- Prepare you victuals: for after the third day you shall pass over the Jordan, and shall go in to possess the land, which the Lord your God will give you. Josu. 1:11
- Your wives, and children; and cattle, shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan: but pass you over armed before your brethren all of you that are strong of hand, and fight for them, Josu. 1:14
- And when they were gone back into the city, the spies returned, and came down from the mountain: and passing over the Jordan, they came to Josue, the son of Nun, and told him all that befel them, Josu. 2:23
- So the people went out of their tents, to pass over the Jordan: and the priests that carried the ark of the covenant, went on before them. Josu. 3:14

- You shall answer them: The waters of the Jordan ran off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord when it passed over the same: therefore were these stones set for a monument of the children of Israel forever. Josu. 4:7
- Now the priests that carried the ark, stood in the midst of the Jordan, till all things were accomplished, which the Lord had commanded Josue to speak to the people, and Moses had said to him. And the people made haste, and passed over. Josu. 4:10
- And when they had all passed over, the ark also of the Lord passed over, and the priests went before the people. Josu. 4:11
- And the people came up out of the Jordan, the tenth day of the first month, and camped in Galgal, over against the east side of the city of Jericho. Josu. 4:19
- You shall teach them, and say: Israel passed over this Jordan through the dry channel, Josu. 4:22
- The Lord your God drying up the waters thereof in your sight, until you passed over: As he had done before in the Red Sea, which he dried up till we passed through: Josu. 4:23
- ¤ Now when all the kings of the Amorrhites, who dwelt beyond the Jordan, westward, and all the kings of Chanaan, who possessed the places near the great sea, had heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the children of Israel, till they passed over, their heart failed them, and there remained no spirit in them, fearing the coming in of the children of Israel. Josu. 5:1
- And when Josue was in the field of the city of Jericho, he lifted up his eyes, and saw a man standing over against him, holding a drawn sword, and he went to him, and said: Art thou one of ours, or of our adversaries? Josu. 5:13
- So all the people making a shout, and the trumpets sounding, when the voice and the sound thundered in the ears of the multitude, the walls forthwith fell down: and every man went up by the place that was over against him: and they took the city, Josu. 6:20
- And Josue said: Alas, O Lord God, why wouldst thou bring this people over the river Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorrhite, and to destroy us? would God we had stayed beyond the Jordan, as we began. Josu. 7:7
- And when they were come, and were gone up over against the city, they stood on the north side of the city, between which and them there was a valley in the midst. Josu. 8:11
- ¤ When Adonisedec, king of Jerusalem, had heard these things, to wit, that Josue had taken Hai, and had destroyed it, (for as he had done to Jericho and the king thereof, so did he to Hai and its king) and that the Gabaonites were gone over to Israel, and were their confederates, Josu. 10:1
- Come up to me, and bring help, that we may take Gabaon, because it hath gone over to Josue, and to the children of Israel. Josu. 10:4
- And to the kings of the north, that dwelt in the mountains and in the plains over against the south side of Ceneroth, and in the levels and the countries of Dor by the sea side: Josu. 11:2
- The border of Jaser, and all the cities of Galaad, and half the land of the children of Ammon: as far as Aroer which is over against Rabba: Josu. 13:25
- This possession Moses divided in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, over against Jericho on the east side, Josu. 13:32
- And it goeth up by the valley of the son of Ennom on the side of the Jebusite towards the south, the same is Jerusalem: and thence ascending to the top of the mountain, which is over against Geennom to the west in the end of the valley of Raphaim, northward. Josu. 15:8
- ¤ And the lot of the sons of Joseph fell from the Jordan over against Jericho and the waters thereof, on the east: the wilderness which goeth up from Jericho to the mountain of Bethel: Josu. 16:1
- And it goeth down to that part of the mountain that looketh on the valley of the children of Ennom: and is over against the north quarter in the furthermost part of the valley of Raphaim, and it goeth down into Geennom (that is the valley of Ennom) by the side of the Jebusite to the south: and cometh to the fountain of Rogel, Josu. 18:16
- And It passeth along to the hills that are over against the ascent of Adommim: and it goeth down to Abenboen, that is, the stone of Boen the son of Ruben: and it passeth on the north side to the champaign countries; and goeth down Into the plain, Josu. 18:18
- And It went up from the sea and from Merala, and came to Debbaseth: as far as the torrent, which is over against Jeconam. Josu. 19:11
- Of the tribe of Ruben beyond the Jordan over against Jericho, Bosor in the wilderness, one of the cities of refuge, Misor and Jaser and Josu. 21:36
- And when the children of Israel had heard of it, and certain messengers brought them an account that the children of Ruben, and of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses had built an altar in the land of Chanaan, upon the banks of the Jordan, over against the children of Israel: Josu. 22:11
- But if you think the land of your possession to be unclean, pass over to the land wherein is the tabernacle of the Lord, and dwell among us: only depart not from the Lord, and from our society, by building an altar beside the altar of the Lord our God. Josu. 22:19
- And you passed over the Jordan, and you came to Jericho. And the men of that city fought against you, the Amorrhite, and the Pherezite, and the Chanaanite, and the Hethite, and the Gergesite, and the Hevite, and the Jebusite: and I delivered them into your hands. Josu. 24:11

