And he answered them: Because Israel took away my land, when he came up out of Egypt, from the confines of the Arnon unto the Jaboc and the Jordan: now, therefore, restore the same peaceably to me. Judg. 11:13

Now the Lord had revealed to the ear of Samuel the day before Saul came, saying: 1 Ki. 9:15
And when they were risen in the morning, and it began now to be light, Samuel called Saul on the top of the house, saying: Arise, that I may let thee go. And Saul arose: and they went out both of them: to wit, he and Samuel. 1 Ki. 9:26
But you this day have rejected your God, who only hath saved you out of all your evils and your tribulations: and you have said: Nay: but set a king over us. Now therefore stand before the Lord by your tribes, and by your families. 1 Ki. 10:19
And now the king goeth before you: but I am old and greyheaded: and my sons are with you: having then conversed with you from my youth until this day, behold here I am. 1 Ki. 12:2
Now, therefore, stand up, that I may plead in judgment against you before the Lord, concerning all the kindness of the Lord, which he hath shewn to you, and to your fathers: 1 Ki. 12:7

Now there were between the ascents, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the garrison of the Philistines, rocks standing up on both sides, and steep cliffs like teeth on the one side, and on the other, the name of the one was Boses, and the name of the other was Sene: 1 Ki. 14:4
And they told Saul that the people had sinned against the Lord, eating with the blood. And he said: You have transgressed: roll here to me now a great stone. 1 Ki. 14:33
¤ And Samuel said to Saul: The Lord sent me to anoint thee king over his people Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the Lord: 1 Ki. 15:1
Now therefore go, and smite Amalec, and utterly destroy all that he hath: spare him not, nor covet anything that is his: but slay both man and woman, child and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass. 1 Ki. 15:3
But now bear, I beseech thee, my sin, and return with me, that I may adore the Lord. 1 Ki. 15:25
Then he said: I have sinned: yet honour me now before the ancients of my people, and before Israel, and return with me, that I may adore the Lord thy God. 1 Ki. 15:30
He sent therefore and brought him. Now he was ruddy and beautiful to behold, and of a comely face. And the Lord said: Arise, and anoint him, for this is he. 1 Ki. 16:12
And the servants of Saul said to him: Behold now an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. 1 Ki. 16:15
¤ Now the Philistines gathering together their troops to battle, assembled at Socho of Juda: and camped between Socho and Azeca, in the borders of Dommim. 1 Ki. 17:1
Now David was the son of that Ephrathite, of Bethlehem Juda, before mentioned, whose name was Isai, who had eight sons, and was an old man in the days of Saul, and of great age among men. 1 Ki. 17:12
Now the Philistine came out morning and evening, and presented himself forty days. 1 Ki. 17:16
Now when Eliab his eldest brother heard this, when he was speaking with others, he was angry with David, and said: Why camest thou hither? and why didst thou leave those few sheep in the desert? I know thy pride, and the wickedness of thy heart: that thou art come down to see the battle. 1 Ki. 17:28
For I thy servant have killed both a lion and a bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be also as one of them. I will go now, and take away the reproach of the people: for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, who hath dared to curse the army of the living God? 1 Ki. 17:36
Now at the time that Saul saw David going out against the Philistines, he said to Abner, the captain of the army: Of what family is this young man descended, Abner? And Abner said: As thy soul liveth, O king, I know not. 1 Ki. 17:55
Now when David returned, after he slew the Philistine, the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with timbrels of joy, and cornets. 1 Ki. 18:6
And Saul said to David: Behold my elder daughter Merob, her will I give thee to wife: only be a valiant man, and fight the battles of the Lord. Now Saul said within himself: Let not my hand be upon him, but let the hands of the Philistines be upon him. 1 Ki. 18:17
And Saul commanded his servants to speak to David privately, saying: Behold, thou pleasest the king, and all his servants love thee. Now, therefore be the king's son in law. 1 Ki. 18:22
And Saul said: Speak thus to David: The king desireth not any dowry, but only a hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king's enemies. Now Saul thought to deliver David into the hands of the Philistines. 1 Ki. 18:25
And he said: Let me go, for there is a solemn sacrifice in the city, one of my brethren hath sent for me: and now if I have found favour in thy eyes, I will go quickly, and see my brethren. For this cause he came not to the king's table. 1 Ki. 20:29
For as long as the son of Isai liveth upon earth, thou shalt not be established, nor thy kingdom. Therefore now presently send, and fetch him to me: for he is the son of death. 1 Ki. 20:31

