Neither shall thy name be called any more Abram: but thou shalt be called Abraham: because I have made thee a father of many nations. Gen. 17:5

And Abimelech called also for Abraham, and said to him: What hast thou done to us? what have we offended thee in, that thou hast brought upon me and upon my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done to us what thou oughtest not to do. Gen. 20:9
Abraham answered: I thought with myself, saying: Perhaps there is not the fear of God in this place: and they will kill me for the sake of my wife: Gen. 20:11
And Abimelech took sheep and oxen, and servants and handmaids, and gave to Abraham: and restored to him Sara his wife, Gen. 20:14
And when Abraham prayed, God healed Abimelech and his wife, and his handmaids, and they bore children: Gen. 20:17
For the Lord had closed up every womb of the house of Abimelech, on account of Sara, Abraham's wife. Gen. 20:18
And Abraham called the name of his son, whom Sara bore him, Isaac. Gen. 21:3
And again she said: Who would believe that Abraham should hear that Sara gave suck to a son, whom she bore to him in his old age? Gen. 21:7
And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast on the day of his weaning. Gen. 21:8
And when Sara had seen the son of Agar, the Egyptian, playing with Isaac, her son, she said to Abraham: Gen. 21:9

So Abraham rose up in the morning, and taking bread and a bottle of water, put it upon her shoulder, and delivered the boy, and sent her away. And she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Bersabee. Gen. 21:14
At the same time Abimelech, and Phicol the general of his army, said to Abraham: God is with thee in all that thou dost. Gen. 21:22
And Abraham said: I will swear. Gen. 21:24
And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them to Abimelech: and both of them made a league. Gen. 21:27
And Abraham set apart seven ewelambs of the flock. Gen. 21:28
And Abimelech and Phicol, the general of his army, arose and returned to the land of the Palestines. But Abraham planted a grove in Bersabee, and there called upon the name of the Lord God eternal. Gen. 21:33
¤ After these things, God tempted Abraham, and said to him: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am. Gen. 22:1
So Abraham rising up in the night, saddled his ass, and took with him two young men, and Isaac his son: and when he had cut wood for the holocaust, he went his way to the place which God had commanded him. Gen. 22:3
And Abraham said: God will provide himself a victim for an holocaust, my son. So they went on together. Gen. 22:8
And behold, an angel of the Lord from heaven called to him, saying: Abraham, Abraham. And he answered: Here I am. Gen. 22:11
Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw behind his back a ram, amongst the briers, sticking fast by the horns, which he took and offered for a holocaust instead of his son. Gen. 22:13
And the angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time from heaven, saying: Gen. 22:15
Abraham returned to his young men, and they went to Bersabee together, and he dwelt there. Gen. 22:19
After these things, it was told Abraham, that Melcha also had borne children to Nachor his brother. Gen. 22:20
And Bathuel, of whom was born Rebecca: these eight did Melcha bear to Nachor, Abraham's brother. Gen. 22:23
And she died in the city of Arbee which is Hebron, in the land of Chanaan: and Abraham came to mourn and weep for her. Gen. 23:2
Abraham rose up, and bowed down to the people of the land, to wit, the children of Heth: Gen. 23:7
Now Ephron dwelt in the midst of the children of Heth. And Ephron made answer to Abraham in the hearing of all that went in at the gate of the city, saying: Gen. 23:10
Abraham bowed down before the people of the land. Gen. 23:12
And when Abraham had heard this, he weighed out the money that Ephron had asked, in the hearing of the children of Heth, four hundred sicles of silver, of common current money. Gen. 23:16
Was made sure to Abraham for a possession, in the sight of the children of Heth, and of all that went in at the gate of his city. Gen. 23:18
And so Abraham buried Sara, his wife, in the double cave of the field, that looked towards Mambre, this is Hebron in the land of Chanaan. Gen. 23:19
And the field was made sure to Abraham, and the cave that was in it, for a possession to bury in, by the children of Heth. Gen. 23:20
¤ Now Abraham was old, and advanced in age; and the Lord had blessed him in all things. Gen. 24:1
And Abraham said: Beware thou never bring my son back again thither. Gen. 24:6
The servant, therefore, put his hand under the thigh of Abraham, his lord, and swore to him upon his word. Gen. 24:9
O Lord, the God of my master, Abraham, meet me today, I beseech thee, and shew kindness to my master, Abraham. Gen. 24:12
He had not yet ended these words within himself, and behold Rebecca came out, the daughter of Bathuel, son of Melcha, wife to Nachor the brother of Abraham, having a pitcher on her shoulder: Gen. 24:15
Saying: Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not taken away his mercy and truth from my master, and hath brought me the straight way into the house of my master's brother. Gen. 24:27