- Insomuch that the children of Ammon, passing over the Jordan, wasted Juda, and Benjamin, and Ephraim: and Israel was distressed exceedingly. Judg. 10:9
- And the princes of Galaad said to Jephte: For this cause we are now come to thee, that thou mayst go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be head over all the inhabitants of Galaad. Judg. 11:8

- To morrow about this same hour I will send thee a man of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be ruler over my people Israel: and he shall save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked down upon my people, because their cry is come to me. 1 Ki. 9:16
- And when Samuel saw Saul, the Lord said to him: Behold the man, of whom I spoke to thee, this man shall reign over my people. 1 Ki. 9:17
- ¤ And Samuel took a little vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said: Behold, the Lord hath anointed thee to be prince over his inheritance, and thou shalt deliver his people out of the hands of their enemies, that are round about them. And this shall be a sign unto thee, that God hath anointed thee to be prince. 1 Ki. 10:1
- But you this day have rejected your God, who only hath saved you out of all your evils and your tribulations: and you have said: Nay: but set a king over us. Now therefore stand before the Lord by your tribes, and by your families. 1 Ki. 10:19
- And the people said to Samuel: Who is he that said: Shall Saul reign over us? Bring the men, and we will kill them. 1 Ki. 11:12
- ¤ And Samuel said to all Israel: Behold I have hearkened to your voice in all that you said to me, and have made a king over you. 1 Ki. 12:1
- But seeing that Naas, king of the children of Ammon, was come against you, you said to me: Nay, but a king shall reign over us: whereas the Lord your God was your king. 1 Ki. 12:12
- If you will fear the Lord, and serve him, and hearken to his voice, and not provoke the mouth of the Lord: then shall both you, and the king who reigneth over you, be followers of the Lord your God. 1 Ki. 12:14
- Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call upon the Lord, and he shall send thunder and rain: and you shall know, and see that you yourselves have done a great evil in the sight of the Lord, in desiring a king over you. 1 Ki. 12:17
- ¤ Saul was a child of one year when he began to reign, and he reigned two years over Israel. 1 Ki. 13:1
- And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines which was in Gabaa. And when the Philistines had heard of it, Saul sounded the trumpet over all the land, saying: Let the Hebrews hear. 1 Ki. 13:3
- And some of the Hebrews passed over the Jordan into the land of Gad and Galaad. And when Saul was yet in Galgal, all the people that followed him were greatly afraid. 1 Ki. 13:7
- And Samuel said to Saul: Thou hast done foolishly, and hast not kept the commandments of the Lord thy God, which he commanded thee. And if thou hadst not done thus, the Lord would now have established thy kingdom over Israel for ever: 1 Ki. 13:13
- But thy kingdom shall not continue. The Lord hath sought him a man according to his own heart: and him hath the Lord commanded to be prince over his people, because thou hast not observed that which the Lord commanded. 1 Ki. 13:14
- ¤ Now it came to pass one day that Jonathan, the son of Saul, said to the young man that bore his armour: Come, and let us go over to the garrison of the Philistines, which is on the other side of yonder place. But he told not this to his father. 1 Ki. 14:1
- Now there were between the ascents, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the garrison of the Philistines, rocks standing up on both sides, and steep cliffs like teeth on the one side, and on the other, the name of the one was Boses, and the name of the other was Sene: 1 Ki. 14:4
- One rock stood out toward the north, over against Machmas, and the other to the south, over against Gabaa. 1 Ki. 14:5
- And Jonathan said to the young man that bore his armour: Come, let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised, it may be the Lord will do for us: because it is easy for the Lord to save either by many, or by few. 1 Ki. 14:6
- And Jonathan said: Behold we will go over to these men. And when we shall be seen by them, 1 Ki. 14:8
- And Saul having his kingdom established over Israel, fought against all his enemies round about, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and Edom, and the kings of Soba, and the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he overcame. 1 Ki. 14:47
- ¤ And Samuel said to Saul: The Lord sent me to anoint thee king over his people Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the Lord: 1 Ki. 15:1
- And Saul smote Amalec from Hevila, until thou comest to Sur, which is over against Egypt. 1 Ki. 15:7
- And Samuel said: When thou wast a little one in thy own eyes, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel? And the Lord anointed thee to be king over Israel. 1 Ki. 15:17
- And Samuel said to Saul: I will not return with thee, because thou hath rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. 1 Ki. 15:26
- And Samuel saw Saul no more till the day of his death: nevertheless, Samuel mourned for Saul, because the Lord repented that he had made him king over Israel. 1 Ki. 15:35
- ¤ And the Lord said to Samuel: How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, whom I have rejected from reigning over Israel? fill thy horn with oil, and come, that I may send thee to Isai, the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. 1 Ki. 16:1
- And David prevailed over the Philistine, with a sling and a stone, and he struck, and slew the Philistine. And as David had no sword in his hand, 1 Ki. 17:50
- He ran, and stood over the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath, and slew him, and cut off his head. And the Philistines seeing that their champion was dead, fled away. 1 Ki. 17:51
- And David went out to whatsoever business Saul sent him, and he behaved himself prudently: and Saul set him over the soldiers, and he was acceptable in the eyes of all the people, and especially in the eyes of Saul's servants. 1 Ki. 18:5
- Therefore Saul removed him from him, and made him a captain over a thousand men, and he went out and came in before the people. 1 Ki. 18:13
- So Saul sent officers to take David: and when they saw a company of prophets prophesying, and Samuel presiding over them, the Spirit of the Lord came also upon them, and they likewise began to prophesy. 1 Ki. 19:20
- Fear not: for the hand of my father, Saul, shall not find thee, and thou shalt reign over Israel, and I shall be next to thee; yea and my father knoweth this. 1 Ki. 23:17
- And when she had gotten upon an ass, and was coming down to the foot of the mountain, David and his men came down over against her, and she met them. 1 Ki. 25:20
- And when the Lord shall have done to thee, my lord, all the good that he hath spoken concerning thee, and shall have made thee prince over Israel, 1 Ki. 25:30