And David answered the priest, and said to him: Truly, as to what concerneth women, we have refrained ourselves from yesterday and the day before, when we came out, and the vessels of the young men were holy. Now at that time, when Abiathar, the son of Achimelech, fled to David, to Ceila, he came down, having an ephod with him. 1 Ki. 23:6
Now when David understood that Saul secretly prepared evil against him, he said to Abiathar, the priest: Bring hither the ephod. 1 Ki. 23:9
Now therefore come down, as thy soul hath desired to come down: and it shall be our business to deliver him into the king's hands. 1 Ki. 23:20
And he came to the sheepcotes which were in his way. And there was a cave, into which Saul went, to ease nature: now David and his men lay hid in the inner part of the cave. 1 Ki. 24:3
And now as I know that thou shalt surely be king, and have the kingdom of Israel in thy hand: 1 Ki. 24:20
Now there was a certain man in the wilderness of Maon, and his possessions were in Carmel, and the man was very great: and he had three thousand sheep, and a thousand goats: and it happened that he was shearing his sheep in Carmel. 1 Ki. 25:2
Now the name of the man was Nabal: and the name of his wife was Abigail. And she was a prudent and very comely woman: but her husband was churlish, and very bad and ill natured: and he was of the house of Caleb. 1 Ki. 25:3
Ask thy servants, and they will tell thee. Now therefore let thy servants find favour in thy eyes: for we are come in a good day, whatsoever thy hand shall find give to thy servants, and to thy son David. 1 Ki. 25:8
But Nabal answering the servants of David, said: Who is David? and what is the son of Isai? servants are multiplied now a days who flee from their masters. 1 Ki. 25:10
Now therefore, my lord, the Lord liveth, and thy soul liveth, who hath withholden thee from coming to blood, and hath saved thy hand to thee: and now let thy enemies be as Nabal, and all they that seek evil to my lord. 1 Ki. 25:26
And Abisai said to David: God hath shut up thy enemy this day into thy hands: now then I will run him through with my spear, even to the earth at once, and there shall be no need of a second time. 1 Ki. 26:8
The Lord be merciful unto me, and keep me that I never put forth my hand against the Lord's anointed. But now take the spear which is at his head, and the cup of water, and let us go. 1 Ki. 26:11
This thing is not good, that thou hast done: as the Lord liveth, you are the sons of death, who have not kept your master, the Lord's anointed. And now where is the king's spear, and the cup of water, which was at his head? 1 Ki. 26:16
Now therefore hear, I pray thee, my lord the king, the words of thy servant: If the Lord stir thee up against me, let him accept of sacrifice: but if the sons of men, they are cursed in the sight of the Lord, who have cast me out this day, that I should not dwell in the inheritance of the Lord, saying: Go, serve strange gods. 1 Ki. 26:19
And now let not my blood be shed upon the earth before the Lord: for the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as the partridge is hunted in the mountains. 1 Ki. 26:20
¤ And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered together their armies, to be prepared for war against Israel: And Achis said to David: Know thou now assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to the war, thou, and thy men. 1 Ki. 28:1
And David said to Achis: Now thou shalt know what thy servant will do. And Achis said to David: And I will appoint thee to guard my life for ever. 1 Ki. 28:2
Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel mourned for him, and buried him in Ramatha, his city. And Saul had put away all the magicians and soothsayers out of the land. 1 Ki. 28:3
Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also to the voice of thy handmaid, and let me set before thee a morsel of bread, that thou mayst eat and recover strength, and be able to go on thy journey. 1 Ki. 28:22
Now the woman had a fatted calf in the house, and she made haste and killed it: and taking meal, kneaded it, and baked some unleavened bread, 1 Ki. 28:24
¤ Now all the troops of the Philistines were gathered together to Aphec: and Israel also encamped by the fountain, which is in Jezrahel. 1 Ki. 29:1
¤ Now when David and his men were come to Siceleg on the third day, the Amalecites had made an invasion on the south side upon Siceleg, and had smitten Siceleg, and burnt it with fire, 1 Ki. 30:1
Now when the inhabitants of Jabes Galaad had heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul, 1 Ki. 31:11
‡ ¤ Now it came to pass, after Saul was dead, that David returned from the slaughter of the Amalecites, and abode two days in Siceleg. 2 Ki. 1:1
And now the Lord surely will render you mercy and truth, and I also will requite you for this good turn, because you have done this thing. 2 Ki. 2:6
And there were the three sons of Sarvia there, Joab, and Abisai, and Asael: now Asael was a most swift runner, like one of the roes that abide in the woods. 2 Ki. 2:18
Now while Joab and Abisai pursued after Abner, the sun went down: and they came as far as the hill of the aqueduct, that lieth over against the valley by the way of the wilderness in Gabaon. 2 Ki. 2:24
¤ Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David: David prospering and growing always stronger and stronger, but the house of Saul decaying daily. 2 Ki. 3:1
Now while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, Abner the son of Ner ruled the house of Saul. 2 Ki. 3:6
Now then do it: because the Lord hath spoken to David, saying: By the hand of my servant David I will save my people Israel from the hands of the Philistines, and of all their enemies. 2 Ki. 3:18
And Abner said to David: I will rise, that I may gather all Israel unto thee my lord the king, and may enter into a league with thee, and that thou mayst reign over all as thy soul desireth. Now when David had brought Abner on his way, and he was gone in peace, 2 Ki. 3:21
Immediately, David's servants and Joab came, after having slain the robbers, with an exceeding great booty. And Abner was not with David in Hebron, for he had now sent him away, and he was gone in peace. 2 Ki. 3:22
And when David heard of it, after the thing was now done, he said: I, and my kingdom are innocent before the Lord for ever of the blood of Abner the son of Ner: 2 Ki. 3:28
Now the son of Saul had two men captains of his bands, the name of the one was Baana, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Remmon a Berothite of the children of Benjamin: for Beroth also was reckoned in Benjamin. 2 Ki. 4:2
How much more now when wicked men have slain an innocent man in his own house, upon his bed, shall I not require his blood at your hand, and take you away from the earth? 2 Ki. 4:11

Perhaps he now lieth hid in pits, or in some other place where he liest: and when any one shall fall at the first, every one that heareth it shall say: There is a slaughter among the people that followed Absalom. 2 Ki. 17:9

Now Absalom appointed Amasa in Joab's stead over the army: and Amasa was the son of a man who was called Jethra, of Jezrael, who went in to Abigail the daughter of Naas, the sister of Sarvia who was the mother of Joab. 2 Ki. 17:25
Now Absalom had reared up for himself, in his lifetime, a pillar, which is in the king's valley: for he said: I have no son, and this shall be the monument of my name. And he called the pillar by his own name, and it is called the hand of Absalom, to this day. 2 Ki. 18:18
Thou lovest them that hate thee, and thou hatest them that love thee: and thou hast shewn this day that thou carest not for thy nobles, nor for thy servants: and I now plainly perceive that if Absalom had lived, and all we had been slain, then it would have pleased thee. 2 Ki. 19:6
Now therefore arise, and go out, and speak to the satisfaction of thy servants: for I swear to thee by the Lord, that if thou wilt not go forth, there will not tarry with thee so much as one this night: and that will be worse to thee, than all the evils that have befallen thee from thy youth until now. 2 Ki. 19:7

Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had cleansed the land, and the temple of the Lord, he sent Saphan the son of Elselias, and Maasias the governor of the city, Joha the son of Joachaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God. 2 Par. 34:8

Now therefore, my lord, search if there be any iniquity of theirs in the sight of their God: let us go up to them, because their God will surely deliver them to thee, and they shall be brought under the yoke of thy power: Jud. 5:24
Now there were in his troops a hundred and twenty thousand footmen, and two and twenty thousand horsemen, besides the preparations of those men who had been taken, and who had been brought away out of the provinces and cities of all the youth. Jud. 7:2

