It shall not be so, but go ye men only, and sacrifice to the Lord: for this yourselves also desired. And immediately they were cast out from Pharao's presence. Ex. 10:11
And he made a very strong wind to blow from the west, and it took the locusts and cast them into the Red Sea: there remained not so much as one in all the coasts of Egypt. Ex. 10:19
And the Lord said to Moses: Stretch out thy hand towards heaven: and may there be darkness upon the land of Egypt so thick that it may be felt. Ex. 10:21

And they also that had taken and set the city on fire, issuing out of the city to meet their own men, began to cut off the enemies who were surrounded by them. So that the enemies being cut off on both sides, not one of so great a multitude was saved. Josu. 8:22
So all being slain that had pursued after Israel, in his flight to the wilderness, and falling by the sword in the same place, the children of Israel returned and laid waste the city. Josu. 8:24
Perhaps you dwell in the land which falls to our lot; if so, we can make no league with you. Josu. 9:7
But so let them live, as to serve the whole multitude in hewing wood, and bringing in water. As they were speaking these things, Josu. 9:21
So Josue did as he had said, and delivered them from the hand of the children of Israel, that they should not be slain. Josu. 9:26

So the enemies being slain with a great slaughter, and almost utterly consumed, they that were able to escape from Israel, entered into fenced cities. Josu. 10:20
He said again to them: Fear not, neither be ye dismayed, take courage, and be strong: for so will the Lord do to all your enemies, against whom you fight. Josu. 10:25
At that time Horam, king of Gazer, came up to succour Lachis: and Josue slew him with all his people so as to leave none alive. Josu. 10:33
Took it, and destroyed it with the edge of the sword: the king also thereof, and all the towns of that country, and all the souls that dwelt in it: he left not therein any remains: as he had done to Eglon, so did he also to Hebron, putting to the sword all that he found in it. Josu. 10:37

And the Lord delivered them into the hands of Israel. And they defeated them, and chased them as far as the great Sidon and the waters of Maserophot, and the field of Masphe, which is on the east thereof. He slew them all, so as to leave no remains of them: Josu. 11:8
As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Josue, and he accomplished all: he left not one thing undone of all the commandments which the Lord had commanded Moses. Josu. 11:15
So Josue took all the country of the hills, and of the south, and the land of Gosen, and the plains and the west country, and the mountain of Israel, and the plains thereof: Josu. 11:16
So Josue took all the land, as the Lord spoke to Moses, and delivered it in possession to the children of Israel, according to their divisions and tribes. And the land rested from wars. Josu. 11:23
Of all that dwell in the mountains from Libanus, to the waters of Maserephoth, and all the Sidonians. I am he that will cut them off from before the face of the children of Israel. So let their land come in as a part of the inheritance of Israel, as I have commanded thee. Josu. 13:6

So that the possession of Ephraim is on the south, and on the north that of Manasses, and the sea is the border of both, and they are joined together in the tribe of Aser on the north, and in the tribe of Issachar on the east. Josu. 17:10
And the children of Joseph spoke to Josue, and said: Why hast thou given me but one lot and one portion to possess, whereas I am of so great a multitude, and the Lord hath blessed me? Josu. 17:14
So they went and surveying it divided it into seven parts, writing them down in a book. And they returned to Josue, to the camp in Silo. Josu. 18:9
And when he shall flee to one of these cities: he shall stand before the gate of the city, and shall speak to the ancients of that city, such things as prove him innocent: and so shall they receive him, and give him a place to dwell in. Josu. 20:4
So all the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty-eight, Josu. 21:41
Not so much as one word, which he had promised to perform unto them, was made void, but all came to pass. Josu. 21:45
Yet so that you observe attentively, and in work fulfil the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you: that you love the Lord your God, and walk in all his ways, and keep all his commandments, and cleave to him, and serve him with all your heart, and with all your soul. So the children of Ruben, and the children of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses returned, and parted from the children of Israel in Silo, which is in Chanaan, to go into Galaad the land of their possession, which they had obtained according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses. And if they will say so, they shall answer them: Behold the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for holocausts, nor for sacrifice, but for a testimony between us and you. Josu. 22:28
Therefore as he hath fulfilled in deed, what he promised, and all things prosperous have come: so will he bring upon you all the evils he hath threatened, till he take you away and destroy you from off this excellent land, which he hath given you, Josu. 23:15
And the people said to Josue: No, it shall not be so as thou sayest, but we will serve the Lord. Josu. 24:21

So Israel sent messengers to Sehon, king of the Amorrhites, who dwelt in Hesebon, and they said to him: Suffer me to pass through thy land to the river. Judg. 11:19

So they passed by Jebus, and went on their journey, and the sun went down upon them when they were by Gabaa, which is in the tribe of Benjamin: Judg. 19:14
And the old man went out to them, and said: Do not so, my brethren, do not so wickedly: because this man is come into my lodging, and cease I pray you from this folly. Judg. 19:23
(Nor were the children of Benjamin ignorant that the children of Israel were come up to Maspha.) And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was killed being asked, how so great a wickedness had been committed, Judg. 20:3
And behold the men of that city, in the night beset the house wherein I was, intending to kill me, and abused my wife with an incredible fury of lust, so that at last she died. Judg. 20:5
And I took her and cut her in pieces, and sent the parts into all the borders of your possession: because there never was so heinous a crime, and so great an abomination committed in Israel. Judg. 20:6

And the children of Benjamin boldly issued out of the city, and seeing their enemies flee, pursued them a long way, so as to wound and kill some of them, as they had done the first and second day, whilst they fled by two highways, whereof one goeth up to Bethel and the other to Gabaa, and they slew about thirty men: Judg. 20:31
And so it was, that they were slain on both sides by the enemies, and there was no rest of their men dying. They fell and were beaten down on the east side of the city of Gabaa. Judg. 20:43

So Samuel told him all the words, and did not hide them from him. And he answered: It is the Lord: let him do what is good in his sight. 1 Ki. 3:18
So the people sent to Silo, and they brought from thence the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, sitting upon the cherubims: and the two sons of Heli, Ophni and Phinees, were with the ark of the covenant of God. 1 Ki. 4:4
So the Philistines fought, and Israel was overthrown, and every man fled to his own dwelling: and there was an exceeding great slaughter; for there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen. 1 Ki. 4:10
According to all their works, they have done from the day that I brought them out of Egypt until this day: as they have forsaken me, and served strange gods, so do they also unto thee. 1 Ki. 8:8
So when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave unto him another heart, and all these things came to pass that day. 1 Ki. 10:9

And it came to pass, when the morrow was come, that Saul put the people in three companies: and he came into the midst of the camp in the morning watch, and he slew the Ammonites until the day grew hot, and the rest were scattered, so that two of them were not left together. 1 Ki. 11:11
So all Israel went down to the Philistines, to sharpen every man his ploughshare, and his spade, and his axe, and his rake. 1 Ki. 13:20
So that their shares, and their spades, and their forks, and their axes, were blunt, even to the goad, which was to be mended. 1 Ki. 13:21
So both of them discovered themselves to the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said: Behold the Hebrews come forth out of the holes wherein they were hid. 1 Ki. 14:11
And the men of Israel were joined together that day: and Saul adjured the people, saying: Cursed be the man that shall eat food till evening, till I be revenged of my enemies. So none of the people tasted any food. 1 Ki. 14:24
So they smote that day the Philistines, from Machmas to Aialon. And the people were wearied exceedingly. 1 Ki. 14:31
And Saul said: Disperse yourselves among the people, and tell them to bring me every man his ox and his ram and slay them upon this stone, and eat, and you shall not sin against the Lord, in eating with the blood. So all the people brought every man his ox with him till the night: and slew them there. 1 Ki. 14:34
And Saul said: May God do so and so to me, and add still more: for dying thou shalt die, O Jonathan. 1 Ki. 14:44
And the people said to Saul: Shall Jonathan then die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? this must not be: As the Lord liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground, for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people delivered Jonathan, that he should not die. 1 Ki. 14:45
So Saul commanded the people, and numbered them as lambs: two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand of the men of Juda. 1 Ki. 15:4
So Samuel turned again after Saul: and Saul adored the Lord. 1 Ki. 15:31
And Samuel said: As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed him in pieces before the Lord in Galgal. 1 Ki. 15:33
So whensoever the evil spirit from the Lord was upon Saul, David took his harp, and played with his hand, and Saul was refreshed, and was better, for the evil spirit departed from him. 1 Ki. 16:23
But David was the youngest. So the three eldest having followed Saul, 1 Ki. 17:14
And Saul said to Michol: Why hast thou deceived me so, and let my enemy go and flee away? And Michol answered Saul: Because he said to me: Let me go, or else I will kill thee. 1 Ki. 19:17
So Saul sent officers to take David: and when they saw a company of prophets prophesying, and Samuel presiding over them, the Spirit of the Lord came also upon them, and they likewise began to prophesy. 1 Ki. 19:20
May the Lord do so and so to Jonathan, and add still more. But if my father shall continue in malice against thee, I will discover it to thy ear, and will send thee away, that thou mayst go in peace, and the Lord be with thee, as he hath been with my father. 1 Ki. 20:13
For thy seat will be empty till after to morrow. So thou shalt go down quickly, and come to the place where thou must be hid, on the day when it is lawful to work, and thou shalt remain beside the stone, which is called Ezel. 1 Ki. 20:19
So David was hid in the field, and the new moon came, and the king sat down to eat bread. 1 Ki. 20:24
So Jonathan rose from the table in great anger, and did not eat bread on the second day after the new moon. For he was grieved for David, because his father had put him to confusion. 1 Ki. 20:34
And Achimelech answering the king, said: And who amongst all thy servants is so faithful as David, who is the king's son in law, and goeth forth at thy bidding, and is honourable in thy house? 1 Ki. 22:14
And David swore to Saul. So Saul went home: and David and his men went up into safer places. 1 Ki. 24:22
So the servants of David went back their way, and returning came and told him all the words that he said. 1 Ki. 25:12
Wherefore consider, and think what thou hast to do: for evil is determined against thy husband, and against thy house, and he is a son of Belial, so that no man can speak to him. 1 Ki. 25:17
May God do so and so, and add more to the foes of David, if I leave of all that belong to him till the morning, any that pisseth against the wall. 1 Ki. 25:22
So David and Abisai came to the people by night, and found Saul lying and sleeping in the tent, and his spear fixed in the ground at his head: and Abner and the people sleeping round about him. 1 Ki. 26:7
So David took the spear, and the cup of water which was at Saul's head, and they went away: and no man saw it, or knew it, or awaked, but they were all asleep, for a deep sleep from the Lord was fallen upon them. 1 Ki. 26:12
And as thy life hath been much set by this day in my eyes, so let my life be much set by in the eyes of the Lord, and let him deliver me from all distress. 1 Ki. 26:24
And David saved neither man nor woman, neither brought he any of them to Geth, saying: Lest they should speak against us. So did David, and such was his proceeding all the days that he dwelt in the country of the Philistines. 1 Ki. 27:11
Then Achis called David, and said to him: As the Lord liveth, thou art upright and good in my sight: and so is thy going out, and thy coming in with me in the army: and I have not found any evil in thee, since the day that thou camest to me unto this day: but thou pleasest not the lords. 1 Ki. 29:6
So David and his men arose in the night, that they might set forward in the morning, and returned to the land of the Philistines: and the Philistines went up to Jezrahel. 1 Ki. 29:11
So when David and his men came to the city, and found it burnt with fire, and that their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives, 1 Ki. 30:3
So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and they came to the torrent Besor: and some, being weary, stayed there. 1 Ki. 30:9
So David recovered all that the Amalecites had taken, and he rescued his two wives. 1 Ki. 30:18

