex. 11:7
And Jehovah had said to Moses, Pharaoh shall not hearken to you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt. Ex. 11:9
And it shall be for a sign to thee on thy hand, and for a memorial between thine eyes, that the law of Jehovah may be in thy mouth; for with a powerful hand hath Jehovah brought thee out of Egypt. Ex. 13:9
And it came to pass, when Pharaoh let the people go, that God did not lead them the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, That the people may not repent when they see conflict, and return to Egypt. Ex. 13:17
And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he may pursue after them; and I will glorify myself in Pharaoh, and in all his host; and the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah. And they did so. Ex. 14:4

And Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah has commanded: Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread that I gave you to eat in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt. Ex. 16:32
And the people contended with Moses, and said, Give us water, that we may drink! And Moses said to them, Why do ye dispute with me? Why do ye tempt Jehovah? Ex. 17:2
Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock on Horeb; and thou shalt strike the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so before the eyes of the elders of Israel. Ex. 17:6
that they may judge the people at all times; and it shall be that they shall bring to thee every great matter, and that they shall judge every small matter, and they shall lighten the task on thee, and they shall bear it with thee. Ex. 18:22

and he shall cause the woman to drink the bitter water that bringeth the curse, that the water that bringeth the curse may enter into her for bitterness. Num. 5:24
And the priest shall wave them as wave-offering before Jehovah; it is holy for the priest, with the breast of the wave-offering and with the shoulder of the heave-offering; and afterwards the Nazarite may drink wine. Num. 6:20
And thou shalt separate the Levites from among the children of Israel, that the Levites may be mine. Num. 8:14
And those men said to him, We are unclean by reason of the dead body of a man: why are we kept back, that we may not present the offering of Jehovah at its set time among the children of Israel? Num. 9:7
Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh that we may eat! Num. 11:13
And if thou deal thus with me, slay me, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, that I may not behold my wretchedness. Num. 11:15
And Moses said, The people in whose midst I am are six hundred thousand footmen; and thou sayest, I will give them flesh that they may eat a whole month. Num. 11:21
Send thou men, that they may search out the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel. Ye shall send a man of every tribe of his fathers, each a prince among them. Num. 13:2
And why is Jehovah bringing us to this land that we may fall by the sword, that our wives and our little ones may become a prey? Is it not better for us to return to Egypt? Num. 14:3
and it shall be unto you for a tassel, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of Jehovah, and do them; and that ye seek not after the lusts of your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye go a whoring; Num. 15:39
that ye may remember and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God. Num. 15:40
And Jehovah said to Moses, Bring Aaron's staff again before the testimony, to be kept as a token for the sons of rebellion, that thou mayest put an end to their murmurings before me, that they may not die. Num. 17:10
And thy brethren also, the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring near with thee, that they may unite with thee, and minister unto thee; but thou and thy sons with thee shall serve before the tent of the testimony. Num. 18:2
And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of the whole tent: only they shall not come near to the vessels of the sanctuary and to the altar, that they may not die, and you as well as they. Num. 18:3
And now come, I pray thee, curse me this people; for they are mightier than I: perhaps I may be able to smite them, and drive them out of the land; for I know that he whom thou blessest is blessed, and he whom thou cursest is cursed. Num. 22:6
Behold, a people is come out of Egypt, and it covers the face of the land. Now come, curse me them: perhaps I may be able to fight against them, and drive them out. Num. 22:11
And Jehovah said to Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up to Jehovah before the sun, that the fierce anger of Jehovah may be turned away from Israel. Num. 25:4
who may go out before them, and who may come in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in, that the assembly of Jehovah be not as sheep that have no shepherd. Num. 27:17
And thou shalt put of thine honour upon him, that the whole assembly of the children of Israel may obey him. Num. 27:20
And ye shall wash your garments on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean; and afterwards ye may come into the camp. Num. 31:24
And among the cities that ye shall give unto the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither, -- and besides them ye shall give forty-two cities: Num. 35:6
then ye shall appoint for yourselves cities: cities of refuge shall they be for you; that a manslayer may flee thither, who without intent smiteth a person mortally. Num. 35:11
For the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them shall these six cities be a refuge, that one who smiteth a person mortally without intent may flee thither. Num. 35:15
And if he have smitten him with a stone from the hand, wherewith one may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall certainly be put to death. Num. 35:17
Or if he have smitten him with an instrument of wood, in the hand, wherewith one may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall certainly be put to death; Num. 35:18
or have smitten him with any stone wherewith one may die, without seeing him, and have cast it upon him so that he die, and he was not his enemy, neither sought his harm: Num. 35:23
for the manslayer should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high-priest; but after the death of the high-priest he may return into the land of his possession. Num. 35:28
And every daughter that possesseth an inheritance among the tribes of the children of Israel, shall be married to one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may possess every one the inheritance of his fathers, Num. 36:8
Provide you wise and understanding and known men, according to your tribes, that I may make them your chiefs. Dt. 1:13
Ye shall not respect persons in judgment: ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man, for the judgment is God's; and the matter that is too hard for you shall ye bring to me, that I may hear it. Dt. 1:17
Ye shall buy of them food for money, that ye may eat; and water shall ye also buy of them for money, that ye may drink; Dt. 2:6
Thou shalt sell me food for money that I may eat; and thou shalt give me water for money that I may drink; I will only pass through on my feet, Dt. 2:28
And now, Israel, hearken to the statutes and to the ordinances which I teach you, to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which Jehovah the God of your fathers giveth you. Dt. 4:1
Ye shall not add to the word which I command you, neither shall ye take from it, that ye may keep the commandments of Jehovah your God which I command you. Dt. 4:2
See, I have taught you statutes and ordinances, even as Jehovah my God commanded me, that ye may do so in the land into which ye enter to possess it. Dt. 4:5
the day that thou stoodest before Jehovah thy God in Horeb, when Jehovah said to me, Gather me the people together, that I may cause them to hear my words, that they may learn them, and fear me all the days that they live upon the earth, and teach them to their children. Dt. 4:10
And thou shalt keep his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may be well with thee and with thy sons after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days on the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, for ever. Dt. 4:40
but the seventh day is the sabbath of Jehovah thy God: thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy bondman, nor thy handmaid, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy sojourner that is within thy gates; that thy bondman and thy handmaid may rest as well as thou. Dt. 5:14
Honour thy father and thy mother, as Jehovah thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may be well with thee in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee. Dt. 5:16
But as for thee, stand thou here by me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandments, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it. Dt. 5:31
In all the way that Jehovah your God hath commanded you shall ye walk, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. Dt. 5:33
And these are the commandments, the statutes, and the ordinances, which Jehovah your God commanded to teach you, that ye may do them in the land whereunto ye pass over to possess it, Dt. 6:1
that thou mayest fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. Dt. 6:2
And thou shalt hear, Israel, and take heed to do them; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase greatly, as Jehovah the God of thy fathers hath said unto thee, in a land flowing with milk and honey. Dt. 6:3
And thou shalt do what is right and good in the sight of Jehovah, that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest enter in and possess the good land which Jehovah swore unto thy fathers, Dt. 6:18
Every commandment which I command thee this day shall ye take heed to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and enter in and possess the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers. Dt. 8:1
But thou shalt remember Jehovah thy God, that it is he who giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Dt. 8:18
Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thy heart, dost thou enter in to possess their land, but for the wickedness of these nations doth Jehovah thy God dispossess them from before thee, and that he may perform the word which Jehovah swore unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Dt. 9:5
Let me alone, that I may destroy them, and blot out their name from under heaven; and I will make of thee a nation mightier and greater than they. Dt. 9:14
And Jehovah said unto me, Rise up, take thy journey before the people, that they may enter in and possess the land, which I swore unto their fathers to give unto them. Dt. 10:11
Keep then all the commandment which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and enter in and possess the land, whither ye pass over to possess it; Dt. 11:8
and that ye may prolong your days in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give unto them and unto their seed, a land flowing with milk and honey. Dt. 11:9
that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Jehovah swore unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens which are above the earth. Dt. 11:21
Nevertheless, according to all the desire of thy soul thou mayest slay and eat flesh in all thy gates, according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the gazelle, and the hart. Dt. 12:15
Even as the gazelle and the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat them: the unclean and the clean alike may eat of them. Dt. 12:22
thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do what is right in the eyes of Jehovah. Dt. 12:25
Take heed to hear all these words which I command thee, that it may be well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest what is good and right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God. Dt. 12:28
And thou shalt not let anything cleave to thy hand of the devoted thing; that Jehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers; Dt. 13:17
Ye shall eat of no carcase; thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eat it, or sell it unto a foreigner; for thou art a holy people to Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk. Dt. 14:21
and the Levite -- for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee -- and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest. Dt. 14:29
Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes, that they may judge the people with just judgment. Dt. 16:18
and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear Jehovah his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them; Dt. 17:19
that his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left; that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his sons, in the midst of Israel. Dt. 17:20
for Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, that he may stand to serve in the name of Jehovah, he and his sons continually. Dt. 18:5
Thou shalt prepare thee the way, and divide the territory of thy land, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to inherit, into three parts, so that every slayer may flee thither. Dt. 19:3
And this is the case of the slayer who shall flee thither that he may live: he that smiteth his neighbour unwittingly, whom he hated not previously; Dt. 19:4
then the elders of his city shall send and fetch him thence, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die. Dt. 19:12
Thine eye shall not spare him; and thou shalt put away innocent blood from Israel, that it may be well with thee. Dt. 19:13
then it shall be, in the day that he maketh his sons to inherit what he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved firstborn before the son of the hated, who is the firstborn; Dt. 21:16
thou shalt in any case let the dam go, and thou mayest take the young to thee, that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days. Dt. 22:7
and they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath caused an evil name to be spread abroad against a virgin in Israel. And she shall remain his wife: he may not put her away all his days. Dt. 22:19
then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he hath humbled her; he may not put her away all his days. Dt. 22:29
and it shall be, towards evening, he shall bathe in water: and at the going down of the sun he may come inside the camp. Dt. 23:11
of a foreigner thou mayest take interest, but of thy brother thou shalt not take interest; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the business of thy hand in the land whither thou goest to possess it. Dt. 23:20
And she shall depart out of his house, and go away, and may become another man's wife. Dt. 24:2
her first husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for it is an abomination before Jehovah; and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance. Dt. 24:4
in any case thou shalt return him the pledge at the going down of the sun, that he may sleep in his own upper garment and bless thee; and it shall be righteousness unto thee before Jehovah thy God. Dt. 24:13
When thou reapest thy harvest in thy field, and forgettest a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not return to fetch it; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands. Dt. 24:19
A perfect and just weight shalt thou have; a perfect and just ephah shalt thou have; that thy days may be prolonged in the land that Jehovah thy God giveth thee. Dt. 25:15
When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thy produce in the third year, the year of tithing, thou shalt give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat in thy gates, and be filled; Dt. 26:12
Ye shall keep then the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do. Dt. 29:9
that he may establish thee this day for a people unto himself, and that he may be to thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. Dt. 29:13
in that I command thee this day to love Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it. Dt. 30:16
Gather the people together, the men, and the women, and the children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Jehovah your God, and take heed to do all the words of this law; Dt. 31:12
and that their children who do not know it may hear it and learn, that they may fear Jehovah your God, as long as ye live in the land, whereunto ye pass over the Jordan to possess it. Dt. 31:13
And Jehovah said to Moses, Lo, the days are near for thee to die; call Joshua, and present yourselves at the tent of meeting, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went and presented themselves at the tent of meeting. Dt. 31:14
And now, write ye this song, and teach it to the children of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel. Dt. 31:19
Take this book of the law, and put it at the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee; Dt. 31:26
Gather to me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and take heaven and earth to witness against them. Dt. 31:28
Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink-offering? Let them rise up and help you, That there may be a protection over you. Dt. 32:38
And this of Judah; and he said, Hear, Jehovah, the voice of Judah, And bring him unto his people; May his hands strive for them; And be thou a help to him against his oppressors. Dt. 33:7
Bless, Jehovah, his substance! And let the work of his hands please thee; Crush the loins of his adversaries, And of them that hate him, that they may never rise again! Dt. 33:11
Go through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare yourselves victuals, for in three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, that ye may enter in to take possession of the land which Jehovah your God giveth you to possess it. Josh. 1:11
According as we hearkened to Moses in all things, so will we hearken to thee; only may Jehovah thy God be with thee as he was with Moses. Josh. 1:17
And she said to them, Go to the mountain, that the pursuers may not meet with you; and hide yourselves there three days, until the pursuers have returned; and afterwards go your way. Josh. 2:16
yet there shall be a distance between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Ye shall not come near it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go; for ye have not passed this way heretofore. Josh. 3:4
And Jehovah said to Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee. Josh. 3:7
that this may be a sign in your midst. When your children ask hereafter, saying, What mean ye by these stones? Josh. 4:6
And all the princes said to all the assembly, We have sworn unto them by Jehovah the God of Israel, and now we may not touch them. Josh. 9:19
Come up to me, and help me, that we may smite Gibeon; for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel. Josh. 10:4
Provide you three men for a tribe; that I may send them, and they shall rise and go through the land, and describe it according to the proportion of their inheritance, and they shall come to me. Josh. 18:4
that the slayer who unwittingly without intent smiteth any one mortally may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood. Josh. 20:3
And he shall flee unto one of those cities and stand at the entrance of the city-gate, and shall declare his matter in the ears of the elders of that city; and they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them. Josh. 20:4
but to be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we might do service to Jehovah before him with our burnt-offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace-offerings; that your children may not say to our children in future, Ye have no portion in Jehovah. Josh. 22:27
And the guards saw a man come forth out of the city, and said unto him, Shew us, we pray thee, how we may enter into the city, and we will shew thee kindness. Judg. 1:24
that through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of Jehovah to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not. Judg. 2:22