And Judith his relict was a widow now three years and six months. Jud. 8:4
And now, brethren, as you are the ancients among the people of God, and their very soul resteth upon you: comfort their hearts by your speech, that they may be mindful how our fathers were tempted that they might be proved, whether they worshipped their God truly. Jud. 8:21

Now when every virgin's turn came to go in to the king, after all had been done for setting them off to advantage, it was the twelfth month: so that for six months they were anointed with oil of myrrh, and for other six months they used certain perfumes and sweet spices. Esther 2:12
Now when Aman had heard this, and had proved by experience that Mardochai did not bend his knee to him, nor worship him, he was exceeding angry. Esther 3:5
¤ Now when Mardochai had heard these things, he rent his garments, and put on sackcloth, strewing ashes on his head and he cried with a loud voice in the street in the midst of the city, shewing the anguish of his mind. Esther 4:1
All the king's servants, and all the provinces that are under his dominion, know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, cometh into the king's inner court, who is not called for, is immediately to be put to death without any delay: except the king shall hold out the golden sceptre to him, in token of clemency, that so he may live. How then can I go in to the king, who for these thirty days now have not been called unto him? Esther 4:11
For if thou wilt now hold thy peace, the Jews shall be delivered by some other occasion: and thou, and thy father's house shall perish. And who knoweth whether thou art not therefore come to the kingdom, that thou mightest be ready in such a time as this? Esther 4:14
And now, O Lord, O king, O God of Abraham, have mercy on thy people, because our enemies resolve to destroy us, and extinguish thy inheritance. Esther 13:15
And now they are not content to oppress us with most hard bondage, but attributing the strength of their hands to the power of their idols. Esther 14:8

Now this is proved both from ancient histories, and by the things which are done daily, how the good designs of kings are depraved by the evil suggestions of certain men. Esther 16:7

Now then behold I have loosed thee this day from the chains which were upon thy hands: if it please thee to come with me to Babylon, come: and I will set my eyes upon thee: but if it do not please thee to come with me to Babylon, stay here: behold all the land is before thee, as thou shalt choose, and whither it shall please thee to go, thither go. Now after ten days, the word of the Lord came to Jeremias. Jer. 42:7

Because a greater spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, and interpretation of dreams, and shewing of secrets, and resolving of difficult things, were found in him, that is, in Daniel: whom the king named Baltassar. Now, therefore, let Daniel be called for, and he will tell the interpretation. Dan. 5:12
And now the wise men, the magicians, have come in before me, to read this writing, and shew me the interpretation thereof; and they could not declare to me the meaning of this writing. Dan. 5:15
But I have heard of thee, that thou canst interpret obscure things, and resolve difficult things: now if thou art able to read the writing, and to shew me the interpretation thereof, thou shalt be clothed with purple, and shalt have a chain of gold about thy neck, and shalt be the third prince in my kingdom. Dan. 5:16
Now, therefore, O king, confirm the sentence, and sign the decree: that what is decreed by the Medes and Persians may not be altered, nor any man be allowed to transgress it. Dan. 6:8
Now, when Daniel knew this, that is to say, that the law was made, he went into his house: and opening the windows in his upper chamber towards Jerusalem, he knelt down three times a day, and adored and gave thanks before his God, as he had been accustomed to do before. Dan. 6:10
Now when the king had heard these words, he was very much grieved, and in behalf of Daniel he set his heart to deliver him, and even till sunset he laboured to save him. Dan. 6:14
Now Daniel continued unto the reign of Darius, and the reign of Cyrus, the Persian. Dan. 6:28
Now the Babylonians had an idol called Bel: and there was spent upon him every day twelve great measures of fine flour, and forty sheep, and six vessels of wine. Dan. 14:2
Now the priests of Bel were seventy, besides their wives, and little ones, and children. And the king went with Daniel into the temple of Bel. Dan. 14:9
And the king said to Daniel: Behold, thou canst not say now, that this is not a living god: adore him, therefore. Dan. 14:23

And he said to me: Daniel, thou man of desires, understand the words that I speak to thee, and stand upright: for I am sent now to thee. And when he had said this word to me, I stood trembling. Dan. 10:11
And he said: Dost thou know wherefore I am come to thee? And now I will return, to fight against the prince of the Persians. When I went forth, there appeared the prince of the Greeks coming. Dan. 10:20
And now I will shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand yet three kings in Persia, and the fourth shall be enriched exceedingly above them all: and when he shall be grown mighty by his riches, he shall stir up all against the kingdom of Greece. Dan. 11:2
And she shall follow after her lovers, and shall not overtake them: and she shall seek them, and shall not find, and she shall say: I will go, and return to my first husband: because it was better with me then than now. Osee 2:7

For now they shall say: We have no king: because we fear not the Lord: and what shall a king do to us? Osee 10:3

Now, why art thou drawn together with grief? Hast thou no king in thee, or is thy counsellor perished, because sorrow hath taken thee as a woman in labour. Mic. 4:9

¤ Now shalt thou be laid waste, O daughter of the robber: they have laid siege against us, with a rod shall they strike the cheek of the judge of Israel. Mic. 5:1
And he shall stand, and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the height of the name of the Lord, his God: and they shall be converted, for now shall he be magnified even to the ends of the earth. Mic. 5:4
He that is best among them, is as a brier, and he that is righteous, as the thorn of the hedge. The day of thy inspection, thy visitation cometh: now shall be their destruction. Mic. 7:4
And my enemy shall behold, and she shall be covered with shame, who saith to me: Where is the Lord thy God? my eyes shall look down upon her: now shall she be trodden under foot as the mire of the streets. Mic. 7:10
And now I will break in pieces his rod with which he struck thy back, and I will burst thy bonds asunder. Nah. 1:13

Then Judas, and his brethren said: Behold our enemies are discomfited: let us go up now to cleanse the holy places, and to repair them. 1 Ma. 4:36
¤ Now it came to pass, when the nations round about heard that the altar and the sanctuary were built up, as before, that they were exceeding angry. 1 Ma. 5:1
Now therefore come, and deliver us out of their hands, for many of us are slain. 1 Ma. 5:12
Now when Judas and all the people heard these words, a great assembly met together to consider what they should do for their brethren that were in trouble, and were assaulted by them. 1 Ma. 5:16

