But they that stood by, being moved with wicked pity, for the old friendship they had with the man, taking him aside, desired that flesh might be brought which it was lawful for him to eat, that he might make as if he had eaten, as the king had commanded, of the flesh of the sacrifice: 2 Ma. 6:21
That by so doing he might be delivered from death; and for the sake of their old friendship with the man, they did him this courtesy. 2 Ma. 6:22

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power towards us, who believe according to the operation of the might of his power, Eph. 1:19

Making void the law of commandments contained in decrees: that he might make the two in himself into one new man, making peace Eph. 2:15

He that descended is the same also that ascended above all the heavens: that he might fill all things. Eph. 4:10

That he might present it to himself, a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Eph. 5:27
Finally, brethren, be strengthened in the Lord and in the might of his power. Eph. 6:10
Because for the work of Christ he came to the point of death: delivering his life, that he might fulfil that which on your part was wanting towards my service. Phil. 2:30
Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other thinketh he may have confidence in the flesh, I more: Phil. 3:4
Strengthened with all might according to the power of his glory, in all patience and longsuffering with joy, Col. 1:11
Nor sought we glory of men, neither of you, nor of others. Whereas we might have been burdensome to you, as the apostles of Christ: 1 Th. 2:6

But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour: that, through the grace of God he might taste death for all. Heb. 2:9
Therefore because the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner hath been partaker of the same: that, through death, he might destroy him who had the empire of death, that is to say, the devil: Heb. 2:14
And might deliver them, who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to servitude. Heb. 2:15
Wherefore, it behoved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest before God, that he might be a propitiation for the sins of the people. Heb. 2:17
So Christ also did not glorify himself, that he might be made a high priest: but he that said unto him: Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee. Heb. 5:5
For God making promise to Abraham, because he had no one greater by whom he might swear, swore by himself, Heb. 6:13
By faith we understand that the world was framed by the word of God: that from invisible things visible things might be made. Heb. 11:3
