¤ At that time Jesus went through the corn on the sabbath: and his disciples being hungry, began to pluck the ears, and to eat. Mt. 12:1
But seeing the wind strong, he was afraid: and when he began to sink, he cried out, saying: Lord, save me. Mt. 14:30
From that time Jesus began to shew to his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the ancients and scribes and chief priests, and be put to death, and the third day rise again. Mt. 16:21
And Peter taking him, began to rebuke him, saying: Lord, be it far from thee, this shall not be unto thee. Mt. 16:22
And they being very much troubled began every one to say: Is it I, Lord? Mt. 26:22
And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to grow sorrowful and to be sad. Mt. 26:37
Then he began to curse and to swear that he knew not the man. And immediately the cock crew. Mt. 26:74
¤ And in the end of the sabbath, when it began to dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre. Mt. 28:1
But he being gone out, began to publish and to blaze abroad the word: so that he could not openly go into the city, but was without in desert places. And they flocked to him from all sides. Mk. 1:45
And it came to pass again, as the Lord walked through the corn fields on the sabbath, that his disciples began to go forward and to pluck the ears of corn. Mk. 2:23
¤ And again he began to teach by the sea side; and a great multitude was gathered together unto him, so that he went up into a ship and sat in the sea: and all the multitude was upon the land by the sea side. Mk. 4:1
And they began to pray him that he would depart from their coasts. Mk. 5:17
And when he went up into the ship, he that had been troubled with the devil, began to beseech him that he might be with him. Mk. 5:18
And he went his way, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men wondered. Mk. 5:20
And when the Sabbath was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were in admiration at his doctrine, saying: How came this man by all these things? and what wisdom is this that is given to him, and such mighty works as are wrought by his hands? Mk. 6:2
And he called the twelve; and began to send them two and two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. Mk. 6:7
And Jesus going out saw a great multitude: and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things. Mk. 6:34
And running through that whole country, they began to carry about in beds those that were sick, where they heard he was. Mk. 6:55
And the Pharisees came forth and began to question with him, asking him a sign from heaven, tempting him. Mk. 8:11
After that again he laid his hands upon his eyes: and he began to see and was restored, so that he saw all things clearly. Mk. 8:25
And he began to teach them that the Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the ancients and by the high priests and the scribes: and be killed and after three days rise again. Mk. 8:31
And he spoke the word openly. And Peter taking him began to rebuke him. Mk. 8:32
And Peter began to say unto him: Behold, we have left all things and have followed thee. Mk. 10:28
And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem: and Jesus went before them. And they were astonished and following were afraid. And taking again the twelve, he began to tell them the things that should befall him. Mk. 10:32
And the ten, hearing it, began to be much displeased at James and John. Mk. 10:41
Who when he had heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, began to cry out and to say: Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me. Mk. 10:47
And they came to Jerusalem. And when he was entered into the temple, he began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple: and over threw the tables of the moneychangers and the chairs of them that sold doves. Mk. 11:15
¤ And he began to speak to them in parables: A certain man planted a vineyard and made a hedge about it and dug a place for the winefat and built a tower and let it to husbandmen: and went into a far country. Mk. 12:1
And Jesus answering, began to say to them: Take heed lest any man deceive you. Mk. 13:5
But they began to be sorrowful and to say to him, one by one: Is it I? Mk. 14:19
And he taketh Peter and James and John with him: and he began to fear and to be heavy. Mk. 14:33
And some began to spit on him and to cover his face and to buffet him and to say unto him: Prophesy. And the servants struck him with the palms of their hands. Mk. 14:65
And again a maidservant seeing him, began to say to the standers by: This is one of them. Mk. 14:69
But he began to curse and to swear, saying: I know not this man of whom you speak. Mk. 14:71
And immediately the cock crew again. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said unto him: Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt thrice deny me. And he began to weep, Mk. 14:72
And when the multitude was come up, they began to desire that he would do as he had ever done unto them. Mk. 15:8
And they began to salute him: Hail, king of the Jews. Mk. 15:18
And he began to say to them: This day is fulfilled this scripture in your ears. Lk. 4:21
And the scribes and Pharisees began to think, saying: Who is this who speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? Lk. 5:21
And he that was dead sat up and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother. Lk. 7:15
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to speak to the multitudes concerning John. What went ye out into the desert to see? A reed shaken with the wind? Lk. 7:24
And standing behind at his feet, she began to wash his feet with tears and wiped them with the hairs of her head and kissed his feet and anointed them with the ointment. Lk. 7:38
And they that sat at meat with him began to say within themselves: Who is this that forgiveth sins also? Lk. 7:49
Now the day began to decline. And the twelve came and said to him: Send away the multitude, that, going into the towns and villages round about, they may lodge and get victuals; for we are here in a desert place. Lk. 9:12
And the multitudes running together, he began to say: This generation is a wicked generation. It asketh a sign: and a sign shall not be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet. Lk. 11:29
And the Pharisee began to say, thinking within himself, why he was not washed before dinner. Lk. 11:38
And as he was saying these things to them, the Pharisees and the lawyers began violently to urge him and to oppress his mouth about many things, Lk. 11:53
¤ And when great multitudes stood about him, so that they trod one upon another, he began to say to his disciples: Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Lk. 12:1
And they began all at once to make excuse. The first said to him: I have bought a farm and I must needs go out and see it. I pray thee, hold me excused. Lk. 14:18
Saying: This man began to build and was not able to finish. Lk. 14:30
And after he had spent all, there came a mighty famine in that country: and he began to be in want. Lk. 15:14
Because this my son was dead and is come to life again, was lost and is found. And they began to be merry. Lk. 15:24
And he was angry and would not go in. His father therefore coming out began to entreat him. Lk. 15:28
And when he was now coming near the descent of Mount Olivet, the whole multitude of his disciples began with joy to praise God with a loud voice, for all the mighty works they had seen, Lk. 19:37
And entering into the temple, he began to cast out them that sold therein and them that bought. Lk. 19:45
And he began to speak to the people this parable: A certain man planted a vineyard and let it out to husbandmen: and he was abroad for a long time. Lk. 20:9
And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. Lk. 22:23
And they began to accuse him, saying: We have found this man perverting our nation and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar and saying that he is Christ the king. Lk. 23:2
After that, he putteth water into a basin and began to wash the feet of the disciples and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Jn. 13:5