And I said in my heart: Into how much tribulation am I come, and into what floods of sorrow wherein now I am: I that was pleasant and beloved in my power! 1 Ma. 6:11
But now I remember the evils that I did in Jerusalem, from whence also I took away all the spoils of gold, and of silver, that were in it, and I sent to destroy the inhabitants of Juda without cause. 1 Ma. 6:12
Now they that were in the castle, had shut up the Israelites round about the holy places: and they were continually seeking their hurt, and to strengthen the Gentiles. 1 Ma. 6:18
Now when the king heard this, he was angry: and he called together all his friends, and the captains of his army, and them that were over the horsemen. 1 Ma. 6:28

And all the wicked held a council, saying: Behold Jonathan, and they that are with him, dwell at ease and without fear: now, therefore, let us bring Bacchides hither, and he shall take them all in one night. 1 Ma. 9:58
¤ Now in the hundred and sixtieth year, Alexander, the son of Antiochus, surnamed the Illustrious, came up and took Ptolemais, and they received him, and he reigned there. 1 Ma. 10:1

Now therefore, we make thee this day high priest of thy nation, and that thou be called the king's friend, (and he sent him a purple robe, and a crown of gold) and that thou be of one mind with us in our affairs, and keep friendship with us. 1 Ma. 10:20

Now when Jonathan and the people heard these words, they gave no credit to them, nor received them because they remembered the great evil that he had done in Israel, for he had afflicted them exceedingly. 1 Ma. 10:46
Now, therefore, let us make friendship one with another: and give me now thy daughter to wife, and I will be thy son in law, and I will give both thee and her gifts worthy of thee. 1 Ma. 10:54

Now when Jonathan heard the words of Apollonius, he was moved in his mind: and he chose ten thousand men, and went out of Jerusalem, and Simon, his brother, met him to help him. 1 Ma. 10:74
Now when Ptolemee entered into the cities, he put garrisons of soldiers in every city. 1 Ma. 11:3
Now king Alexander was in Cilicia at that time: because they that were in those places had rebelled. 1 Ma. 11:14
Now, therefore, see that thou make a copy of these things, and let it be given to Jonathan, and set upon the holy mountain, in a conspicuous place. 1 Ma. 11:37
Now there was one Tryphon who had been of Alexander's party before: who seeing that all the army murmured against Demetrius, went to Emalchuel, the Arabian, who brought up Antiochus, the son of Alexander: 1 Ma. 11:39
Now, therefore, thou shalt do well if thou send me men to help me: for all my army is gone from me. 1 Ma. 11:43
And now you shall do well to give us an answer hereto. 1 Ma. 12:18
And now since this is come to our knowledge, you do well to write to us of your prosperity. 1 Ma. 12:22
Now Jonathan heard that the generals of Demetrius were come again with a greater army than before to fight against him. 1 Ma. 12:24
Now when Tryphon had conceived a design to make himself king of Asia and to take the crown, and to stretch out his hand against king Antiochus: 1 Ma. 12:39
Now when Tryphon saw that Jonathan came with a great army, he durst not stretch forth his hand against him. 1 Ma. 12:42
Now, therefore, send them back to their own houses: and choose thee a few men that may be with thee, and come with me to Ptolemais, and I will deliver it to thee, and the rest of the strong holds, and the army, and all that have any charge, and I will return and go away: for this is the cause of my coming. 1 Ma. 12:45
Now as soon as Jonathan entered into Ptolemais, they of Ptolemais shut the gates of the city, and took him: and all them that came in with him they slew with the sword. 1 Ma. 12:48
They have no prince, nor any to help them: now therefore, let us make war upon them, and take away the memory of them from amongst men. 1 Ma. 12:54
¤ Now Simon heard that Tryphon was gathering together a very great army to invade the land of Juda, and to destroy it. 1 Ma. 13:1
And now far be it from me to spare my life in any time of trouble: for I am not better than my brethren. 1 Ma. 13:5
But now send a hundred talents of silver, and his two sons for hostages, that when he is set at liberty he may not revolt from us, and we will release him. 1 Ma. 13:16
Now Simon knew that he spoke deceitfully to him; nevertheless, he ordered the money and the children to be sent, lest he should bring upon himself a great hatred of the people of Israel, who might have said: 1 Ma. 13:17
And as for any oversight or fault committed unto this day, we forgive it: and the crown which you owed: and if any other thing were taxed in Jerusalem, now let it not be taxed. 1 Ma. 13:39

Now I beseech those that shall read this book, that they be not shocked at these calamities, but that they consider the things that happened, not as being for the destruction, but for the correction of our nation. 2 Ma. 6:12

But when he was now ready to die with the stripes, he groaned: and said: O Lord, who hast the holy knowledge, thou knowest manifestly that whereas I might be delivered from death, I suffer grievous pains in body: but in soul am well content to suffer these things, because I fear thee. 2 Ma. 6:30
And when he was now maimed in all parts, he commanded him, being yet alive, to be brought to the fire, and to be fried in the fryingpan: and while he was suffering therein long torments, the rest, together with the mother, exhorted one another to die manfully, 2 Ma. 7:5
And said with confidence: These I have from heaven, but for the laws of God I now despise them, because I hope to receive them again from him. 2 Ma. 7:11
And when he was now ready to die, he spoke thus: It is better, being put to death by men, to look for hope from God, to be raised up again by him; for, as to thee, thou shalt have no resurrection unto life. 2 Ma. 7:14
Now the mother was to be admired above measure, and worthy to be remembered by good men, who beheld her seven sons slain in the space of one day, and bore it with a good courage, for the hope that she had in God: 2 Ma. 7:20
But the Creator of the world, that formed the nativity of man, and that found out the origin of all, he will restore to you again, in his mercy, both breath and life, as now you despise yourselves for the sake of his laws. 2 Ma. 7:23
Now Antiochus, thinking himself despised, and withal despising the voice of the upbraider, when the youngest was yet alive, did not only exhort him by words, but also assured him with an oath, that he would make him a rich and a happy man, and, if he would turn from the laws of his fathers, would take him for a friend, and furnish him with things necessary. 2 Ma. 7:24
For my brethren having now undergone a short pain, are under the covenant of eternal life: but thou, by the judgment of God, shalt receive just punishment for thy pride. 2 Ma. 7:36
But now there is enough said of the sacrifices and of the excessive cruelties. 2 Ma. 7:42
Now when Machabeus had gathered a multitude, he could not be withstood by the heathens: for the wrath of the Lord was turned into mercy. 2 Ma. 8:5