So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men that same day together. 1 Ki. 31:6
So standing over him, I killed him: for I knew that he could not live after the fall: and I took the diadem that was on his head, and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them hither to thee, my lord. 2 Ki. 1:10
And David calling one of his servants, said: Go near and fall upon him. And he struck him so that he died. 2 Ki. 1:15
I grieve for thee, my brother Jonathan: exceeding beautiful, and amiable to me above the love of women. As the mother loveth her only son, so did I love thee. 2 Ki. 1:26
So David went up, and his two wives Achinoam the Jezrahelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal of Carmel: 2 Ki. 2:2
So do God to Abner, and more also, unless as the Lord hath sworn to David, so I do to him, 2 Ki. 3:9
And he said: Very well: I will make a league with thee: but one thing I require of thee, saying: Thou shalt not see my face before thou bring Michol the daughter of Saul: and so thou shalt come, and see me. 2 Ki. 3:13
So Joab and Abisai his brother slew Abner, because he had killed their brother Asael at Gabaon in the battle. 2 Ki. 3:30
Thy hands were not bound, nor thy feet laden with fetters: but as men fall before the children of iniquity, so didst thou fall. And all the people repeating it wept over him. 2 Ki. 3:34
And when all the people came to take meat with David, while it was yet broad day, David swore, saying: So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread or any thing else before sunset. 2 Ki. 3:35
And it was told king David, that the Lord had blessed Obededom, and all that he had, because of the ark of God. So David went, and brought away the ark of God out of the house of Obededom into the city of David with joy. And there were with David seven choirs, and calves for victims. 2 Ki. 6:12
According to all these words and according to all this vision so did Nathan speak to David. 2 Ki. 7:17
For thy word's sake, and according to thy own heart thou hast done all these great things, so that thou wouldst make it known to thy servant. 2 Ki. 7:21