And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they said to Samson's wife, Persuade thy husband, that he may explain to us the riddle, lest we burn thee and thy father's house with fire. Have ye invited us to impoverish us, -- is it not so? Judg. 14:15
And they said to him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may give thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said to them, Swear to me that ye will not fall on me yourselves. Judg. 15:12
And the lords of the Philistines came up to her, and said to her, Persuade him, and see in what his great strength is, and with what we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to overpower him; and we will each give thee eleven hundred silver-pieces. Judg. 16:5
And it came to pass when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison-house, and he played before them; and they set him between the pillars. Judg. 16:25
And Samson said to the lad that held him by the hand, Let loose of me, and suffer me to feel the pillars upon which the house stands, that I may lean upon them. Judg. 16:26
And Samson called to Jehovah, and said, Lord Jehovah, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may take one vengeance upon the Philistines for my two eyes. Judg. 16:28
And Micah said to him, Whence comest thou? And he said to him, I am a Levite of Bethlehem-Judah, and I go to sojourn where I may find a place. Judg. 17:9
And they said to him, Inquire, we pray thee, of God, that we may know whether our way on which we go shall be prosperous. Judg. 18:5
And it came to pass on the fourth day, that they arose early in the morning, and he rose up to depart; and the damsel's father said to his son-in-law, Refresh thy heart with a morsel of bread, and afterwards ye may go your way. Judg. 19:5
They were making their hearts merry, when behold, the men of the city, sons of Belial, surrounded the house, beating at the door; and they spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thy house, that we may know him. Judg. 19:22
and we will take ten men of a hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and a hundred of a thousand, and a thousand of ten thousand, to fetch victuals for the people, that they may do, when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin, according to all the villany that they have wrought in Israel. Judg. 20:10
And now give up the men, the sons of Belial, who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But the children of Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel. Judg. 20:13
And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. And the children of Israel said, Let us flee, that we may draw them from the city to the highways. Judg. 20:32
Jehovah grant you that ye may find rest, each in the house of her husband. And she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice and wept. Ruth 1:9
And ye shall also sometimes draw out for her some ears out of the handfuls, and leave them that she may glean, and rebuke her not. Ruth 2:16
And Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee? Ruth 3:1
And I thought I would apprise thee of it and say, Buy it in the presence of the inhabitants, and in the presence of the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem; but if thou wilt not redeem, tell me, that I may know; for there is none to redeem besides thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it. Ruth 4:4
And the women said to Naomi, Blessed be Jehovah who hath not left thee this day without one that has the right of redemption, and may his name be famous in Israel! Ruth 4:14
But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, I will wait until the child is weaned; then will I bring him, that he may appear before Jehovah, and there abide for ever. 1 Sam. 1:22
And Elkanah her husband said to her, Do what is good in thy sight: abide until thou hast weaned him; only, may Jehovah fulfil his word. And the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him. 1 Sam. 1:23
And it shall come to pass that every one that is left of thy house shall come to crouch to him for a small piece of silver and for a cake of bread, and shall say, Put me, I pray thee, into one of the priestly offices, that I may eat a morsel of bread. 1 Sam. 2:36
And the people came into the camp; and the elders of Israel said, Why has Jehovah smitten us to-day before the Philistines? Let us fetch ourselves the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of Shiloh, that it may come among us, and save us out of the hand of our enemies. 1 Sam. 4:3
Shew yourselves valiant and be men, ye Philistines, that ye may not have to be servants to the Hebrews, as they have been servants to you: be men, and fight. 1 Sam. 4:9
and take the ark of Jehovah, and lay it upon the cart, and the golden jewels, which ye return him as a trespass-offering, put in the coffer by the side thereof; and send it away that it may go. 1 Sam. 6:8
and he will take them that he may appoint for himself captains over thousands, and captains over fifties, and that they may plough his ground, and reap his harvest, and make his instruments of war and instruments of his chariots. 1 Sam. 8:12
that we also may be like all the nations; and our king shall judge us, and go out before us, and conduct our wars. 1 Sam. 8:20
And they arose early; and when it was about the dawning of the day, Samuel called to Saul on the roof, saying, Arise, that I may send thee away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, into the street. 1 Sam. 9:26
As they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Tell the servant to pass on before us (and he passed on), but stand thou still now, that I may cause thee to hear the word of God. 1 Sam. 9:27