- And Saul encamped in Gabaa Hachila, which was over against the wilderness in the way: and David abode in the wilderness. And seeing that Saul was come after him into the wilderness, 1 Ki. 26:3
- And when David was gone over to the other side, and stood on the top of the hill afar off, and a good space was between them, 1 Ki. 26:13
- And David answering, said: Behold the king's spear: let one of the king's servants come over and fetch it. 1 Ki. 26:22
- And Samuel said: Why askest thou me, seeing the Lord has departed from thee, and is gone over to thy rival? 1 Ki. 28:16

- But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred stayed, who, being weary, could not go over the torrent Besor. 1 Ki. 30:10

- And the men of Juda came, and anointed David there, to be king over the house of Juda. And it was told David that the men of Jabes Galaad had buried Saul. 2 Ki. 2:4
- And made him king over Galaad, and over Gessuri, and over Jezrahel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel. 2 Ki. 2:9
- Isboseth the son of Saul was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and he reigned two years; and only the house of Juda followed David. 2 Ki. 2:10
- And the number of the days that David abode, reigning in Hebron over the house of Juda, was seven years and six months. 2 Ki. 2:11
- And Joab the son of Sarvia, and the servants of David went out, and met them by the pool of Gabaon. And when they were come together, they sat down over against one another: the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side. 2 Ki. 2:13