And bringing forth the people thereof he sawed them, and drove over them chariots armed with iron: and divided them with knives, and made them pass through brickkilns: so did he to all the cities of the children of Ammon: and David returned, with all the army to Jerusalem. 2 Ki. 12:31
And he was exceedingly fond of her, so that he fell sick for the love of her: for as she was a virgin, he thought it hard to do any thing dishonestly with her. 2 Ki. 13:2
And he said to him: Why dost thou grow so lean from day to day, O son of the king? why dost thou not tell me the reason of it? And Ammon said to him: I am in love with Thamar the sister of my brother Absalom. 2 Ki. 13:4
So Ammon lay down, and made as if he were sick: and when the king came to visit him, Ammon said to the king: I pray thee let my sister Thamar come, and make in my sight two little messes, that I may eat at her hand. 2 Ki. 13:6
She answered him: Do not so, my brother, do not force me: for no such thing must be done in Israel. Do not thou this folly. 2 Ki. 13:12
Then Ammon hated her with an exceeding great hatred: so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her before. And Ammon said to her: Arise, and get thee gone. 2 Ki. 13:15
And Absalom her brother said to her: Hath thy brother Ammon lain with thee? but now, sister, hold thy peace, he is thy brother: and afflict not thy heart for this thing. So Thamar remained pining away in the house of Absalom her brother. 2 Ki. 13:20
But Absalom pressed him, so that he let Ammon and all the king's sons go with him. And Absalom made a feast as it were the feast of a king. 2 Ki. 13:27
And Jonadab said to the king: Behold the king's sons are come: as thy servant said, so it is. 2 Ki. 13:35
Then let thy handmaid say, that the word of the Lord the king be made as a sacrifice. For even as an angel of God, so is my lord the king, that he is neither moved with blessing nor cursing: wherefore the Lord thy God is also with thee. 2 Ki. 14:17
But the king said: Let him return into his house, and let him not see my face. So Absalom returned into his house, and saw not the king's face. 2 Ki. 14:24
But in all Israel there was not a man so comely, and so exceedingly beautiful as Absalom: from the sole of the foot to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him. 2 Ki. 14:25
He said to his servants: You know the field of Joab near my field, that hath a crop of barley: go now and set it on fire. So the servants of Absalom set the corn on fire. And Joab's servants coming with their garments rent, said: The servants of Absalom have set part of the field on fire. 2 Ki. 14:30
So Joab going in to the king, told him all: and Absalom was called for, and, he went in to the king: and prostrated himself on the ground before him: and the king kissed Absalom. 2 Ki. 14:33
So Sadoc and Abiathar carried back the ark of God into Jerusalem: and they tarried there. 2 Ki. 15:29
But if thou return into the city, and wilt say to Absalom: I am thy servant, O king: as I have been thy father's servant, so I will be thy servant: thou shalt defeat the counsel of Achitophel. 2 Ki. 15:34
And the king said: What have I to do with you, ye sons of Sarvia? Let him alone and let him curse: for the Lord hath bid him curse David: and who is he that shall dare say, why hath he done so? 2 Ki. 16:10
Besides this, whom shall I serve? is it not the king's son? as I have served thy father, so will I serve thee also. 2 Ki. 16:19
So they spread a tent for Absalom on the top of the house, and he went in to his father's concubines before all Israel. 2 Ki. 16:22
Now the counsel of Achitophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man should consult God: so was all the counsel of Achitophel, both when he was with David, and when he was with Absalom. 2 Ki. 16:23
And we shall come upon him in what place soever he shall be found: and we shall cover him, as the dew falleth upon the ground, and we shall not leave of the men that are with him, not so much as one. 2 Ki. 17:12
And if he shall enter into any city, all Israel shall cast ropes round about that city, and we will draw it into the river, so that there shall not be found so much as one small stone thereof. 2 Ki. 17:13
And a woman took, and spread a covering over the mouth of the well, as it were to dry sodden barley and so the thing was not known. 2 Ki. 17:19
So David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over the Jordan, until it grew light, and not one of them was left that was not gone over the river. 2 Ki. 17:22
So the people went out into the field against Israel, and the battle was fought in the forest of Ephraim. 2 Ki. 18:6
And Joab said: Not as thou wilt, but I will set upon him in thy sight. So he took three lances in his hand, and thrust them into the heart of Absalom: and whilst he yet panted for life, sticking on the oak, 2 Ki. 18:14
Now therefore arise, and go out, and speak to the satisfaction of thy servants: for I swear to thee by the Lord, that if thou wilt not go forth, there will not tarry with thee so much as one this night: and that will be worse to thee, than all the evils that have befallen thee from thy youth until now. 2 Ki. 19:7
And say ye to Amasa: Art not thou my bone, and my flesh? So do God to me and add more, if thou be not the chief captain of the army before me always in the place of Joab. 2 Ki. 19:13
So the king went on to Galgal, and Chamaam with him. Now all the people of Juda had brought the king over, and only half of the people of Israel were there. 2 Ki. 19:40
So Amasa went to assemble the men of Juda, but he tarried beyond the set time which the king had appointed him. 2 Ki. 20:5
So Joab's men went out with him, and the Cerethi and the Phelethi: and all the valiant men went out of Jerusalem to pursue after Seba the son of Bochri. 2 Ki. 20:7
And Amasa imbrued with blood, lay in the midst of the way. A certain man saw this that all the people stood still to look upon him, so he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and covered him with a garment, that they who passed might, not stop on his account. 2 Ki. 20:12
And she again said: A saying was used in the old proverb: They that inquire, let them inquire in Abela: and so they made an end. 2 Ki. 20:18
The matter is not so, but a man of mount Ephraim, Seba the son of Bochri by name, hath lifted up his hand against king David: deliver him only, and we will depart from the city. And the woman said to Joab: Behold his head shall be thrown to thee from the wall. 2 Ki. 20:21
So she went to all the people, and spoke to them wisely: and they cut off the head of Seba the son of Bochri, and cast it out to Joab. And he sounded the trumpet, and they departed from the city, every one to their home: and Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king. 2 Ki. 20:22
So Joab was over all the army of Israel: and Banaias the son of Joiada was over the Cerethites and Phelethites, 2 Ki. 20:23
And they said to the king: The man that crushed us and oppressed us unjustly, we must destroy in such manner that there be not so much as one left of his stock in all the coasts of Israel. 2 Ki. 21:5
So the king took the two sons of Respha the daughter of Aia, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni, and Miphiboseth: and the five sons of Michol the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Hadriel the son of Berzellai, that was of Molathi: 2 Ki. 21:8
I will consume them and break them in pieces, so that they shall not rise: they shall fall under my feet. 2 Ki. 22:39
Neither is my house so great with God, that he should make with me an eternal covenant, firm in all things and assured. For he is all my salvation, and all my will: neither is there ought thereof that springeth not up. 2 Ki. 23:5
And the king answered him, and said: Nay, but I will buy it of thee, at a price, and I will not offer to the Lord my God holocausts free cost. So David bought the floor, and the oxen, for fifty sicles of silver: 2 Ki. 24:24
So they sought a beautiful young woman, in all the coasts of Israel and they found Abisag, a Sunamitess, and brought her to the king. 3 Ki. 1:3
So Bethsabee went in to the king into the chamber. Now the king was very old, and Abisag, the Sunamitess, ministered to him. 3 Ki. 1:15
Even as I swore to thee, by the Lord, the God of Israel, saying: Solomon thy son, shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead, so will I do this day. 3 Ki. 1:30
And Banaias, the son of Joiada, answered the king, saying: Amen: so say the Lord, the God of my lord the king. 3 Ki. 1:36
As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, so be he with Solomon, and make his throne higher than the throne of my lord king David. 3 Ki. 1:37
So Sadoc, the priest, and Nathan, the prophet, went down, and Banaias, the son of Joiada, and the Cerethi, and Phelethi: and they set Solomon upon the mule of king David, and brought him to Gihon. 3 Ki. 1:38
And Jonathan answered Adonias: Not so: for our lord, king David, hath appointed Solomon king; 3 Ki. 1:43
And Sadoc, the priest, and Nathan, the prophet, have anointed him king, in Gihon: and they are gone up from thence rejoicing, so that the city rang again: this is the noise that you have heard. 3 Ki. 1:45
And Solomon said: If he be a good man, there shall not so much as one hair of his head fall to the ground: but if evil be found in him, he shall die. 3 Ki. 1:52
So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David. 3 Ki. 2:10
Then king Solomon swore by the Lord, saying: So and so may God do to me, and add more, if Adonias hath not spoken this word against his own life. 3 Ki. 2:23
So Solomon cast out Abiathar from being the priest of the Lord, that the word of the Lord might be fulfilled, which he spoke concerning the house of Heli in Silo. 3 Ki. 2:27
So Banaias, the son of Joiada, went up, and setting upon him slew him, and he was buried in his house in the desert. 3 Ki. 2:34
And Semei said to the king: The saying is good: as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do. And Semei dwelt in Jerusalem many days. 3 Ki. 2:38
So the king commanded Banaias, the son of Joiada: and he went out and struck him; and he died. 3 Ki. 2:46
Give therefore to thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, and discern between good and evil. For who shall be able to judge this people, thy people, which is so numerous? 3 Ki. 3:9
Behold I have done for thee according to thy words, and have given thee a wise and understanding heart, in so much that there hath been no one like thee before thee, nor shall arise after thee. 3 Ki. 3:12
Yea, and the things also which thou didst not ask, I have given thee; to wit, riches and glory: so that no one hath been like thee among the kings in all days heretofore. 3 Ki. 3:13
And the other woman answered: It is not so as thou sayest, but thy child is dead, and mine is alive. On the contrary, she said; Thou liest: for my child liveth, and thy child is dead. And in this manner they strove before the king. 3 Ki. 3:22
So Hiram gave Solomon cedar trees, and fir trees, according to all his desire. 3 Ki. 5:10
And he sent them to Libanus, ten thousand every month, by turns, so that two months they were at home: and Adoniram was over this levy. 3 Ki. 5:14
And the house, when it was in building, was built of stones, hewed and made ready: so that there was neither hammer nor axe, nor any tool of iron heard in the house when it was in building. 3 Ki. 6:7
So he built the house, and finished it: and he covered the house with roofs of cedar. 3 Ki. 6:9
So Solomon built the house, and finished it. 3 Ki. 6:14
And two doors of fir tree, one of each side: and each door was double, and so opened with folding leaves. 3 Ki. 6:34
And upon the tops of the pillars he made lily work: so the work of the pillars was finished. 3 Ki. 7:22
And in the top of the base, there was a round compass of half a cubit, so wrought that the laver might be set thereon, having its gravings, and divers sculptures of itself. 3 Ki. 7:35
He engraved also in those plates, which were of brass, and in the corners, cherubims, and lions, and palm trees, in likeness of a man standing, so that they seemed not to be engraven, but added round about. 3 Ki. 7:36
Now, therefore, O Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David, my father, what thou hast spoken to him, saying: There shall not be taken away of thee a man in my sight, to sit on the throne of Israel: yet so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked in my sight. 3 Ki. 8:25

So the king of Israel, and Josaphat, king of Juda, went up to Ramoth-Galaad. 3 Ki. 22:29
So when the captains of the chariots saw Josaphat, they suspected that he was the king of Israel, and making a violent assault, they fought against him: and Josaphat cried out. 3 Ki. 22:32

So Jehu, the son of Josaphat, the son of Namsi, conspired against Joram. Now Joram had besieged Ramoth Galaad, he, and all Israel, fighting with Hazael, king of Syria: 4 Ki. 9:14
So there went one in a chariot to meet him, and said: Thus saith the king: Are all things peaceable? And Jehu said: What hast thou to do with peace? go behind and follow me. And the watchman told, saying: The messenger came to them, but he returneth not. 4 Ki. 9:18
And when Joram saw Jehu, he said: Is there peace, Jehu? And he answered: What peace? so long as the fornications of Jezabel, thy mother, and her many sorceries, are in their vigour. 4 Ki. 9:22
If I do not requite thee in this field, saith the Lord, for the blood of Naboth, and for the blood of his children, which I saw yesterday, saith the Lord. So now take him, and cast him into the field, according to the word of the Lord. 4 Ki. 9:26
And the flesh of Jezabel shall be as dung upon the face of the earth in the field of Jezrahel; so that they who pass by shall say: Is this that same Jezabel? 4 Ki. 9:37
¤ And Achab had seventy sons in Samaria: so Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, to the chief men of the city, and to the ancients, and to them that brought up Achab's children, saying: 4 Ki. 10:1
So Jehu slew all that were left of the house of Achab in Jezrahel, and all his chief men, and his friends, and his priests, till there were no remains left of him. 4 Ki. 10:11

But Josaba the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ochozias, took Joas, the son of Ochozias, and stole him from among the king's sons that were slain, out of the bedchamber with his nurse: and hid him from the face of Athalia; so that he was not slain. 4 Ki. 11:2
But Amasias did not rest satisfied. So Joas, king of Israel, went up; and he and Amasias, king of Juda, saw one another in Bethsames, a town in Juda. 4 Ki. 14:11
And the Lord struck the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and he dwelt in a free house apart: but Joatham, the king's son, governed the palace, and judged the people of the land. 4 Ki. 15:5

For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the Lord, their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharao, king of Egypt; and they worshipped strange gods. 4 Ki. 17:7
So one of the priests, who had been carried away captive from Samaria, came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should worship the Lord. 4 Ki. 17:28

So the servants of king Ezechias came to Isaias. 4 Ki. 19:5
And Isaias said to him: This shall be the sign from the Lord, that the Lord will do the word which he hath spoken: Wilt thou that the shadow go forward ten lines, or that it go back so many degrees? 4 Ki. 20:9
So Helcias, the priest, and Ahicam, and Achobor, and Saphan, and Asaia, went to Holda, the prophetess, the wife of Sellum, the son of Thecua, the son of Araas, keeper of the wardrobe, who dwelt in Jerusalem, in the Second: and they spoke to her. 4 Ki. 22:14
And he said: Let him alone, let no man move his bones. So his bones were left untouched with the bones of the prophet, that came out of Samaria. 4 Ki. 23:18

The wings of the cherubims were extended twenty cubits, so that one wing was five cubits long, and reached to the wall of the house: and the other was also five cubits long, and reached to the wing of the other cherub. 2 Par. 3:11
So the wings of the two cherubims were spread forth, and were extended twenty cubits: and they stood upright on their feet, and their faces were turned toward the house without. 2 Par. 3:13
And four hundred pomegranates, and two wreaths of network, so that two rows of pomegranates were joined to each wreath, to cover the pommels, and the chapiters of the pillars. 2 Par. 4:13