And the men of Jabesh said, To-morrow we will come out to you, and ye may do with us according to all that is good in your sight. 1 Sam. 11:10
And the people said to Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death. 1 Sam. 11:12
And now stand still, that I may plead with you before Jehovah of all the righteous acts of Jehovah which he did to you and to your fathers. 1 Sam. 12:7
And Samuel said to Saul, Stay, that I may tell thee what Jehovah has said to me this night. And he said to him, Say on. 1 Sam. 15:16
And now, I pray thee, forgive my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship Jehovah. 1 Sam. 15:25
And he said, I have sinned; honour me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship Jehovah thy God. 1 Sam. 15:30
And the Philistine said, I have defied the ranks of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. 1 Sam. 17:10

And Jonadab said to him, Lay thee down on thy bed and feign thyself sick; and when thy father comes to see thee, say to him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me food, and dress the food in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it from her hand. 2 Sam. 13:5
So Amnon lay down and feigned himself sick; and the king came to see him, and Amnon said to the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat from her hand. 2 Sam. 13:6
And Amnon said to Tamar, Bring the dish into the chamber, that I may eat of thy hand. And Tamar took the cakes that she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother. 2 Sam. 13:10
And behold, the whole family is risen against thy bondmaid, and they say, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may put him to death, for the life of his brother whom he killed; and we will destroy the heir also: so they will quench my coal which is left, and will not leave to my husband a name or remnant on the earth. 2 Sam. 14:7

He wandereth abroad for bread, -- where may it be? He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. Job 15:23

And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the beast of the field may trample them. Job 39:15

For behold, the wicked bend the bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may in darkness shoot at the upright in heart. Ps. 11:2
May he send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; Ps. 20:2
I may count all my bones. They look, they stare upon me; Ps. 22:17
The secret of Jehovah is with them that fear him, that he may make known his covenant to them. Ps. 25:14
That I may cause the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and declare all thy marvellous works. Ps. 26:7
One thing have I asked of Jehovah, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah, and to inquire of him in his temple. Ps. 27:4