¤ And when a famine came in the land, after that barrenness which had happened in the days of Abraham, Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Palestines, to Gerara. Gen. 26:1
And sojourn in it, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee: for to thee and to thy seed I will give all these countries, to fulfil the oath which I swore to Abraham thy father. Gen. 26:3
Because Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my precepts and commandments, and observed my ceremonies and laws. Gen. 26:5
Stopped up at that time all the wells, that the servants of his father, Abraham, had digged, filling them up with earth: Gen. 26:15

Men, brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, and whosoever among you fear God: to you the word of this salvation is sent. Acts 13:26
¤ What shall we say then that Abraham hath found, who is our father according to the flesh? Rom. 4:1
For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory, but not before God. Rom. 4:2
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God: and it was reputed to him unto justice. Rom. 4:3
This blessedness then, doth it remain in the circumcision only or in the uncircumcision also? For we say that unto Abraham faith was reputed to justice. Rom. 4:9
And he might be the father of circumcision; not to them only that are of the circumcision, but to them also that follow the steps of the faith that is in the uncircumcision of our father Abraham. Rom. 4:12
For not through the law was the promise to Abraham or to his seed, that he should be heir of the world: but through the justice of faith. Rom. 4:13
Therefore is it of faith, that according to grace the promise might be firm to all the seed: not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, Rom. 4:16
Neither are all they that are the seed of Abraham, children: but in Isaac shall thy seed be called. Rom. 9:7
¤ I say then: Hath God cast away his people? God forbid! For I also am an Israelite of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. Rom. 11:1
They are Hebrews: so am I. They are Israelites: so am I. They are the seed of Abraham: so am I. 2 Cor. 11:22
As it is written: Abraham believed God: and it was reputed to him unto justice. Gal. 3:6
Know ye, therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. Gal. 3:7
And the scripture, foreseeing that God justifieth the Gentiles by faith, told unto Abraham before: In thee shall all nations be blessed. Gal. 3:8
Therefore, they that are of faith shall be blessed with faithful Abraham. Gal. 3:9
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Christ Jesus: that we may receive the promise of the Spirit by faith. Gal. 3:14
To Abraham were the promises made and to his seed. He saith not: And to his seeds as of many. But as of one: And to thy seed, which is Christ. Gal. 3:16
For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise. But God gave it to Abraham by promise. Gal. 3:18
And if you be Christ's, then are you the seed of Abraham, heirs according to the promise. Gal. 3:29
For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman and the other by a free woman. Gal. 4:22
For nowhere doth he take hold of the angels: but of the seed of Abraham he taketh hold. Heb. 2:16
For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself, Heb. 6:13
¤ For this Melchisedech was king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him: Heb. 7:1
To whom also Abraham divided the tithes of all: who first indeed by interpretation is king of justice: and then also king of Salem, that is, king of peace: Heb. 7:2
Now consider how great this man is, to whom also Abraham the patriarch gave tithes out of the principal things. Heb. 7:4
And indeed they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is to say, of their brethren: though they themselves also came out of the loins of Abraham. Heb. 7:5
But he, whose pedigree is not numbered among them, received tithes of Abraham and blessed him that had the promises. Heb. 7:6
And (as it may be said) even Levi who received tithes paid tithes in Abraham: Heb. 7:9
By faith he that is called Abraham obeyed to go out into a place which he was to receive for an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing whither he went. Heb. 11:8
By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, Heb. 11:17
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, offering up Isaac his son upon the altar? Jas. 2:21
And the scripture was fulfilled, saying: Abraham believed God, and it was reputed to him to justice, and he was called the friend of God. Jas. 2:23
As Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters you are, doing well and not fearing any disturbance. 1 Pet. 3:6