So when they all sounded together, both with trumpets, and voice, and cymbals, and organs, and with divers kind of musical instruments, and lifted up their voice on high: the sound was heard afar off, so that when they began to praise the Lord, and to say: Give glory to the Lord for he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever: the house of God was filled with a cloud. 2 Par. 5:13
Now then, O Lord God of Israel, fulfil to thy servant David my father, whatsoever thou hast promised him, saying: There shall not fail thee a man in my sight, to sit upon the throne of Israel: yet so that thy children take heed to their ways, and walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me. 2 Par. 6:16
Then hear thou from heaven, and do justice to thy servants, so to requite the wicked by making his wickedness fall upon his own head, and to revenge the just, rewarding him according to his justice. 2 Par. 6:23
So on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent away the people to their dwellings, joyful and glad for the good that the Lord had done to David, and to Solomon, and to all Israel his people. 2 Par. 7:10
And he appointed according to the order of David his father the offices of the priests in their ministries: and the Levites in their order to give praise, and minister before the priests according to the duty of every day: and the porters in their divisions by gate and gate: for so David the man of God had commanded. 2 Par. 8:14
And the meats of his table, and the dwelling places of his servants, and the attendance of his officers, and their apparel, his cupbearers also, and their garments, and the victims which he offered in the house of the Lord: there was no more spirit in her, she was so astonished. 2 Par. 9:4
And king Solomon gave to the queen of Saba all that she desired, and that she asked, and many more things than she brought to him: so she returned, and went to her own country with her servants. 2 Par. 9:12

So Sesac king of Egypt departed from Jerusalem, taking away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and of the king's house, and he took all with him, and the golden shields that Solomon had made, 2 Par. 12:9
And he said to Juda: Let us build these cities, and compass them with walls, and fortify them with towers, and gates, and bars, while all is quiet from wars, because we have sought the Lord the God of our fathers, and he hath given us peace round about. So they built, and there was no hinderance in building. 2 Par. 14:7
So the king of Israel gathered together of the prophets four hundred men, and he said to them: Shall we go to Ramoth Galaad to fight, or shall we forbear? But they said: Go up, and God will deliver it into the king's hand. 2 Par. 18:5
So he came to the king: and the king said to him: Micheas, shall we go to Ramoth Galaad to fight, or forbear? And he answered him: Go up, for all shall succeed prosperously, and the enemies shall be delivered into your hands. 2 Par. 18:14
And he answered: I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the Lord said: Thou shalt deceive, and shalt prevail: go out, and do so. 2 Par. 18:21
So the king of Israel and Josaphat king of Juda went up to Ramoth Galaad. 2 Par. 18:28
And the king of Israel said to Josaphat: I will change my dress, and so I will go to the battle, but put thou on thy own garments. And the king of Israel having changed his dress, went to the battle. 2 Par. 18:29
So when the captains of the cavalry saw Josaphat, they said: This is the king of Israel. And they surrounded him to attack him: but he cried to the Lord, and he helped him, and turned them away from him. 2 Par. 18:31
Every cause that shall come to you of your brethren, that dwell in their cities, between kindred and kindred, wheresoever there is question concerning the law, the commandment, the ceremonies, the justifications: shew it them, that they may not sin against the Lord, and that wrath may not come upon you and your brethren: and so doing you shall not sin. 2 Par. 19:10
Then Josaphat came, and all the people with him to take away the spoils of the dead, and they found among the dead bodies, stuff of various kinds, and garments, and most precious vessels: and they took them for themselves, insomuch that they could not carry all, nor in three days take away the spoils, the booty was so great. 2 Par. 20:25
So Joram rose up over the kingdom of his father: and when he had established himself, he slew all his brethren with the sword, and some of the princes of Israel. 2 Par. 21:4
And they came up into the land of Juda, and wasted it, and they carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, his sons also, and his wives: so that there was no son left him but Joachaz, who was the youngest. 2 Par. 21:17
And as day came after day, and time rolled on, two whole years passed: then after being wasted with a long consumption, so as to void his very bowels, his disease ended with his life. And he died of a most wretched illness, and the people did not make a funeral for him according to the manner of burning, as they had done for his ancestors. 2 Par. 21:19
¤ And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ochozias his youngest son king in his place: for the rovers of the Arabians, who had broke in upon the camp, had killed all that were his elder brothers. So Ochozias the son of Joram king of Juda reigned. 2 Par. 22:1
So he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as the house of Achab did: for they were his counsellors after the death of his father, to his destruction. 2 Par. 22:4
So when Jehu was rooting out the house of Achab, he found the princes of Juda, and the sons of the brethren of Ochozias, who served him, and he slew them. 2 Par. 22:8
So the Levites, and all Juda did according to all that Joiada the high priest had commanded: and they took every one his men that were under him, and that came in by the course of the sabbath, with those who had fulfilled the sabbath, and were to go out. For Joiada the high priest permitted not the companies to depart, which were accustomed to succeed one another every week. 2 Par. 23:8
And all the princes, and all the people rejoiced: and going in they contributed and cast so much into the chest of the Lord, that it was filled. 2 Par. 24:10
So Joas king of Israel went up, and they presented themselves to be seen by one another: and Amasias king of Juda was in Bethsames of Juda: 2 Par. 25:21
He fought against the king of the children of Ammon, and overcame them, and the children of Ammon gave him at that time a hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand measures of wheat, and as many measures of barley: so much did the children of Ammon give him in the second and third year. 2 Par. 27:5
At that time there was a prophet of the Lord there, whose name was Oded: and he went out to meet the army that came to Samaria, and said to them: Behold the Lord the God of your fathers being angry with Juda, hath delivered them into your hands, and you have butchered them cruelly, so that your cruelty hath reached up to heaven. 2 Par. 28:9
So the soldiers left the spoils, and all that they had taken, before the princes and all the multitude. 2 Par. 28:14

So Manasses seduced Juda, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to do evil beyond all the nations, which the Lord had destroyed before the face of the children of Israel. 2 Par. 33:9
And the singers the sons of Asaph stood in their order, according to the commandment of David, and Asaph, and Heman, and Idithun, the prophets of the king: and the porters kept guard at every gate, so as not to depart one moment from their service, and therefore their brethren the Levites prepared meats for them. 2 Par. 35:15
So all the service of the Lord was duly accomplished that day, both in keeping the phase and offering holocausts upon the altar of the Lord, according to the commandment of king Josias. 2 Par. 35:16

And as this their going pleased him, Raphael said to Tobias: Take with thee of the gall of the fish, for it will be necessary. So Tobias took some of that gall and departed. Tob. 11:4
So the father and the son calling him, took him aside: and began to desire him that he would vouchsafe to accept of half of all things that they had brought, Tob. 12:5
And all his kindred, and all his generation continued in good life, and in holy conversation, so that they were acceptable both to God, and to men, and to all that dwelt in the land. Tob. 14:17
And so great a fear lay upon all those provinces, that the inhabitants of all the cities, both princes and nobles, as well as the people, went out to meet him at his coming. Jud. 3:9