Now upon the same day that the temple had been polluted by the strangers on the very same day it was cleansed again; to wit, on the five and twentieth day of the month of Casleu. 2 Ma. 10:5
Therefore they now carried boughs and green branches and palms, for him that had given them good success in cleansing his place. 2 Ma. 10:7

Now when Timotheus had knowledge of the coming of Judas, he sent the women and children, and the other baggage, before him into a fortress, called Carnion: for it was impregnable, and hard to come at, by reason of the straitness of the places. 2 Ma. 12:21
Now there was in that place a tower fifty cubits high, having a heap of ashes on every side: this had a prospect steep down. 2 Ma. 13:5
Which when Judas understood, he commanded the people to call upon the Lord day and night, that as he had always done, so now also he would help them: 2 Ma. 13:10
Now this was done at the break of day, by the protection and help of the Lord. 2 Ma. 13:17
Now Judas sent necessaries to them that were within 2 Ma. 13:20
Now one Alcimus, who had been chief priest, but had wilfully defiled himself in the time of mingling with the heathens, seeing that there was no safety for him, nor access to the altar, 2 Ma. 14:3
For I also being deprived of my ancestor's glory (I mean of the high priesthood) am now come hither: 2 Ma. 14:7
Now when this man had spoken to this effect the rest also of the king's friends, who were enemies of Judas, incensed Demetrius against him. 2 Ma. 14:11
Now when the Jews heard of Nicanor's coming, and that the nations were assembled against them, they cast earth upon their heads, and made supplication to him who chose his people to keep them for ever, and who protected his portion by evident signs. 2 Ma. 14:15
Now Simon, the brother of Judas, had joined battle with Nicanor: but was frightened with the sudden coming of the adversaries. 2 Ma. 14:17
Therefore now, O Lord, the holy of all holies, keep this house for ever undefiled, which was lately cleansed. 2 Ma. 14:36
Now Razias, one of the ancients of Jerusalem, was accused to Nicanor, a man that was a lover of the city, and of good report, who for his kindness was called the father of the Jews. 2 Ma. 14:37
Now as the multitude sought to rush into his house, and to break open the door, and to set fire to it, when he was ready to be taken, he struck himself with his sword: 2 Ma. 14:41
And standing upon a steep rock, when he was now almost without blood, grasping his bowels, with both hands he cast them upon the throng, calling upon the Lord of life and spirit, to restore these to him again: and so he departed this life. 2 Ma. 14:46
And he exhorted his people not to fear the coming of the nations, but to remember the help they had before received from heaven, and now to hope for victory from the Almighty. 2 Ma. 15:8
Now the vision was in this manner. Onias, who had been high priest, a good and virtuous man, modest in his looks, gentle in his manners, and graceful in speech, and who from a child was exercised in virtues holding up his hands, prayed for all the people of the Jews: 2 Ma. 15:12
And now when all expected what judgment would be given, and the enemies were at hand, and the army was set in array, the beasts and the horsemen ranged in convenient places, 2 Ma. 15:20
Send now also, O Lord of heaven, thy good angel before us, for the fear and dread of the greatness of thy arm, 2 Ma. 15:23
Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost. Mt. 1:18
Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying: Mt. 1:22
For now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that doth not yield good fruit, shall be cut down, and cast into the fire. Mt. 3:10
And Jesus answering, said to him: Suffer it to be so now. For so it becometh us to fulfil all justice. Then he suffered him. Mt. 3:15
As he was speaking these things unto them, behold a certain ruler came up, and adored him, saying: Lord, my daughter is even now dead; but come, lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live. Mt. 9:18

He saved others: himself he cannot save. If he be the king of Israel, let him now come down from the cross: and we will believe him. Mt. 27:42
He trusted in God: let him now deliver him if he will have him. For he said: I am the Son of God. Mt. 27:43
Now from the sixth hour, there was darkness over the whole earth, until the ninth hour. Mt. 27:45
Now the centurion and they that were with him watching Jesus, having seen the earthquake and the things that were done, were sore afraid, saying: Indeed this was the Son of God. Mt. 27:54
Who had his dwelling in the tombs, and no man now could bind him, not even with chains. Mk. 5:3

Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife and died leaving no issue. Mk. 12:20
For in those days shall be such tribulations as were not from the beginning of the creation which God created until now: neither shall be. Mk. 13:19
Now of the fig tree learn ye a parable. When the branch thereof is now tender and the leaves are come forth, you know that summer is very near. Mk. 13:28
¤ Now the feast of the pasch and of the Azymes was after two days: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might by some wile lay hold on him and kill him. Mk. 14:1
Now there were some that had indignation within themselves and said: Why was this waste of the ointment made? Mk. 14:4
Now on the first day of the unleavened bread, when they sacrificed the pasch, the disciples say to him: Whither wilt thou that we go and prepare for thee to eat the pasch? Mk. 14:12
And he cometh the third time and saith to them: Sleep ye now and take your rest. It is enough. The hour is come: behold the Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of sinners. Mk. 14:41
Now when Peter was in the court below, there cometh one of the maidservants of the high priest. Mk. 14:66

For now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that bringeth not forth good fruit shall be cut down and cast into the fire. Lk. 3:9
Now it came to pass, when all the people were baptized, that Jesus also being baptized and praying, heaven was opened. Lk. 3:21
Now when he had ceased to speak, he said to Simon: Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught. Lk. 5:4

And when he was come forth to the land, there met him a certain man who had a devil now a very long time. And he wore no clothes: neither did he abide in a house, but in the sepulchres. Lk. 8:27

Now Herod, the tetrarch, heard of all things that were done by him. And he was in a doubt, because it was said by some that John was risen from the dead: Lk. 9:7

Now, if God clothe in this manner the grass that is to-day in the field and to-morrow is cast into the oven: how much more you, O ye of little faith? Lk. 12:28
And he sent his servant at the hour of supper to say to them that were invited, that they should come: for now all things are ready. Lk. 14:17