And Rab-shakeh said, Is it to thy master and to thee that my master sent me to speak these words? Is it not to the men that sit on the wall, that they may eat their own dung, and drink their own urine with you? Isa. 36:12
It may be Jehovah thy God will hear the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to reproach the living God, and will rebuke the words which Jehovah thy God hath heard. Therefore lift up a prayer for the remnant that is left. Isa. 37:4
And now, Jehovah our God, save us out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art Jehovah, thou only. Isa. 37:20
that they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of Jehovah hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it. Isa. 41:20
Let them bring them forward, and declare to us what shall happen: shew the former things, what they are, that we may give attention to them, and know the end of them; -- or let us hear things to come: Isa. 41:22
declare the things that are to happen hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods; yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be astonished, and behold it together. Isa. 41:23
Who hath declared it from the beginning, that we may know? and beforetime, that we may say, It is right? Indeed, there is none that declareth; no, none that sheweth; no, none that heareth your words. Isa. 41:26
-- Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see. Isa. 42:18
Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the peoples be assembled: who among them declareth this, or causeth us to hear former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified; or let them hear, and say, It is truth. Isa. 43:9
Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am HE: before me there was no *God formed, neither shall there be after me. Isa. 43:10
They that form a graven image are all of them vanity, and their delectable things are of no profit; and they are their own witnesses: they see not, nor know; -- that they may be ashamed. Isa. 44:9
The worker in wood stretcheth out a line; he marketh it out with red chalk; he formeth it with sharp tools, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of man: that it may remain in the house. Isa. 44:13
They have no knowledge, and understand not; for he hath plastered their eyes, that they may not see; and their hearts, that they may not understand. Isa. 44:18
-- that they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the going down, that there is none beside me. I am Jehovah, and there is none else; Isa. 45:6
To whom will ye liken me and make me equal, or compare me, that we may be like? Isa. 46:5
The children of thy bereavement shall yet say in thine ears, The place is too narrow for me: make room for me, that I may dwell. Isa. 49:20
and I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee; who have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over; and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street to them that went over. Isa. 51:23
Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near. Isa. 55:6
For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: Isa. 55:10
And thy gates shall stand open continually: (they shall not be shut day nor night,) that the wealth of the nations may be brought unto thee, and that their kings may be led to thee. Isa. 60:11
Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall possess the land for ever -- the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified. Isa. 60:21
to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, that beauty should be given unto them instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness: that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified. Isa. 61:3
Thus saith Jehovah: As the new wine is found in the cluster, and it is said, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it; so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. Isa. 65:8
To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of Jehovah is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it. Jer. 6:10
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. Jer. 7:18
but I commanded them this thing, saying, Hearken unto my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you. Jer. 7:23
Who is a wise man, that he may understand this? and he to whom the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken, that he may declare it? Why is the land perished, burnt up like a wilderness, so that none passeth through? Jer. 9:12
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider, and call for the mourning women, that they may come, and send for the skilful women, that they may come; Jer. 9:17
and let them make haste, and take up a wailing for us, that our eyes may run down with tears, and our eyelids pour forth waters. Jer. 9:18
For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will this time sling out the inhabitants of the land, and will distress them, that they may be found. Jer. 10:18
that I may perform the oath that I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. And I answered and said, Amen, Jehovah! Jer. 11:5
And I was like a tame lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I knew not that they devised devices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered. Jer. 11:19
Can an Ethiopian change his skin, or a leopard his spots? Then may ye also do good, who are accustomed to do evil. Jer. 13:23
Inquire, I pray thee, of Jehovah for us; for Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon maketh war against us; if so be that Jehovah will deal with us according to all his marvellous works, that he may go up from us. Jer. 21:2
Peradventure they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil which I purpose to do unto them because of the wickedness of their doings. Jer. 26:3
And the prophet Jeremiah said, Amen, may Jehovah do so! may Jehovah perform thy words which thou hast prophesied, to bring again from Babylon, into this place, the vessels of Jehovah's house, and all them of the captivity! Jer. 28:6
For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: I have put a yoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the beasts of the field also. Jer. 28:14
Take wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and be not diminished. Jer. 29:6
Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these writings, this writing of the purchase, both that which is sealed and this writing which is open; and put them in an earthen vessel, that they may remain many days. Jer. 32:14
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me all their days, for the good of them, and of their children after them. Jer. 32:39
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not draw back from them, to do them good; and I will put my fear in their heart, that they may not turn aside from me. Jer. 32:40
neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor shall ye have any; but all your days ye shall dwell in tents, that ye may live many days in the land where ye sojourn. Jer. 35:7
It may be the house of Judah will hear all the evil that I purpose to do unto them, that they may return every man from his evil way, and that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin. Jer. 36:3
It may be they will present their supplication before Jehovah, and that they will return every one from his evil way; for great is the anger and the fury that Jehovah hath pronounced against this people. Jer. 36:7
And the princes said unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; that none may know where ye are. Jer. 36:19
that Jehovah thy God may shew us the way wherein we should walk, and the thing that we should do. Jer. 42:3
Whether it be good or whether it be evil, we will hearken unto the voice of Jehovah our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us when we hearken unto the voice of Jehovah our God. Jer. 42:6
And I will grant mercies to you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land. Jer. 42:12
but Baruch the son of Nerijah is setting thee on against us, to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they may put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon. Jer. 43:3
And this shall be the sign unto you, saith Jehovah, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall certainly stand against you for evil: Jer. 44:29
For this is the day of the Lord Jehovah of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may be avenged of his adversaries; and the sword shall devour, and it shall be sated and made drunk with their blood; for the Lord Jehovah of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country, by the river Euphrates. Jer. 46:10
Give wings unto Moab, that she may flee and get away; and the cities thereof shall become a desolation, without inhabitant. Jer. 48:9
Their Redeemer is strong; Jehovah of hosts is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon. Jer. 50:34
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will make him suddenly run away from it; and who is a chosen man whom I may appoint over her? For who is like me? and who will assign me a time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me? Jer. 50:44
Babylon is suddenly fallen and ruined. Howl over her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. Jer. 51:8
When they are heated, I will prepare their drink, and I will make them drunken, that they may exult, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake, saith Jehovah. Jer. 51:39
What shall I take to witness for thee? what shall I liken unto thee, daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, virgin daughter of Zion? For thy ruin is great as the sea: who will heal thee? Lam. 2:13
he putteth his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope; Lam. 3:29
When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt certainly die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that he may live: the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand. Ezek. 3:18
In all your dwelling-places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your sun-images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished. Ezek. 6:6
that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. Ezek. 11:20
And thou, son of man, prepare thee a captive's baggage, and go captive by day in their sight; and thou shalt go captive from thy place to another place in their sight. It may be they will consider, though they are a rebellious house. Ezek. 12:3
But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the nations whither they shall come; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. Ezek. 12:16
Wherefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against your pillows, that the souls which ye catch by their means may fly away; and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, the souls that ye catch, that they may fly away. Ezek. 13:20
that I may take the house of Israel by their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols. Ezek. 14:5
that the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither make themselves any more unclean with all their transgressions; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, saith the Lord Jehovah. Ezek. 14:11
therefore, behold, I will gather all thy lovers with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all that thou hast loved, with all that thou hast hated, -- I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness. Ezek. 16:37
Say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Shall it prosper? Shall he not pull up its roots, and cut off its fruit, that it may wither? All its fresh sprouting leaves shall wither, even without a great arm and many people to pluck it up by its roots. Ezek. 17:9
Have I any pleasure at all in the death of the wicked? saith the Lord Jehovah; is it not in his turning from his way, that he may live? Ezek. 18:23
and hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am Jehovah your God. Ezek. 20:20
It is sharpened for sore slaughter, it is furbished that it may glitter. Shall we then make mirth, saying, The sceptre of my son contemneth all wood? Ezek. 21:10
And he hath given it to be furbished that it may be handled. The sword, -- it is sharpened, and it is furbished to give it into the hand of the slayer. Ezek. 21:11
In order that the heart may melt, and the stumbling-blocks be multiplied, I have set the threatening sword against all their gates: ah! it is made glittering, it is whetted for the slaughter. Ezek. 21:15
And thou, son of man, set thee two ways, by which the sword of the king of Babylon may come -- out of one land shall they both come -- and make thee a signpost, make it at the head of the way to the city. Ezek. 21:19
And this shall be a false divination in their sight, for them that have sworn oaths; but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken. Ezek. 21:23
And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus speaketh the Lord Jehovah concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their reproach; and thou shalt say, A sword, a sword is drawn; for the slaughter is it furbished, that it may consume, that it may glitter: Ezek. 21:28
and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A city that sheddeth blood in her midst, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself. Ezek. 22:3
Then set it empty upon its coals, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, and that its rust may be consumed. Ezek. 24:11
unto the children of the east, with the land of the children of Ammon; and I will give it them for a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations: Ezek. 25:10
Thy heart was lifted up because of thy beauty; thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I have cast thee to the ground, I have laid thee before kings, that they may behold thee. Ezek. 28:17
Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my sheep at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock: that the shepherds may feed themselves no more; and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, that they may not be food for them. Ezek. 34:10
-- I will save my flock, that they may no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep. Ezek. 34:22
And I will multiply the fruit of the trees and the increase of the field, so that ye may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations. Ezek. 36:30
And he said unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. Ezek. 37:9
And thou shalt come up against my people Israel as a cloud to cover the land -- it shall be at the end of days -- and I will bring thee against my land, that the nations may know me, when I shall be hallowed in thee, O Gog, before their eyes. Ezek. 38:16
And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying them, that they may cleanse the land; Ezek. 39:12
And thou, son of man, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Speak unto the birds of every wing, and to every beast of the field, Gather yourselves together and come, assemble yourselves on every side to my sacrifice which I sacrifice for you, a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood. Ezek. 39:17
Thou, son of man, shew the house to the house of Israel, that they may be confounded at their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern. Ezek. 43:10
And if they be confounded at all that they have done, make known to them the form of the house, and its fashion, and its goings out, and its comings in, and all its forms, and all its statutes, yea, all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof; and write it in their sight, that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the statutes thereof, and do them. Ezek. 43:11
And when they go forth into the outer court, into the outer court to the people, they shall put off their garments wherein they ministered, and lay them in the holy cells; and they shall put on other garments, that they may not hallow the people with their garments. Ezek. 44:19
And they shall come at no dead person to become unclean; but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no husband, they may become unclean. Ezek. 44:25
And the first of all the first-fruits of every kind, and every heave-offering of every kind, of all your heave-offerings, shall be for the priests; ye shall also give unto the priest the first of your dough, that he may cause the blessing to rest on thy house. Ezek. 44:30
The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, so that the bath may contain the tenth part of a homer, and the ephah the tenth part of a homer: the measure thereof shall be according to the homer. Ezek. 45:11
And he shall offer an oblation, an ephah for the bullock, and an ephah for the ram, and for the lambs according to what his hand may attain unto; and oil, a hin for an ephah. Ezek. 46:7
This sentence is by the decree of the watchers, and the decision by the word of the holy ones: that the living may know that the Most High ruleth over the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. Dan. 4:17
Therefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity. Dan. 4:27
Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked. Dan. 6:8
Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king's decree: Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask anything of any god or man within thirty days, except of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which may not be revoked. Dan. 6:12
Then these men came in a body unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed. Dan. 6:15
They have set up kings, but not by me; they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off. Hos. 8:4
Where then is thy king, that he may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes? -- Hos. 13:10
Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live; and so Jehovah, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye say. Amos 5:14
Hate evil, and love good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that Jehovah, the God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph. Amos 5:15
And a man's uncle, and he that should burn him, shall take him up to bring out the bones from the house, and shall say unto him that is in the inner parts of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, None. And he will say, Silence! for we may not make mention of Jehovah's name. Amos 6:10