The God of heaven opened the sea to them in their flight, so that the waters were made to stand firm as a wall on either side, and they walked through the bottom of the sea and passed it dry foot. Jud. 5:12
And when an innumerable army of the Egyptians pursued after them in that place, they were so overwhelmed with the waters, that there was not one left, to tell what had happened to posterity. Jud. 5:13
So they overthrew the king of the Chanaanites, and of the Jebusites, and of the Pherezites, and of the Hethites, and of the Hevites, and of the Amorrhites, and all the mighty ones in Hesebon, and they possessed their lands, and their cities: Jud. 5:20
Then turning out of the way by the side of the mountain, they tied Achior to a tree hand and foot, and so left him bound with ropes, and returned to their master. Jud. 6:9
So when their weeping was ended, and the people's prayer, in which they continued all the day, was concluded, they comforted Achior, Jud. 6:16
And when the Lord our God shall give this liberty to his servants, let God be with thee also in the midst of us: that as it shall please thee, so thou with all thine mayst converse with us. Jud. 6:18
And when they had kept this watch for full twenty days, the cisterns, and the reserve of waters failed among all the inhabitants of Bethulia, so that there was not within the city, enough to satisfy them, no not for one day, for water was daily given out to the people by measure. Jud. 7:11
Let us ask the Lord with tears, that according to his will so he would shew his mercy to us: that as our heart is troubled by their pride, so also we may glorify in our humility. Jud. 8:17
So Isaac, so Jacob, so Moses, and all that have pleased God, passed through many tribulations, remaining faithful. Jud. 8:23
So that which I intend to do prove ye if it be of God, and pray that God may strengthen my design. Jud. 8:31
And Ozias the prince of Juda said to her: Go in peace, and the Lord be with thee to take revenge of our enemies. So returning they departed. Jud. 8:34
So may it be with these also, O Lord, who trust in their multitude, and in their chariots, and in their pikes, and in their shields, and in their arrows, and glory in their spears, Jud. 9:9
And the Lord also gave her more beauty: because all this dressing up did not proceed from sensuality, but from virtue: and therefore the Lord increased this her beauty, so that she appeared to all men's eyes incomparably lovely. Jud. 10:4
And they that were there said, all with one voice: So be it, so be it. Jud. 10:9
For it is certain that our God is so offended with sins, that he hath sent word by his prophets to the people, that he will deliver them up for their sins. Jud. 11:8
And he will tell me when he will repay them for their sins, and I will come and tell thee, so that I may bring thee through the midst of Jerusalem, and thou shalt have all the people of Israel, as sheep that have no shepherd, and there shall not so much as one dog bark against thee: Jud. 11:15
For it is looked upon as shameful among the Assyrians, if a woman mock a man, by doing so as to pass free from him. Jud. 12:11
And Holofernes was made merry on her occasion, and drank exceeding much wine, so much as he had never drunk in his life. Jud. 12:20
Because he hath so magnified thy name this day, that thy praise shall not depart out of the mouth of men who shall be mindful of the power of the Lord for ever, for that thou hast not spared thy life, by reason of the distress and tribulation of thy people, but hast prevented our ruin in the presence of our God. Jud. 13:25
And all the people said: So be it, so be it. Jud. 13:26
And that thou mayst find that it is so, behold the head of Holofernes, who in the contempt of his pride despised the God of Israel: and threatened them with death, saying: When the people of Israel shall be taken, I will command thy sides to be pierced with a sword. Jud. 13:28
So that no one spoke to his neighbour, but hanging down the head, leaving all things behind, they made haste to escape from the Hebrews, who, as they heard, were coming armed upon them, and fled by the ways of the fields, and the paths of the hills. Jud. 15:2
So the children of Israel seeing them fleeing, followed after them. And they went down sounding with trumpets and shouting after them. Jud. 15:3
But they that returned conquerors to Bethulia, brought with them all things that were theirs, so that there was no numbering of their cattle, and beasts, and all their moveables, insomuch that from the least to the greatest all were made rich by their spoils. Jud. 15:8
And all the people said: So be it, so be it. Jud. 15:12
And chastity was joined to her virtue, so that she knew no man all the days of her life, after the death of Manasses her husband. Jud. 16:26
For this deed of the queen will go abroad to all women, so that they will despise their husbands, and will say: King Assuerus commanded that queen Vasthi should come in to him, and she would not. Esther 1:17
Now when every virgin's turn came to go in to the king, after all had been done for setting them off to advantage, it was the twelfth month: so that for six months they were anointed with oil of myrrh, and for other six months they used certain perfumes and sweet spices. Esther 2:12
So she was brought to the chamber of king Assuerus the tenth month, which is called Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. Esther 2:16
And all the king's servants, that were at the doors of the palace, bent their knees, and worshipped Aman: for so the emperor had commanded them, only Mardochai did not bend his knee, nor worship him. Esther 3:2
All the king's servants, and all the provinces that are under his dominion, know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, cometh into the king's inner court, who is not called for, is immediately to be put to death without any delay: except the king shall hold out the golden sceptre to him, in token of clemency, that so he may live. How then can I go in to the king, who for these thirty days now have not been called unto him? Esther 4:11
So Mardochai went, and did all that Esther had commanded him. Esther 4:17
So going in she passed through all the doors in order, and stood before the king, where he sat upon his royal throne, clothed with his royal robes, and glittering with gold, and precious stones, and he was terrible to behold. Esther 15:9
And the king said forthwith: Call ye Aman quickly, that he may obey Esther's will. So the king and Aman came to the banquet which the queen had prepared for them. Esther 5:5
So Aman went out that day joyful and merry. And when he saw Mardochai sitting before the gate of the palace, and that he not only did not rise up to honour him, but did not so much as move from the place where he sat, he was exceedingly angry: Esther 5:9
And whereas I have all these things, I think I have nothing, so long as I see Mardochai the Jew sitting before the king's gate. Esther 5:13
Then Zares his wife, and the rest of his friends answered him: Order a great beam to be prepared, fifty cubits high, and in the morning speak to the king, that Mardochai may be hanged upon it, and so thou shalt go full of joy with the king to the banquet. The counsel pleased him, and he commanded a high gibbet to be prepared. Esther 5:14
So Aman took the robe and the horse, and arraying Mardochai in the street of the city, and setting him on the horse, went before him, and proclaimed: This honour is he worthy of, whom the king hath a mind to honour. Esther 6:11
¤ So the king and Aman went in, to drink with the queen. Esther 7:1
So Aman was hanged on the gibbet, which he had prepared for Mardochai: and the king's wrath ceased. Esther 7:10
And they break out into so great madness, as to endeavour to undermine by lies such as observe diligently the offices committed to them, and do all things in such manner as to be worthy of all men's praise, Esther 16:5
And found our humanity so great towards him, that he was called our father, and was worshipped by all as the next man after the king: Esther 16:11
But he was so far puffed up with arrogancy, as to go about to deprive us of our kingdom and life. Esther 16:12
So the swift posts went out carrying the messages, and the king's edict was hung up in Susan. Esther 8:14
¤ So on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which as we have said above is called Adar, when all the Jews were designed to be massacred, and their enemies were greedy after their blood, the case being altered, the Jews began to have the upper hand, and to revenge themselves of their adversaries. Esther 9:1
So the Jews made a great slaughter of their enemies, and killed them, repaying according to what they had prepared to do to them: Esther 9:5
And the king commanded that it should be so done. And forthwith the edict was hung up in Susan, and the ten sons of Aman were hanged. Esther 9:14
Now the thirteenth day of the month Adar was the first day with them all of the slaughter, and on the fourteenth day they left off. Which they ordained to be kept holy day, so that all times hereafter they should celebrate it with feasting, joy, and banquets. Esther 9:17
But those Jews that dwelt in towns not walled and in villages, appointed the fourteenth day of the month Adar for banquets and gladness, so as to rejoice on that day, and send one another portions of their banquets and meats. Esther 9:19
And afterwards Esther went in to the king, beseeching him that his endeavours might be made void by the king's letters: and the evil that he had intended against the Jews, might return upon his own head. And so both he and his sons were hanged upon gibbets. Esther 9:25
And the things that they suffered, and that were afterwards changed, the Jews took upon themselves and their seed, and upon all that had a mind to be joined to their religion, so that it should be lawful for none to pass these days without solemnity: which the writing testifieth, and certain times require, as the years continually succeed one another. Esther 9:27
And when the days of their feasting were gone about, Job sent to them, and sanctified them: and rising up early, offered holocausts for every one of them. For he said: Lest perhaps my sons have sinned, and have blessed God in their hearts. So did Job all days. Job 1:5
And said: Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away: as it hath pleased the Lord, so is it done: blessed be the name of the Lord. Job 1:21
So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord, and struck Job with a very grievous ulcer, from the sole of the foot even to the top of his head: Job 2:7
Before I eat I sigh: and as overflowing waters, so is my roaring: Job 3:24
Who bringeth to nought the designs of the malignant, so that their hands cannot accomplish what they had begun: Job 5:12

So doth the potter sitting at his work, turning the wheel about with his feet, who is always carefully set to his work, and maketh all his work by number: Sir. 38:32
And as a flood hath watered the earth; so shall his wrath inherit the nations, that have not sought after him. Sir. 39:28
Even as he turned the waters into a dry land, and the earth was made dry: and his ways were made plain for their journey: so to sinners they are stumblingblocks in his wrath. Sir. 39:29
Good things were created for the good from the beginning, so for the wicked, good and evil things. Sir. 39:30
All these things shall be for good to the holy, so to the sinners and the ungodly they shall be turned into evil. Sir. 39:32
All things that are of the earth, shall return into the earth: so the ungodly shall from malediction to destruction. Sir. 41:13
¤ Repeat not the word which thou hast heard, and disclose not the thing that is secret; so shalt thou be truly without confusion, and shalt find favour before all men: be not ashamed of any of these things, and accept no person to sin thereby: Sir. 42:1

And if you shall say: Why hath the Lord our God done all these things to us? thou shalt say to them: As you have forsaken me, and served a strange god in your own land, so shall you serve strangers in a land that is not your own. Jer. 5:19

Why is my sorrow become perpetual, and my wound desperate so as to refuse to be healed? it is become to me as the falsehood of deceitful waters that cannot be trusted. Jer. 15:18
And you also have done worse than your fathers: for behold every one of you walketh after the perverseness of his evil heart, so as not to hearken to me. Jer. 16:12
So I will cast you forth out of this land, into a land which you know not, nor your fathers: and there you shall serve strange gods day and night, which shall not give you any rest. Jer. 16:13
As the partridge hath hatched eggs which she did not lay: so is he that hath gathered riches, and not by right: in the midst of his days he shall leave them, and in his latter end he shall be a fool. Jer. 17:11

And it was made void in that day: and so the poor of the flock that keep for me, understood that it is the word of the Lord. Zach. 11:11

Then Mathathias answered, and said with a loud voice: Although all nations obey king Antiochus, so as to depart every man from the service of the law of his fathers, and consent to his commandments: 1 Ma. 2:19

Even so destroy this army in our sight today and let the rest know that he hath spoken ill against thy sanctuary: and judge thou him according to his wickedness. 1 Ma. 7:42

