• Thou thyself, O Lord alone, thou hast made heaven, and the heaven of heavens, and all the host thereof: the earth and all things that are in it: the seas and all that are therein: and thou givest life to all these things, and the host of heaven adoreth thee. 2 Esd. 9:6
• He that adoreth God with joy, shall be accepted, and his prayer shall approach even to the clouds. Sir. 35:20
• But the residue thereof he made a god, and a graven thing for himself: he boweth down before it, and adoreth it, and prayeth unto it, saying: Deliver me, for thou art my God. Isa. 44:17