- From the day that I appointed judges over my people Israel: and I will give thee rest from all thy enemies. And the Lord foretelleth to thee, that the Lord will make thee a house. 2 Ki. 7:11
- That thy name may be magnified for ever, and it may be said: The Lord of hosts is God over Israel. And the house of thy servant David shall be established before the Lord. 2 Ki. 7:26
- David defeated also Adarezer the son of Rohob king of Soba, when he went to extend his dominion over the river Euphrates. 2 Ki. 8:3
- And David reigned over all Israel: and David did judgment and justice to all his people. 2 Ki. 8:15
- And Joab the son of Sarvia was over the army: and Josaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder: 2 Ki. 8:16
- And Banaias the son of Joiada was over the Cerethi and Phelethi: and the sons of David were the princes. 2 Ki. 8:18
- And Adarezer sent and fetched the Syrians, that were beyond the river, and brought over their army: and Sobach, the captain of the host of Adarezer, was their general. 2 Ki. 10:16
- And when this was told David, he gathered all Israel together, and passed over the Jordan, and came to Helam: and the Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought against him. 2 Ki. 10:17
- In the mean time it happened that David arose from his bed after noon, and walked upon the roof of the king's house: And he saw from the roof of his house a woman washing herself, over against him: and the woman was very beautiful. 2 Ki. 11:2
- And the mourning being over, David sent and brought her into his house, and she became his wife, and she bore him a son: and this thing which David had done, was displeasing to the Lord. 2 Ki. 11:27
- And Nathan said to David: Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel: I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee from the hand of Saul, 2 Ki. 12:7
- And bringing forth the people thereof he sawed them, and drove over them chariots armed with iron: and divided them with knives, and made them pass through brickkilns: so did he to all the cities of the children of Ammon: and David returned, with all the army to Jerusalem. 2 Ki. 12:31
- O that they would make me judge over the land, that all that have business might come to me, that I might do them justice. 2 Ki. 15:4

- So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people. 1 Par. 18:14

- And Banaias the son of Joiada was over the bands of the Cerethi, and the Phelethi: and the sons of David were chief about the king. 1 Par. 18:17
- And they hired two and thirty thousand chariots, and the king of Maacha, with his people. And they came and camped over against Medaba. And the children of Ammon gathered themselves together out of their cities, and came to battle. 1 Par. 19:7
- And when the servants of Adarezer saw themselves overcome by Israel, they went over to David, and served him: and Syria would not help the children of Ammon any more. 1 Par. 19:19
- And the people that were therein he brought out: and made harrows, and sleds, and chariots of iron to go over them, so that they were cut and bruised to pieces: in this manner David dealt with all the cities of the children of Ammon: and he returned with all his people to Jerusalem. 1 Par. 20:3
- He shall build a house to my name, and he shall be a son to me, and I will be a father to him: and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever. 1 Par. 22:10
- ¤ And David being old and full of days, made Solomon his son king over Israel. 1 Par. 23:1
- And Semeias the son of Nathanael the scribe a Levite, wrote them down before the king and the princes, and Sadoc the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the princes also of the priestly and Levitical families: one house, which was over the rest, of Eleazar: and another house, which had the rest under it, of Ithamar. 1 Par. 24:6

- And over the king's treasures was Azmoth the son of Adiel: and over those stores which were in the cities, and in the villages, and, in the castles, was Jonathan the son of Ozias. 1 Par. 27:25

- ¤ And David assembled all the chief men of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies, who waited on the king: and the captains over thousands, and over hundreds, and them who had the charge over the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons with the officers of the court, and the men of power, and all the bravest of the army at Jerusalem. 1 Par. 28:1
- But the Lord God of Israel chose me of all the house of my father, to be king over Israel for ever: for of Juda he chose the princes: and of the house of Juda, my father's house: and among the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me king over all Israel. 1 Par. 28:4

- Tobias also the Ammonite who was by him said: Let them build: if a fox go up, he will leap over their stone wall. 2 Esd. 4:3
- It is reported amongst the Gentiles, and Gossem hath said it, that thou and the Jews think to rebel, and therefore thou buildest the wall, and hast a mind to set thyself king over them: for which end 2 Esd. 6:6
- And I said to them: Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened till the sun be hot. And while they were yet standing by the gates were shut, and barred: and I set watchmen of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one by their courses, and every man over against his house. 2 Esd. 7:3

- For as the kings insulted over holy Job: so his relations and kinsmen mocked at his life, saying: Tob. 2:15

- And there was no one that triumphed over this people, but when they departed from the worship of the Lord their God. Jud. 5:17
