- And David arose and fled that day from the face of Saul: and came to Achis, the king of Geth: 1 Ki. 21:10
- And the servants of Achis, when they saw David, said to him: Is not this David, the king of the land? Did they not sing to him in their dances, saying: Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? 1 Ki. 21:11

- And David said to Achis: But what have I done, or what hast thou found in me thy servant, from the day that I have been in thy sight until this day, that I may not go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king? 1 Ki. 29:8
- And Achis answering, said to David: I know that thou art good in my sight, as an angel of God: But the princes of the Philistines have said: He shall not go up with us to the battle. 1 Ki. 29:9