This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that one may eat of it and not die. Jn. 6:50

Father, as to those whom thou hast given me, I desire that where I am they also may be with me, that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me, for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. Jn. 17:24
And I have made known to them thy name, and will make it known; that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them and I in them. Jn. 17:26
And Pilate went out again and says to them, Lo, I bring him out to you, that ye may know that I find in him no fault whatever. Jn. 19:4
And he who saw it bears witness, and his witness is true, and he knows that he says true that ye also may believe. Jn. 19:35
but these are written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye might have life in his name. Jn. 20:31

so that the residue of men may seek out the Lord, and all the nations on whom my name is invoked, saith the Lord, who does these things Acts 15:17
And leading them out said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved? Acts 16:30
And the jailor reported these words to Paul: The praetors have sent that ye may be let go. Now therefore go out and depart in peace. Acts 16:36
For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears. We wish therefore to know what these things may mean. Acts 17:20
that they may seek God; if indeed they might feel after him and find him, although he is not far from each one of us: Acts 17:27

But that I may not too much intrude on thy time, I beseech thee to hear us briefly in thy kindness. Acts 24:4
concerning whom I have nothing certain to write to my lord. Wherefore I have brought him before you, and specially before thee, king Agrippa, so that an examination having been gone into I may have something to write: Acts 25:26
to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive remission of sins and inheritance among them that are sanctified by faith in me. Acts 26:18
always beseeching at my prayers, if any way now at least I may be prospered by the will of God to come to you. Rom. 1:10
For I greatly desire to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to establish you; Rom. 1:11
and not, according as we are injuriously charged, and according as some affirm that we say, Let us practise evil things, that good ones may come? whose judgment is just. Rom. 3:8
Now we know that whatever the things the law says, it speaks to those under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to God. Rom. 3:19
What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin that grace may abound? Rom. 6:1
And if children, heirs also: heirs of God, and Christ's joint heirs; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him. Rom. 8:17
For I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, that ye may not be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the nations be come in; Rom. 11:25
so these also have now not believed in your mercy, in order that *they* also may be objects of mercy. Rom. 11:31
And be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Rom. 12:2
One man is assured that he may eat all things; but the weak eats herbs. Rom. 14:2
that ye may with one accord, with one mouth, glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Rom. 15:6
that I may be saved from those that do not believe in Judaea; and that my ministry which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints; Rom. 15:31
in order that I may come to you in joy by God's will, and that I may be refreshed with you. Rom. 15:32
that ye may receive her in the Lord worthily of saints, and that ye may assist her in whatever matter she has need of you; for *she* also has been a helper of many, and of myself. Rom. 16:2
that no one may say that I have baptised unto my own name. 1 Cor. 1:15
For Christ has not sent me to baptise, but to preach glad tidings; not in wisdom of word, that the cross of the Christ may not be made vain. 1 Cor. 1:17
But God has chosen the foolish things of the world, that he may put to shame the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world, that he may put to shame the strong things; 1 Cor. 1:27
and the ignoble things of the world, and the despised, has God chosen, and things that are not, that he may annul the things that are; 1 Cor. 1:28
But *we* have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we may know the things which have been freely given to us of God: 1 Cor. 2:12
Let no one deceive himself: if any one thinks himself to be wise among you in this world, let him become foolish, that he may be wise. 1 Cor. 3:18
Now these things, brethren, I have transferred, in their application, to myself and Apollos, for your sakes, that ye may learn in us the lesson of not letting your thoughts go above what is written, that ye may not be puffed up one for such a one against another. 1 Cor. 4:6
to deliver him, I say, being such, to Satan for destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 1 Cor. 5:5
Purge out the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened. For also our passover, Christ, has been sacrificed; 1 Cor. 5:7
Flee fornication. Every sin which a man may practise is without the body, but he that commits fornication sins against his own body. 1 Cor. 6:18
Defraud not one another, unless, it may be, by consent for a time, that ye may devote yourselves to prayer, and again be together, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency. 1 Cor. 7:5
There is a difference between the wife and the virgin. The unmarried cares for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and spirit; but she that has married cares for the things of the world, how she shall please her husband. 1 Cor. 7:34
But I say this for your own profit; not that I may set a snare before you, but for what is seemly, and waiting on the Lord without distraction. 1 Cor. 7:35
Wherefore if meat be a fall-trap to my brother, I will eat no flesh for ever, that I may not be a fall-trap to my brother. 1 Cor. 8:13
If others partake of this right over you, should not rather *we*? But we have not used this right, but we bear all things, that we may put no hindrance in the way of the glad tidings of the Christ. 1 Cor. 9:12
And I do all things for the sake of the glad tidings, that I may be fellow-partaker with them. 1 Cor. 9:23
Know ye not that they who run in the race-course run all, but one receives the prize? Thus run in order that ye may obtain. 1 Cor. 9:24
But every one that contends for a prize is temperate in all things: *they* then indeed that they may receive a corruptible crown, but *we* an incorruptible. 1 Cor. 9:25
Even as *I* also please all in all things; not seeking my own profit, but that of the many, that they may be saved. 1 Cor. 10:33
For there must also be sects among you, that the approved may become manifest among you. 1 Cor. 11:19
But being judged, we are disciplined of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world. 1 Cor. 11:32