And the son said to him: Father: I have sinned against heaven and before thee I am not now worthy to be called thy son. Lk. 15:21
Now his elder son was in the field and when he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. Lk. 15:25
And he called him and said to him: How is it that I hear this of thee? Give an account of thy stewardship: for now thou canst be steward no longer. Lk. 16:2
Now the Pharisees, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. Lk. 16:14
And Abraham said to him: Son, remember that thou didst receive good things in thy lifetime, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted and thou art tormented. Lk. 16:25

And when he was now coming near the descent of Mount Olivet, the whole multitude of his disciples began with joy to praise God with a loud voice, for all the mighty works they had seen, Lk. 19:37

Now that the dead rise again, Moses also shewed at the bush, when he called the Lord: The God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob. Lk. 20:37
When they now shoot forth their fruit, you know that summer is nigh; Lk. 21:30
¤ Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the pasch, was at hand. Lk. 22:1
Then said he unto them: But now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a scrip: and he that hath not, let him sell his coat and buy a sword. Lk. 22:36
Now of necessity he was to release unto them one upon the feast day. Lk. 23:17
Now, the centurion, seeing what was done, glorified God, saying: Indeed this was a just man. Lk. 23:47
But we hoped that it was he that should have redeemed Israel. And now besides all this, to-day is the third day since these things were done. Lk. 24:21
But they constrained him, saying: Stay with us, because it is towards evening and the day is now far spent. And he went in with them. Lk. 24:29
Now, whilst they were speaking these things, Jesus stood in the midst of them and saith to them: Peace be to you. It is I: Fear not. Lk. 24:36
He saith to them: Come and see. They came and saw where he abode: and they stayed with him that day. Now it was about the tenth hour. Jn. 1:39
Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Jn. 1:44
Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three measures apiece. Jn. 2:6
And Jesus saith to them: Draw out now and carry to the chief steward of the feast. And they carried it. Jn. 2:8
And saith to him: Every man at first setteth forth good wine, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse. But thou hast kept the good wine until now. Jn. 2:10

Him when Jesus had seen lying, and knew that he had been now a long time, he saith to him: Wilt thou be made whole? Jn. 5:6
But Jesus answered them: My Father worketh until now; and I work. Jn. 5:17
Amen, amen, I say unto you, that the hour cometh, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. Jn. 5:25
Now the pasch, the festival day of the Jews, was near at hand. Jn. 6:4
Then Jesus said: Make the men sit down. Now, there was much grass in the place. The men therefore sat down, in number about five thousand. Jn. 6:10
Now those men, when they had seen what a miracle Jesus had done, said: This is of a truth the prophet that is to come into the world. Jn. 6:14
And when they had gone up into a ship, they went over the sea to Capharnaum. And it was now dark: and Jesus was not come unto them. Jn. 6:17
Now this is the will of the Father who sent me: that of all that he hath given me, I should lose nothing; but should raise it up again in the last day. Jn. 6:39
Now he meant Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon: for this same was about to betray him, whereas he was one of the twelve. Jn. 6:71
Now the Jews' feast of tabernacles was at hand. Jn. 7:2
Now, about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught. Jn. 7:14
Now this he said of the Spirit which they should receive who believed in him: for as yet the Spirit was not given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. Jn. 7:39
And said to him: Master, this woman was even now taken in adultery. Jn. 8:4
Now Moses in the law commanded us to stone such a one. But what sayest thou? Jn. 8:5
Who said: No man, Lord. And Jesus said: Neither will I condemn thee. Go, and now sin no more. Jn. 8:11
Now the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the son abideth for ever. Jn. 8:35
But now you seek to kill me, a man who have spoken the truth to you, which I have heard of God. This Abraham did not. Jn. 8:40
The Jews therefore said: Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets: and thou sayest: If any man keep my word, he shall not taste death for ever. Jn. 8:52
Now it was the sabbath, when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. Jn. 9:14
And asked them, saying: Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then doth he now see? Jn. 9:19
But how he now seeth, we know not: or who hath opened his eyes, we know not. Ask himself: he is of age: Let him speak for himself. Jn. 9:21
He said therefore to them: If he be a sinner, I know not. One thing I know, that whereas I was blind, now I see. Jn. 9:25
Now we know that God doth not hear sinners: but if a man be a server of God and doth his, will, him he heareth. Jn. 9:31
Jesus said to them: If you were blind, you should not have sin: but now you say: We see. Your sin remaineth. Jn. 9:41
¤ Now there was a certain man sick, named Lazarus, of Bethania, of the town of Mary and of Martha her sister. Jn. 11:1
Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister Mary and Lazarus. Jn. 11:5
The disciples say to him: Rabbi, the Jews but now sought to stone thee. And goest thou thither again? Jn. 11:8
(Now Bethania was near Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off.) Jn. 11:18
But now also I know that whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. Jn. 11:22
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself, cometh to the sepulchre. Now it was a cave; and a stone was laid over it. Jn. 11:38
Jesus saith: Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith to him: Lord, by this time he stinketh, for he is now of four days. Jn. 11:39
Now he said this not because he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief and, having the purse, carried the things that were put therein. Jn. 12:6
Now there were certain Gentiles among them, who came up to adore on the festival day. Jn. 12:20
Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause I came unto this hour. Jn. 12:27
Now is the judgment of the world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. Jn. 12:31

