• You shall do no servile work in the time of this day: because it is a day of propitiation, that the Lord your God may be merciful unto you. Lev. 23:28
• Whom God hath proposed to be a propitiation, through faith in his blood, to the shewing of his justice, for the remission of former sins, through the forbearance of God, Rom. 3:25
• Wherefore, it behoved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest before God, that he might be a propitiation for the sins of the people. Heb. 2:17