So Jonathan took upon him the government at that time, and rose up in the place of Judas, his brother 1 Ma. 9:31
At that time Alcimus was struck: and his works were hindered, and his mouth was stopped, and he was taken with a palsy, so that he could no more speak a word, nor give order concerning his house. 1 Ma. 9:55
So they went, and gave him counsel. 1 Ma. 9:59
So the sword ceased from Israel: and Jonathan dwelt in Machmas, and Jonathan began there to judge the people, and he destroyed the wicked out of Israel. 1 Ma. 9:73
And he ordered workmen to build the walls, and mount Sion round about with square stones for fortification: and so they did. 1 Ma. 10:11
So he wrote a letter, and sent it to him according to these words, saying: 1 Ma. 10:17
And the half of the fruit of trees, which is my share, I leave to you from this day forward, so that it shall not be taken of the land of Juda, and of the three cities that are added thereto out of Samaria and Galilee, from this day forth, and for ever: 1 Ma. 10:30
So Ptolemee went out of Egypt, with Cleopatra his daughter, and he came to Ptolemais, in the hundred and sixty-second year. 1 Ma. 10:57
And he commanded that Jonathan's garments should be taken off, and that he should be clothed with purple: and they did so. And the king made him sit by himself. 1 Ma. 10:62
So when his accusers saw his glory proclaimed, and him clothed with purple, they all fled away. 1 Ma. 10:64
And now how wilt thou be able to abide the horsemen, and so great an army in the plain, where there is no stone, nor rock, nor place to flee to? 1 Ma. 10:73
And they that were in the city being affrighted, opened the gates to him: so Jonathan took Joppe. 1 Ma. 10:76
But the people stood still, as Jonathan had commanded them: and so their horses were fatigued. 1 Ma. 10:81

And king Demetrius, seeing that the land was quiet before him, and nothing resisted him, sent away all his forces, every man to his own place, except the foreign army, which he had drawn together from the islands of the nations: so all the troops of his fathers hated him. 1 Ma. 11:38
So king Demetrius sat in the throne of his kingdom: and the land was quiet before him. 1 Ma. 11:52
So he went out from Jerusalem, and met them in the land of Amath: for he gave them no time to enter into his country. 1 Ma. 12:25
And to build up walls in Jerusalem, and raise a mount between the castle and the city, to separate it from the city, that so it might have no communication, and that they might neither buy nor sell. 1 Ma. 12:36
Fearing lest Jonathan would not suffer him, but would fight against him: he sought to seize upon him, and to kill him. So he rose up and came to Bethsan. 1 Ma. 12:40
So gathering together all the men of war, he made haste to finish all the walls of Jerusalem, and he fortified it round about. 1 Ma. 13:10
So he sent the children and the hundred talents and he lied, and did not let Jonathan go. 1 Ma. 13:19
And he provided victuals for the cities, and he appointed that they should be furnished with ammunition, so that the fame of his glory was renowned even to the end of the earth. 1 Ma. 14:10
And in his days things prospered in his hands, so that the heathens were taken away out of their country, and they also that were in the city of David, in Jerusalem, in the castle, out of which they issued forth, and profaned all places round about the sanctuary, and did much evil to its purity. 1 Ma. 14:36
And when we shall have recovered our kingdom, we will glorify thee, and thy nation, and the temple, with great glory, so that your glory shall be made manifest in all the earth. 1 Ma. 15:9
In the year one hundred and seventy-four, Antiochus entered into the land of his fathers, and all the forces assembled to him, so that few were left with Tryphon. 1 Ma. 15:10
So Athenobius, the king's friend came to Jerusalem, and saw the glory of Simon and his magnificence in gold, and silver, and his great equipage, and he was astonished, and told him the king's words. 1 Ma. 15:32
And Simon called his two eldest sons, Judas and John, and said to them: I and my brethren, and my father's house, have fought against the enemies of Israel from our youth even to this day: and things have prospered so well in our hands, that we have delivered Israel oftentimes. 1 Ma. 16:2
And he and his people pitched their camp over against them, and he saw that the people were afraid to go over the river, so he went over first: then the men seeing him, passed over after him. 1 Ma. 16:6
For when our fathers were led into Persia, the priests that then were worshippers of God, took privately the fire from the altar, and hid it in a valley where there was a deep pit without water, and there they kept it safe, so that the place was unknown to all men. 2 Ma. 1:19
And when this was done, and the time came that the sun shone out, which before was in a cloud, there was a great fire kindled, so that all wondered. 2 Ma. 1:22
And when Jeremias came thither he found a hollow cave: and he carried in thither the tabernacle, and the ark, and the altar of incense, and so stopped the door. 2 Ma. 2:5
And as Moses prayed to the Lord, and fire came down from heaven, and consumed the holocaust: so Solomon also prayed, and fire came down from heaven and consumed the holocaust. 2 Ma. 2:10