Follow after love, and be emulous of spiritual manifestations, but rather that ye may prophesy. 1 Cor. 14:1

There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of undistinguishable sound. 1 Cor. 14:10
Thus *ye* also, since ye are desirous of spirits, seek that ye may abound for the edification of the assembly. 1 Cor. 14:12
Wherefore let him that speaks with a tongue pray that he may interpret. 1 Cor. 14:13
but in the assembly I desire to speak five words with my understanding, that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue. 1 Cor. 14:19
For ye can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all be encouraged. 1 Cor. 14:31
But when all things shall have been brought into subjection to him, then the Son also himself shall be placed in subjection to him who put all things in subjection to him, that God may be all in all.) 1 Cor. 15:28

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassingness of the power may be of God, and not from us: 2 Cor. 4:7

For we do not again commend ourselves to you, but we are giving to you occasion of boast in our behalf, that ye may have such with those boasting in countenance, and not in heart. 2 Cor. 5:12
but even as ye abound in every way, in faith, and word, and knowledge, and all diligence, and in love from you to us, that ye may abound in this grace also. 2 Cor. 8:7
For if the readiness be there, a man is accepted according to what he may have, not according to what he has not. 2 Cor. 8:12
For it is not in order that there may be ease for others, and for you distress, 2 Cor. 8:13
but on the principle of equality; in the present time your abundance for their lack, that their abundance may be for your lack, so that there should be equality. 2 Cor. 8:14

But God is able to make every gracious gift abound towards you, that, having in every way always all-sufficiency, ye may abound to every good work: 2 Cor. 9:8
but I beseech that present I may not be bold with the confidence with which I think to be daring towards some who think of us as walking according to flesh. 2 Cor. 10:2
that I may not seem as if I was frightening you by letters: 2 Cor. 10:9
But what I do, I will also do, that I may cut off the opportunity of those wishing for an opportunity, that wherein they boast they may be found even as we. 2 Cor. 11:12
Again I say, Let not any one think me to be a fool; but if otherwise, receive me then even as a fool, that *I* also may boast myself some little. 2 Cor. 11:16
For if I shall desire to boast, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth; but I forbear, lest any one should think as to me above what he sees me to be, or whatever he may hear of me. 2 Cor. 12:6
And he said to me, My grace suffices thee; for my power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of the Christ may dwell upon me. 2 Cor. 12:9
But we pray to God that ye may do nothing evil; not that *we* may appear approved, but that *ye* may do what is right, and *we* be as reprobates. 2 Cor. 13:7
For we rejoice when *we* may be weak and *ye* may be powerful. But this also we pray for, your perfecting. 2 Cor. 13:9
On this account I write these things being absent, that being present I may not use severity according to the authority which the Lord has given me for building up, and not for overthrowing. 2 Cor. 13:10
was pleased to reveal his Son in me, that I may announce him as glad tidings among the nations, immediately I took not counsel with flesh and blood, Gal. 1:16
For *I*, through law, have died to law, that I may live to God. Gal. 2:19
They are not rightly zealous after you, but desire to shut you out from us, that ye may be zealous after them. Gal. 4:17
*I* have confidence as to you in the Lord, that ye will have no other mind; and he that is troubling you shall bear the guilt of it, whosoever he may be. Gal. 5:10
As many as desire to have a fair appearance in the flesh, these compel you to be circumcised, only that they may not be persecuted because of the cross of Christ. Gal. 6:12
For neither do they that are circumcised themselves keep the law; but they wish you to be circumcised, that they may boast in your flesh. Gal. 6:13
in order that he may give you according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power by his Spirit in the inner man; Eph. 3:16
that the Christ may dwell, through faith, in your hearts, being rooted and founded in love, Eph. 3:17
in order that ye may be fully able to apprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and depth and height; Eph. 3:18

in order that we may be no longer babes, tossed and carried about by every wind of *that* teaching which is in the sleight of men, in unprincipled cunning with a view to systematized error; Eph. 4:14
but, holding the truth in love, we may grow up to him in all things, who is the head, the Christ: Eph. 4:15
Let the stealer steal no more, but rather let him toil, working what is honest with his hands, that he may have to distribute to him that has need. Eph. 4:28
Let no corrupt word go out of your mouth, but if there be any good one for needful edification, that it may give grace to those that hear it. Eph. 4:29
But *ye* also, every one of you, let each so love his own wife as himself; but as to the wife I speak that she may fear the husband. Eph. 5:33
that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest be long-lived on the earth. Eph. 6:3
Put on the panoply of God, that ye may be able to stand against the artifices of the devil: Eph. 6:11
For this reason take to you the panoply of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having accomplished all things, to stand. Eph. 6:13

that ye may judge of and approve the things that are more excellent, in order that ye may be pure and without offence for Christ's day, Phil. 1:10
that your boasting may abound in Christ Jesus through me by my presence again with you. Phil. 1:26
Only conduct yourselves worthily of the glad tidings of the Christ, in order that whether coming and seeing you, or absent, I may hear of what concerns you, that ye stand firm in one spirit, with one soul, labouring together in the same conflict with the faith of the glad tidings; Phil. 1:27
fulfil my joy, that ye may think the same thing, having the same love, joined in soul, thinking one thing; Phil. 2:2
that ye may be harmless and simple, irreproachable children of God in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation; among whom ye appear as lights in the world, Phil. 2:15
But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus to you shortly, that *I* also may be refreshed, knowing how ye get on. Phil. 2:19
But surely I count also all things to be loss on account of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, on account of whom I have suffered the loss of all, and count them to be filth, that I may gain Christ; Phil. 3:8
and that I may be found in him, not having my righteousness, which would be on the principle of law, but that which is by faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God through faith, Phil. 3:9
Not that I have already obtained the prize, or am already perfected; but I pursue, if also I may get possession of it, seeing that also I have been taken possession of by Christ Jesus. Phil. 3:12
For this reason *we* also, from the day we heard of your faith and love, do not cease praying and asking for you, to the end that ye may be filled with the full knowledge of his will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, Col. 1:9
whom *we* announce, admonishing every man, and teaching every man, in all wisdom, to the end that we may present every man perfect in Christ. Col. 1:28
to the end that their hearts may be encouraged, being united together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the full knowledge of the mystery of God; Col. 2:2
And I say this to the end that no one may delude you by persuasive speech. Col. 2:4