And when supper was done (the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray him), Jn. 13:2
Jesus answered and said to him: What I do, thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. Jn. 13:7
Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. Jn. 13:23
Now no man at the table knew to what purpose he said this unto him. Jn. 13:28
When he therefore was gone out, Jesus said: Now is the Son of man glorified; and God is glorified in him. Jn. 13:31
Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me. And as I said to the Jews: Whither I go you cannot come; so I say to you now. Jn. 13:33
Simon Peter saith to him: Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered: Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now: but thou shalt follow hereafter. Jn. 13:36
Peter saith to him: Why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thee. Jn. 13:37
And now I have told you before it come to pass: that when it shall come to pass, you may believe. Jn. 14:29
I will not now speak many things with you. For the prince of this world: cometh: and in me he hath not any thing. Jn. 14:30
Now you are clean, by reason of the word which I have spoken to you. Jn. 15:3
I will not now call you servants: for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth. But I have called you friends, because all things, whatsoever I have heard of my Father, I have made known to you. Jn. 15:15
If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin: but now they have no excuse for their sin. Jn. 15:22
If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin: but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father. Jn. 15:24
And now I go to him that sent me, and none of you asketh me: Whither goest thou? Jn. 16:5
I have yet many things to say to you: but you cannot bear them now. Jn. 16:12
A little while, and now you shall not see me: and again a little while, and you shall see me: because I go to the Father. Jn. 16:16
So also you now indeed have sorrow: but I will see you again and your heart shall rejoice. And your joy no man shall take from you. Jn. 16:22
His disciples say to him: Behold, now thou speakest plainly and speakest no proverb. Jn. 16:29
Now we know that thou knowest all things and thou needest not that any man should ask thee. By this we believe that thou camest forth from God. Jn. 16:30
Jesus answered them: Do you now believe? Jn. 16:31
Behold, the hour cometh, and it is now come, that you shall be scattered every man to his own and shall leave me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. Jn. 16:32
Now this is eternal life: That they may know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Jn. 17:3
And now glorify thou me, O Father, with thyself, with the glory which I had, before the world was, with thee. Jn. 17:5
Now they have known that all things which thou hast given me are from thee: Jn. 17:7
And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou hast given me: that they may be one, as we also are. Jn. 17:11
And now I come to thee: and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy filled in themselves. Jn. 17:13
Now Caiphas was he who had given the counsel to the Jews: That it was expedient that one man should die for the people. Jn. 18:14
Now the servants and ministers stood at a fire of coals, because it was cold, and warmed themselves. And with them was Peter also, standing and warming himself. Jn. 18:18
Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would certainly strive that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now my kingdom is not from hence. Jn. 18:36
Then cried they all again, saying: Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber. Jn. 18:40
Now when Pilate had heard these words, he brought Jesus forth and sat down in the judgment seat, in the place that is called Lithostrotos, and in Hebrew Gabbatha. Jn. 19:13
The soldiers therefore, when they had crucified him, took his garments, (and they made four parts, to every soldier a part) and also his coat. Now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. Jn. 19:23
Now there stood by the cross of Jesus, his mother and his mother's sister, Mary of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalen. Jn. 19:25
Afterwards, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said: I thirst. Jn. 19:28
Now there was a vessel set there, full of vinegar. And they, putting a sponge full of vinegar and hyssop, put it to his mouth. Jn. 19:29
Now there was in the place where he was crucified a garden: and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein no man yet had been laid. Jn. 19:41
But Mary stood at the sepulchre without, weeping. Now as she was weeping, she stooped down and looked into the sepulchre, Jn. 20:11
Now when it was late the same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and said to them: Peace be to you. Jn. 20:19
Now Thomas, one of the twelve, who is called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. Jn. 20:24
He saith to them: Cast the net on the right side of the ship; and you shall find. They cast therefore: and now they were not able to draw it, for the multitude of fishes. Jn. 21:6
Jesus saith to them: Bring hither of the fishes which you have now caught. Jn. 21:10
This is now the third time that Jesus was manifested to his disciples, after he was risen from the dead. Jn. 21:14
In those days Peter rising up in the midst of the brethren, said (now the number of persons together was about an hundred and twenty): Acts 1:15
Now there were dwelling at Jerusalem, Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Acts 2:5

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants that with all confidence they may speak thy word, Acts 4:29
Now when the officer of the temple and the chief priests heard these words, they were in doubt concerning them, what would come to pass. Acts 5:24
And now, therefore, I say to you: Refrain from these men and let them alone. For if this council or this work be of men, it will come to nought: Acts 5:38

Now hearing these things, they were cut to the heart: and they gnashed with their teeth at him. Acts 7:54
Now there was a certain man named Simon who before had been a magician in that city, seducing the people of Samaria, giving out that he was some great one: Acts 8:9
Now, when the apostles, who were in Jerusalem, had heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John. Acts 8:14
Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying: Arise, go towards the south, to the way that goeth down from Jerusalem into Gaza: this is desert. Acts 8:26
Now the men who went in company with him stood amazed, hearing indeed a voice but seeing no man. Acts 9:7
Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision: Ananias. And he said: Behold I am here, Lord. Acts 9:10
Now, the church had peace throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria: and was edified, walking in the fear of the Lord: and was filled with the consolation of the Holy Ghost. Acts 9:31
And now send men to Joppe: and call hither one Simon, who is surnamed Peter. Acts 10:5
Now, whilst Peter was doubting within himself what the vision that he had seen should mean, behold the men who were sent from Cornelius, inquiring for Simon's house, stood at the gate. Acts 10:17
Immediately therefore I sent to thee: and thou hast done well in coming. Now, therefore, all we are present in thy sight to hear all things whatsoever are commanded thee by the Lord. Acts 10:33
Now they who had been dispersed by the persecution that arose on occasion of Stephen went about as far as Phenice and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none, but to the Jews only. Acts 11:19
And seeing that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to take up Peter also. Now it was in the days of the Azymes. Acts 12:3
And Peter coming to himself, said: Now I know in very deed that the Lord hath sent his angel and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews. Acts 12:11
Now when day was come, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter. Acts 12:18
¤ Now there were in the church which was at Antioch prophets and doctors, among whom was Barnabas and Simon who was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene and Manahen who was the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. Acts 13:1
And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee: and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a time. And immediately there fell a mist and darkness upon him: and going about, he sought some one to lead him by the hand. Acts 13:11
Now when Paul and they that were with him had sailed from Paphos, they came to Perge in Pamphylia. And John departing from them, returned to Jerusalem. Acts 13:13
And to shew that he raised him up from the dead, not to return now any more to corruption, he said thus: I will give you the holy things of David, faithful. Acts 13:34
Now there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium: and, persuading the multitude and stoning Paul, drew him out of the city, thinking him to be dead. Acts 14:19
Now therefore, why tempt you God to put a yoke upon the necks of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? Acts 15:10
And the keeper of the prison told these words to Paul: The magistrates have sent to let you go. Now therefore depart. And go in peace. Acts 16:36
But Paul said to them: They have beaten us publicly, uncondemned, men that are Romans, and have cast us into prison. And now do they thrust us out privately? Not so: but let them come. Acts 16:37
Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, who received the word with all eagerness, daily searching the scriptures, whether these things were so. Acts 17:11
Now whilst Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred within him, seeing the city wholly given to idolatry. Acts 17:16
(Now all the Athenians and strangers that were there employed themselves in nothing else, but either in telling or in hearing some new thing.) Acts 17:21
And God indeed having winked at the times of this ignorance, now declareth unto men that all should every where do penance. Acts 17:30
And because he was of the same trade, he remained with them and wrought. (Now they were tentmakers by trade.) Acts 18:3
Now a certain Jew, named Apollo, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus, one mighty in the scriptures. Acts 18:24
Now some also of the Jewish exorcists, who went about, attempted to invoke over them that had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying: I conjure you by Jesus, whom Paul preacheth. Acts 19:13