And the manifestations that came from heaven to them, that behaved themselves manfully on the behalf of the Jews, so that, being but a few they made themselves masters of the whole country, and put to flight the barbarous multitude: 2 Ma. 2:22
For as the master builder of a new house must have care of the whole building: but he that taketh care to paint it, must seek out fit things for the adorning of it: so must it be judged of us. 2 Ma. 2:30
So that Seleucus, king of Asia, allowed out of his revenues all the charges belonging to the ministry of the sacrifices. 2 Ma. 3:3
So Heliodorus forthwith began his journey, under a colour of visiting the cities of Celesyria and Phenicia, but indeed to fulfil the king's purpose. 2 Ma. 3:8
And when he was come to Jerusalem, and had been courteously received in the city by the high priest, he told him what information had been given concerning the money: and declared the cause for which he was come: and asked if these things were so indeed. 2 Ma. 3:9
So on the day he had appointed, Heliodorus entered in to order this matter. But there was no small terror throughout the whole city. 2 Ma. 3:14
For the man was so compassed with sadness and horror of the body, that it was manifest to them that beheld him, what sorrow he had in his heart. 2 Ma. 3:17
But the spirit of the Almighty God gave a great evidence of his presence, so that all that had presumed to obey him, falling down by the power of God, were struck with fainting and dread. 2 Ma. 3:24
So he that came with many servants, and all his guard, into the aforesaid treasury, was carried out, no one being able to help him, the manifest power of God being known. 2 Ma. 3:28
So the high priest, considering that the king might perhaps suspect that some mischief had been done to Heliodorus by the Jews, offered a sacrifice of health for the recovery of the man. 2 Ma. 3:32
So Heliodorus, after he had offered a sacrifice to God, and made great vows to him, that had granted him life, and given thanks to Onias, taking his troops with him, returned to the king. 2 Ma. 3:35
If thou hast any enemy, or traitor to thy king dom, send him thither, and thou shalt receive him again scourged, if so be he escape: for there is undoubtedly in that place a certain power of God. 2 Ma. 3:38
But when the enmities proceeded so far, that murders also were committed by some of Simon's friends: 2 Ma. 4:3
So the money was appointed by him that sent it to the sacrifice of Hercules: but because of them that carried it was employed for the making of galleys. 2 Ma. 4:20
So having received the king's mandate, he returned, bringing nothing worthy of the high priesthood: but having the mind of a cruel tyrant, and the rage of a savage beast. 2 Ma. 4:25
So Menelaus got the principality: but as for the money he had promised to the king, he took no care, when Sostratus, the governor of the castle, called for it. 2 Ma. 4:27
For which cause not only the Jews, but also the other nations, conceived indignation, and were much grieved for the unjust murder of so great a man. 2 Ma. 4:35
So Ptolemee went to the king in a certain court where he was, as it were to cool himself, and brought him to be of another mind: 2 Ma. 4:46
So Menelaus, who was guilty of all the evil, was acquitted by him of the accusations: and those poor men, who, if they had pleaded their cause even before Scythians, should have been judged innocent, were condemned to death. 2 Ma. 4:47
And so through the covetousness of them that were in power, Menelaus continued in authority, increasing in malice to the betraying of the citizens. 2 Ma. 4:50
Otherwise had they not been involved in many sins, as Heliodorus, who was sent by king Seleucus to rob the treasury, so this man also, as soon as he had come, had been forthwith scourged, and put back from his presumption. 2 Ma. 5:18
So when Antiochus had taken away out of the temple a thousand and eight hundred talents, he went back in all haste to Antioch, thinking through pride that he might now make the land navigable, and the sea passable on foot: such was the haughtiness of his mind. 2 Ma. 5:21
Doth he also deal with us, so as to suffer our sins to come to their height, and then take vengeance on us. 2 Ma. 6:15
That by so doing he might be delivered from death; and for the sake of their old friendship with the man, they did him this courtesy. 2 Ma. 6:22
And so they, through my dissimulation, and for a little time of a corruptible life, should be deceived, and hereby I should bring a stain and a curse upon my old age. 2 Ma. 6:25
So when the first was dead after this manner, they brought the next to make him a mocking stock: and when they had pulled off the skin of his head with the hair, they asked him if he would eat, before he were punished throughout the whole body in every limb. 2 Ma. 7:7
So that the king, and they that were with him, wondered at the young man's courage, because he esteemed the torments as nothing. 2 Ma. 7:12
So bending herself towards him, mocking the cruel tyrant, she said in her own language: My son have pity upon me, that bore thee nine months in my womb, and gave thee suck three years, and nourished thee, and brought thee up unto this age. 2 Ma. 7:27
So thou shalt not fear this tormentor, but being made a worthy partner with thy brethren, receive death, that in that mercy I may receive thee again with thy brethren. 2 Ma. 7:29
So this man also died undefiled, wholly trusting in the Lord. 2 Ma. 7:40
So coming unawares upon the towns and cities, he set them on fire, and taking possession of the most commodious places, he made no small slaughter of the enemies: 2 Ma. 8:6
And Nicanor purposed to raise for the king the tribute of two thousand talents, that was to be given to the Romans, by making so much money of the captive Jews: 2 Ma. 8:10
So he appointed his brethren captains over each division of his army; Simon, and Joseph, and Jonathan, giving to each one fifteen hundred men. 2 Ma. 8:22
For he had entered into the city called Persepolis, and attempted to rob the temple, and to oppress the city, but the multitude running together to arms, put them to flight: and so it fell out that Antiochus being put to flight, returned with disgrace. 2 Ma. 9:2
And swelling with anger, he thought to revenge upon the Jews the injury done by them that had put him to flight. And therefore he commanded his chariot to be driven, without stopping in his journey, the judgment of heaven urging him forward, because he had spoken so proudly, that he would come to Jerusalem, and make it a common burying place of the Jews. 2 Ma. 9:4
Moreover, being filled with pride, breathing out fire in his rage against the Jews, and commanding the matter to be hastened, it happened as he was going with violence, that he fell from the chariot, so that his limbs were much pained by a grievous bruising of the body. 2 Ma. 9:7
So that worms swarmed out of the body of this man, and whilst he lived in sorrow and pain, his flesh fell off, and the filthiness of his smell was noisome to the army. 2 Ma. 9:9
And the Jews, whom he said he would not account worthy to be so much as buried, but would give them up to be devoured by the birds and wild beasts, and would utterly destroy them with their children, he now promiseth to make equal with the Athenians. 2 Ma. 9:15
So he put these traitors to death, and forthwith took the two towers. 2 Ma. 10:22
And so after prayer taking their arms, they went forth further from the city, and when they were come very near the enemies they rested. 2 Ma. 10:27
Two of them took Machabeus between them, and covered him on every side with their arms, and kept him safe; but cast darts and fireballs against the enemy, so that they fell down, being both confounded with blindness, and filled with trouble. 2 Ma. 10:30
So he came into Judea, and approaching to Bethsura, which was in a narrow place, the space of five furlongs from Jerusalem, he laid siege to that fortress. 2 Ma. 11:5
So they went on courageously, having a helper from heaven, and the Lord, who shewed mercy to them. 2 Ma. 11:10
He came upon the Jamnites also by night, and set the haven on fire, with the ships, so that the light of the fire was seen at Jerusalem, two hundred and forty furlongs off. 2 Ma. 12:9
And having taken the city by the will of the Lord, he made an unspeakable slaughter, so that a pool adjoining, of two furlongs broad, seemed to run with the blood of the slain. 2 Ma. 12:16
But when the first band of Judas came in sight, the enemies were struck with fear, by the presence of God, who seeth all things, and they were put to flight one from another, so that they were often thrown down by their own companions, and wounded with the strokes of their own swords. 2 Ma. 12:22
They gave them thanks, exhorting them to be still friendly to their nation, and so they came to Jerusalem, the feast of the weeks being at hand. 2 Ma. 12:31
But Dositheus, a horseman, one of Bacenor's band, a valiant man, took hold of Gorgias: and when he would have taken him alive, a certain horseman of the Thracians came upon him, and cut off his shoulder: and so Gorgias escaped to Maresa. 2 Ma. 12:35
So Judas having gathered together his army, came into the city Odollam: and when the seventh day came, they purified themselves according to the custom, and kept the sabbath in the same place. 2 Ma. 12:38
And they found under the coats of the slain, some of the donaries of the idols of Jamnia, which the law forbiddeth to the Jews: so that all plainly saw, that for this cause they were slain. 2 Ma. 12:40
And so betaking themselves to prayers, they besought him, that the sin which had been committed might be forgotten. But the most valiant Judas exhorted the people to keep themselves from sin, forasmuch as they saw before their eyes what had happened, because of the sins of those that were slain. 2 Ma. 12:42
And by such a law it happened that Menelaus the transgressor of the law, was put to death: not having so much as burial in the earth. 2 Ma. 13:7
Which when Judas understood, he commanded the people to call upon the Lord day and night, that as he had always done, so now also he would help them: 2 Ma. 13:10
So when they had all done this together, and had craved mercy of the Lord with weeping and fasting, lying prostrate on the ground for three days continually, Judas exhorted them to make themselves ready. 2 Ma. 13:12
So committing all to God, the Creator of the world, and having exhorted his people to fight manfully, and to stand up even to death for the laws, the temple, the city, their country, and citizens: he placed his army about Modin. 2 Ma. 13:14
But Rhodocus, one of the Jews' army, disclosed the secrets to the enemies, so he was sought out, and taken up, and put in prison. 2 Ma. 13:21
So they appointed a day upon which they might commune together by themselves: and seats were brought out, and set for each one. 2 Ma. 14:21
But Judas ordered armed men to be ready in convenient places, lest some mischief might be suddenly practised by the enemies: so they made an agreeable conference. 2 Ma. 14:22
And he desired him to marry a wife, and to have children. So he married: he lived quietly, and they lived in common. 2 Ma. 14:25
So Nicanor being willing to declare the hatred that he bore the Jews, sent five hundred soldiers to take him. 2 Ma. 14:39
And standing upon a steep rock, when he was now almost without blood, grasping his bowels, with both hands he cast them upon the throng, calling upon the Lord of life and spirit, to restore these to him again: and so he departed this life. 2 Ma. 14:46
And when the Jews that were constrained to follow him, said: Do not act so fiercely and barbarously, but give honour to the day that is sanctified: and reverence him that beholdeth all things: 2 Ma. 15:2
So Nicanor being puffed up with exceeding great pride, thought to set up a public monument of his victory over Judas. 2 Ma. 15:6
So he armed every one of them, not with defence of shield and spear, but with very good speeches, and exhortations, and told them a dream worthy to be believed, whereby he rejoiced them all. 2 Ma. 15:11
So fighting with their hands, but praying to the Lord with their hearts, they slew no less than five and thirty thousand, being greatly cheered with the presence of God. 2 Ma. 15:27
So these things being done with relation to Nicanor, and from that time the city being possessed by the Hebrews, I also will here make an end of my narration. 2 Ma. 15:38
Which if I have done well, and as it becometh the history, it is what I desired: but if not so perfectly, it must be pardoned me. 2 Ma. 15:39
For as it is hurtful to drink always wine, or always water, but pleasant to use sometimes the one, and sometimes the other: so if the speech be always nicely framed, it will not be grateful to the readers. But here it shall be ended. 2 Ma. 15:40
So all the generations from Abraham to David, are fourteen generations. And from David to the transmigration of Babylon, are fourteen generations: and from the transmigration of Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations. Mt. 1:17
But they said to him: In Bethlehem of Juda. For so it is written by the prophet: Mt. 2:5

Then was offered to him one possessed with a devil, blind and dumb: and he healed him, so that he spoke and saw. Mt. 12:22
For as Jonas was in the whale's belly three days and three nights: so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. Mt. 12:40
Then he goeth, and taketh with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is made worse than the first. So shall it be also to this wicked generation. Mt. 12:45

And when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches, so that the birds of the air may dwell under the shadow thereof. Mk. 4:32
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that the ship was filled. Mk. 4:37
And he said to them: Come apart into a desert place, and rest a little. For there were many coming and going: and they had not so much as time to eat. Mk. 6:31
And he saith to them: So are you also without knowledge? Understand you not that every thing from without entering into a man cannot defile him: Mk. 7:18
And he charged them that they should tell no man. But the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal did they publish it. Mk. 7:36
And so much the more did they wonder, saying: He hath done all things well. He hath made both the deaf to hear and the dumb to speak. Mk. 7:37
After that again he laid his hands upon his eyes: and he began to see and was restored, so that he saw all things clearly. Mk. 8:25
And his garments became shining and exceeding white as snow, so as no fuller upon earth can make white. Mk. 9:3
And crying out and greatly tearing him, he went out of him. And he became as dead, so that many said: He is dead. Mk. 9:26
But it is not so among you: but whosoever will be greater shall be your minister. Mk. 10:43
So you also when you shall see these things come to pass, know ye that it is very nigh, even at the doors. Mk. 13:29
But Jesus still answered nothing: so that Pilate wondered. Mk. 15:5
And so Pilate being willing to satisfy the people, released to them Barabbas: and delivered up Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified. Mk. 15:15
And the people were waiting for Zachary: and they wondered that he tarried so long in the temple. Lk. 1:21
And his mother answering, said: Not so. But he shall be called John. Lk. 1:60
And seeing him, they wondered. And his mother said to him: Son, why hast thou done so to us? Behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing. Lk. 2:48
And they beckoned to their partners that were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came and filled both the ships, so that they were almost sinking. Lk. 5:7
And so were also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were Simon's partners. And Jesus saith to Simon: Fear not: from henceforth thou shalt catch men. Lk. 5:10
And Jesus answering them, said: Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was hungry and they that were with him: Lk. 6:3
Which Jesus hearing, marvelled: and turning about to the multitude that followed him, he said: Amen I say to you, I have not found so great faith, not even in Israel. Lk. 7:9
And they did so and made them all sit down. Lk. 9:15
And lo, a spirit seizeth him, and he suddenly crieth out, and he throweth him down and teareth him, so that he foameth; and bruising him, he hardly departeth from him. Lk. 9:39
But they understood not this word: and it was hid from them, so that they perceived it not. And they were afraid to ask him concerning this word. Lk. 9:45
In that same hour, he rejoiced in the Holy Ghost and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them to little ones. Yea, Father, for so it hath seemed good in thy sight. Lk. 10:21

The tribune commanded him to be brought into the castle, and that he should be scourged and tortured: to know for what cause they did so cry out against him. Acts 22:24