For the rest, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, even as also with you; 2 Th. 3:1
and that we may be delivered from bad and evil men, for faith is not the portion of all. 2 Th. 3:2
But if any one obey not our word by the letter, mark that man, and do not keep company with him, that he may be ashamed of himself; 2 Th. 3:14
of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have delivered to Satan, that they may be taught by discipline not to blaspheme. 1 Tim. 1:20
for kings and all that are in dignity, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all piety and gravity; 1 Tim. 2:2
not a novice, that he may not, being inflated, fall into the fault of the devil. 1 Tim. 3:6
But it is necessary that he should have also a good testimony from those without, that he may fall not into reproach and the snare of the devil. 1 Tim. 3:7
Occupy thyself with these things; be wholly in them, that thy progress may be manifest to all. 1 Tim. 4:15
And these things enjoin, that they may be irreproachable. 1 Tim. 5:7
If any believing man or woman have widows, let them impart relief to them, and let not the assembly be charged, that it may impart relief to those that are widows indeed. 1 Tim. 5:16
Those that sin convict before all, that the rest also may have fear. 1 Tim. 5:20
laying by for themselves a good foundation for the future, that they may lay hold of what is really life. 1 Tim. 6:19
earnestly desiring to see thee, remembering thy tears, that I may be filled with joy; 2 Tim. 1:4
No one going as a soldier entangles himself with the affairs of life, that he may please him who has enlisted him as a soldier. 2 Tim. 2:4
For this cause I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that *they* also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 2 Tim. 2:10
in meekness setting right those who oppose, if God perhaps may sometime give them repentance to acknowledgment of the truth, 2 Tim. 2:25
and that they may awake up out of the snare of the devil, who are taken by him, for *his* will. 2 Tim. 2:26
that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work. 2 Tim. 3:17
At my first defence no man stood with me, but all deserted me. May it not be imputed to them. 2 Tim. 4:16
clinging to the faithful word according to the doctrine taught, that he may be able both to encourage with sound teaching and refute gainsayers. Tit. 1:9
This testimony is true; for which cause rebuke them severely, that they may be sound in the faith, Tit. 1:13
that they may admonish the young women to be attached to their husbands, to be attached to their children, Tit. 2:4
discreet, chaste, diligent in home work, good, subject to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be evil spoken of. Tit. 2:5
a sound word, not to be condemned; that he who is opposed may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us: Tit. 2:8
not robbing their masters, but shewing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the teaching which is of our Saviour God in all things. Tit. 2:10
The word is faithful, and I desire that thou insist strenuously on these things, that they who have believed God may take care to pay diligent attention to good works. These things are good and profitable to men. Tit. 3:8
Zenas the lawyer and Apollos set forward diligently on their way, that nothing may be lacking to them; Tit. 3:13
and let ours also learn to apply themselves to good works for necessary wants, that they may not be unfruitful. Tit. 3:14
Let us therefore use diligence to enter into that rest, that no one may fall after the same example of not hearkening to the word. Heb. 4:11
Let us approach therefore with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for seasonable help. Heb. 4:16
For every high priest taken from amongst men is established for men in things relating to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins; Heb. 5:1
For every high priest is constituted for the offering both of gifts and sacrifices; whence it is needful that this one also should have something which he may offer. Heb. 8:3
then he said, Lo, I come to do thy will. He takes away the first that he may establish the second; Heb. 10:9
For ye have need of endurance in order that, having done the will of God, ye may receive the promise. Heb. 10:36
and make straight paths for your feet, that that which is lame be not turned aside; but that rather it may be healed. Heb. 12:13
But this Yet once, signifies the removing of what is shaken, as being made, that what is not shaken may remain. Heb. 12:27
So that, taking courage, we may say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid: what will man do unto me? Heb. 13:6
Obey your leaders, and be submissive; for *they* watch over your souls as those that shall give account; that they may do this with joy, and not groaning, for this would be unprofitable for you. Heb. 13:17
But I much more beseech you to do this, that I may the more quickly be restored to you. Heb. 13:19
But let endurance have its perfect work, that ye may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Jas. 1:4
Behold, we put the bits in the mouths of the horses, that they may obey us, and we turn round their whole bodies. Jas. 3:3
Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask evilly, that ye may consume it in your pleasures. Jas. 4:3
Confess therefore your offences to one another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The fervent supplication of the righteous man has much power. Jas. 5:16
as newborn babes desire earnestly the pure mental milk of the word, that by it ye may grow up to salvation, 1 Pet. 2:2
having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that as to that in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may through your good works, themselves witnessing them, glorify God in the day of visitation. 1 Pet. 2:12
who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, in order that, being dead to sins, we may live to righteousness: by whose stripes ye have been healed. 1 Pet. 2:24
Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, that, even if any are disobedient to the word, they may be gained without the word by the conversation of the wives, 1 Pet. 3:1
having a good conscience, that as to that in which they speak against you as evildoers, they may be ashamed who calumniate your good conversation in Christ. 1 Pet. 3:16
If any one speak -- as oracles of God; if any one minister -- as of strength which God supplies; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is the glory and the might for the ages of ages. Amen. 1 Pet. 4:11
but as ye have share in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, that in the revelation of his glory also ye may rejoice with exultation. 1 Pet. 4:13
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in the due time; 1 Pet. 5:6
Be vigilant, watch. Your adversary the devil as a roaring lion walks about seeking whom he may devour. 1 Pet. 5:8
through which he has given to us the greatest and precious promises, that through these ye may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Pet. 1:4
that which we have seen and heard we report to you, that *ye* also may have fellowship with us; and our fellowship is indeed with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1 Jn. 1:3
And these things write we to you that your joy may be full. 1 Jn. 1:4