But not as the offence, so also the gift. For if by the offence of one, many died: much more the grace of God and the gift, by the grace of one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. Rom. 5:15
And not as it was by one sin, so also is the gift. For judgment indeed was by one unto condemnation: but grace is of many offences unto justification. Rom. 5:16
Therefore, as by the offence of one, unto all men to condemnation: so also by the justice of one, unto all men to justification of life. Rom. 5:18
For as by the disobedience of one man, many were made sinners: so also by the obedience of one, many shall be made just. Rom. 5:19
That as sin hath reigned to death: so also grace might reign by justice unto life everlasting, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 5:21
For we are buried together with him by baptism into death: that, as Christ is risen from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also may walk in newness of life. Rom. 6:4
So do you also reckon that you are dead to sin, but alive unto God, in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. 6:11
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, so as to obey the lusts thereof. Rom. 6:12
I speak an human thing, because of the infirmity of your flesh. For as you have yielded your members to serve uncleanness and iniquity, unto iniquity: so now yield your members to serve justice, unto sanctification. Rom. 6:19
Therefore, whilst her husband liveth, she shall be called an adulteress, if she be with another man: but if her husband be dead, she is delivered from the law of her husband: so that she is not an adulteress, if she be with another man. Rom. 7:3
But now we are loosed from the law of death wherein we were detained; so that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. Rom. 7:6
But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Rom. 8:9
And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him. Rom. 8:17
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. Rom. 9:16
Why so? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were of works. For they stumbled at the stumblingstone. Rom. 9:32
Even so then, at this present time also, there is a remnant saved according to the election of grace. Rom. 11:5
I say then: Have they so stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid! But by their offence salvation is come to the Gentiles, that they may be emulous of them. Rom. 11:11
For if the firstfruit be holy, so is the lump also: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. Rom. 11:16
And so all Israel should be saved, as it is written: There shall come out of Sion, he that shall deliver and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob. Rom. 11:26
So these also now have not believed, for your mercy, that they also may obtain mercy. Rom. 11:31
So we, being many, are one body in Christ; and every one members one of another: Rom. 12:5
And I myself also, my brethren, am assured of you that you also are full of love, replenished with all knowledge, so that you are able to admonish one another. Rom. 15:14
By the virtue of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Ghost, so that from Jerusalem round about, as far as unto Illyricum, I have replenished the gospel of Christ. Rom. 15:19
And I have so preached this gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation. Rom. 15:20
So that nothing is wanting to you in any grace, waiting for the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Cor. 1:7
For what man knoweth the things of a man, but the spirit of a man that is in him? So the things also that are of God, no man knoweth, but the Spirit of God. 1 Cor. 2:11
If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. 1 Cor. 3:15
¤ Let a man so account of us as of the ministers of Christ and the dispensers of the mysteries of God. 1 Cor. 4:1
As if I would not come to you, so some are puffed up. 1 Cor. 4:18

But now I have written to you, not to keep company, if any man that is named a brother be a fornicator or covetous or a server of idols or a railer or a drunkard or an extortioner: with such a one, not so much as to eat. 1 Cor. 5:11
I speak to your shame. Is it so that there is not among you any one wise man that is able to judge between his brethren? 1 Cor. 6:5
But I say to the unmarried and to the widows: It is good for them if they so continue, even as I. 1 Cor. 7:8
But as the Lord hath distributed to every one, as God hath called every one: so let him walk. And so in all churches I teach. 1 Cor. 7:17
I think therefore that this is good for the present necessity: that it is good for a man so to be. 1 Cor. 7:26
But if any man think that he seemeth dishonoured with regard to his virgin, for that she is above the age, and it must so be: let him do what he will. He sinneth not if she marry. 1 Cor. 7:36
But more blessed shall she be, if she so remain, according to my counsel. And I think that I also have the spirit of God. 1 Cor. 7:40
So also the Lord ordained that they who preach the gospel should live by the gospel. 1 Cor. 9:14
But I have used none of these things. Neither have I written these things, that they should be so done unto me: for it is good for me to die rather than that any man should make my glory void. 1 Cor. 9:15
Know you not that they that run in the race, all run indeed, but one receiveth the prize. So run that you may obtain. 1 Cor. 9:24
I therefore so run, not as at an uncertainty: I so fight, not as one beating the air. 1 Cor. 9:26
For as the woman is of the man, so also is the man by the woman: but all things of God. 1 Cor. 11:12

There are, for example, so many kinds of tongues in this world: and none is without voice. 1 Cor. 14:10
So you also, forasmuch as you are zealous of spirits, seek to abound unto the edifying of the church. 1 Cor. 14:12
In the law it is written: In other tongues and other lips I will speak to this people: and neither so will they hear me, saith the Lord. 1 Cor. 14:21
The secrets of his heart are made manifest. And so, falling down on his face, he will adore God, affirming that God is among you indeed. 1 Cor. 14:25
For whether I or they, so we preach: and so you have believed. 1 Cor. 15:11
And as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all shall be made alive. 1 Cor. 15:22
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption: it shall rise in incorruption. 1 Cor. 15:42
¤ Now concerning the collections that are made for the saints: as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, so do ye also. 1 Cor. 16:1
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us: so also by Christ doth our comfort abound. 2 Cor. 1:5
That our hope for you may be steadfast: knowing that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so shall you be also of the consolation. 2 Cor. 1:7
For we would not have you ignorant, brethren, of our tribulation which came to us in Asia: that we were pressed out of measure above our strength, so that we were weary even of life. 2 Cor. 1:8
Who hath delivered and doth deliver us out of so great dangers: in whom we trust that he will yet also deliver us, 2 Cor. 1:10
So that on the contrary, you should rather forgive him and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. 2 Cor. 2:7
To the one indeed the odour of death unto death: but to the others the odour of life unto life. And for these things who is so sufficient? 2 Cor. 2:16
Now if the ministration of death, engraven with letters upon stones, was glorious (so that the children of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses, for the glory of his countenance), which is made void: 2 Cor. 3:7
So then death worketh in us: but life in you. 2 Cor. 4:12
Yet so that we be found clothed, not naked. 2 Cor. 5:3
Wherefore henceforth, we know no man according to the flesh. And if we have known Christ according to the flesh: but now we know him so no longer. 2 Cor. 5:16
And not by his coming only, but also by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, relating to us your desire, your mourning, your zeal for me: so that I rejoiced the more. 2 Cor. 7:7
And if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I have not been put to shame: but as we have spoken all things to you in truth, so also our boasting that was made to Titus is found a truth. 2 Cor. 7:14
Insomuch, that we desired Titus, that, as he had begun, so also he would finish among you this same grace. 2 Cor. 8:6
That as in all things you abound in faith and word and knowledge and all carefulness, moreover also in your charity towards us: so in this grace also you may abound. 2 Cor. 8:7
Now therefore perform ye it also in deed: that as your mind is forward to be willing, so it may be also to perform, out of that which you have. 2 Cor. 8:11
Therefore I thought it necessary to desire the brethren that they would go to you before and prepare this blessing before promised, to be ready, so as a blessing, not as covetousness. 2 Cor. 9:5
See the things that are according to outward appearance. If any man trust to himself, that he is Christ's let him think this again with himself, that as he is Christ's, so are we also. 2 Cor. 10:7
But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ. 2 Cor. 11:3
And, when I was present with you and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was wanting to me, the brethren supplied who came from Macedonia. And in all things I have kept myself from being burthensome to you: and so I will keep myself. 2 Cor. 11:9
They are Hebrews: so am I. They are Israelites: so am I. They are the seed of Abraham: so am I. 2 Cor. 11:22
And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall: and so escaped his hands. 2 Cor. 11:33
But be it so: I did not burthen you: but being crafty, I caught you by guile. 2 Cor. 12:16
I wonder that you are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. Gal. 1:6
As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema. Gal. 1:9
And to his dissimulation the rest of the Jews consented: so that Barnabas also was led by them into that dissimulation. Gal. 2:13
Are you so foolish that, whereas you began in the Spirit, you would now be made perfect by the flesh? Gal. 3:3

For the flesh lusteth against the spirit: and the spirit against the flesh: For these are contrary one to another: so that you do not the things that you would. Gal. 5:17
Bear ye one another's burdens: and so you shall fulfil the law of Christ. Gal. 6:2

But you have not so learned Christ: Eph. 4:20
If so be that you have heard him and have been taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus: Eph. 4:21

So also ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. Eph. 5:28
For which I am an ambassador in a chain: so that therein I may be bold to speak according as I ought. Eph. 6:20
So that my bands are made manifest in Christ, in all the court and in all other places. Phil. 1:13
But what then? So that by all means, whether by occasion or by truth, Christ be preached: in this also I rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. Phil. 1:18
According to my expectation and hope; that in nothing I shall be confounded: but with all confidence, as always, so now also, shall Christ be magnified in my body, whether it be by life or by death. Phil. 1:20

For from you was spread abroad the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and in Achaia but also in every place: your faith which is towards God, is gone forth, so that we need not to speak any thing. 1 Th. 1:8

He that soweth, as he that shal not reape: so he also that pruneth a vinyeard, as if he should not haue the vintage. 4 Esd. 16:44
They that marie so as if they should not get children, & they that marie not, so as if were widowes. 4 Esd. 16:45
so much the more wil I be zealous toward them, vpon their sinnes, sayth our Lord. 4 Esd. 16:49
so shal iustice hate impietie when she adorneth herselfe, and accuseth her to her face, when he shal come that may defend him that searcheth out al vpon the earth. 4 Esd. 16:51