Now some cried one thing, some another. For the assembly was confused: and the greater part knew not for what cause they were come together. Acts 19:32

Now therefore do you with the council signify to the tribune, that he bring him forth to you, as if you meant to know something more certain touching him. And we, before he come near, are ready to kill him. Acts 23:15
But do not thou give credit to them: for there lie in wait for him more than forty men of them, who have bound themselves by oath neither to eat nor to drink, till they have killed him. And they are now ready, looking for a promise from thee. Acts 23:21
Neither can they prove unto thee the things whereof they now accuse me. Acts 24:13
Now after many years, I came to bring alms to my nation and offerings and vows. Acts 24:17
¤ Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days, he went up to Jerusalem from Caesarea. Acts 25:1
And now for the hope of the promise that was made by God to the fathers, do I stand subject to judgment: Acts 26:6
Delivering thee from the people and from the nations unto which now I send thee: Acts 26:17
And when much time was spent and when sailing now was dangerous, because the fast was now past, Paul comforted them, Acts 27:9
And when neither sun nor stars appeared for many days and no small storm lay on us, all hope of our being saved was now taken away. Acts 27:20
And now I exhort you to be of good cheer. For there shall be no loss of any man's life among you, but only of the ship. Acts 27:22
Now in these places were possessions of the chief man of the island, named Publius: who, receiving us for three days, entertained us courteously. Acts 28:7
Always in my prayers making request, if by any means now at length I may have a prosperous journey, by the will of God, to come unto you. Rom. 1:10
Now we know that what things soever the law speaketh, it speaketh to them that are in the law: that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may be made subject to God. Rom. 3:19
But now, without the law, the justice of God is made manifest, being witnessed by the law and the prophets. Rom. 3:21

Again a new commandment I write unto you: which thing is true both in him and in you, because the darkness is passed and the true light now shineth. 1 Jn. 2:8
He that saith he is in the light and hateth his brother is in darkness even until now. 1 Jn. 2:9

Now of these Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying: Behold, the Lord cometh with thousands of his saints: Jude 1:14

Then did Salmanasar lay the fundations of the house of our Lord, which is in Ierusalem: and from that time vntil now it is a building, and is not accomplished. 3 Esd. 6:20

Who answering sayd to me: These are they that haue laid of the mortal garment, and taken an immortal, and haue confessed the name of God. Now they are crowned, and receiue palmes. 4 Esd. 2:45
Now therfore wey our iniquities in a ballance, and theirs that dwel in the world: & thy name shal not be found, but in Israel. 4 Esd. 3:34
But now I haue not asked thee, sauing of the fire, and the winde, and the day by the which thou hast passed, and from the which thou canst not be separated: and thou hast not answered me of them. 4 Esd. 4:9
and how can thy vessel comprehend the way of the Highest, and now the world being outwardly corrupted, vnderstand the corruption euident in my sight: 4 Esd. 4:11
Because the grayne of il seede hath bene sowen in the hart of Adam from the beginning: and how much impietie hath it ingendered vntil now, and doth ingender vntil the floore come? 4 Esd. 4:30
And they shal put their foote into the countrie which now thou seest to reigne, and they shal see it desolate. 4 Esd. 5:3
These signes I am permitted to tel thee: and if thou pray againe and weepe, as also now, and fast seuen dayes, thou shalt heare againe greater thinges then these. 4 Esd. 5:13
And now Lord, why hast thou deliuered one vnto manie? And thou hast perpared vpon one roote others, and hast dispersed thy onlie one in manie: 4 Esd. 5:28
And I sayd: As thou didst say to thy seruant, that quickening thou didst quicken the creature created by thee at once, and the creature susteined it: it may now also beare them present at once. 4 Esd. 5:45
And I asked, and sayd: Wheras thou hast now geuen me a way, I wil speake before thee: for our mother, of whom thou toldest me, yet she is yong: now draweth nigh to old age. 4 Esd. 5:50
For thou shalt say to her: Why are not they whom thou hast brought forth, now like to them that were before thee, but lesse of stature? 4 Esd. 5:52
and they that are after you, of lesser then you, as it were creatures now waxing old, and past the strength of youth. 4 Esd. 5:55
and before the present yeares were searched out, and before their inuentions that now sinne, were put away, and they signed that made fayth their treasure: 4 Esd. 6:5
And now Lord, behold these nations which are reputed for nothing, haue begune to rule ouer vs, and to deuoure vs: 4 Esd. 6:57
Now therfore why art thou trubled, wheras thou art corruptible? and why art thou moued, wheras thou art mortal? 4 Esd. 7:15
Behold the time shal come, and it shal be when the signes shal come, which I haue foretold thee, and the bride shal appeare, and appearing she shal be shewed that now is hid with the earth: 4 Esd. 7:26
And I answered, I said even then, O Lord, and I say now: Blessed are they that be now alive and keep the statutes ordained of thee. 4 Esd. 7:45
And now I see, that the world to come shall bring delight to few, but torments unto many. 4 Esd. 7:47
So also is the judgement which I have promised: for I will rejoice over the few that shall be saved, inasmuch as these are they that have made my glory now to prevail, and of whom my name is now named. 4 Esd. 7:60
And I will not grieve over the multitude of them that perish; for these are they that are now like unto vapour, and are become as flame and smoke; they are set on fire and burn hotly, and are quenched. 4 Esd. 7:61
But now the mind groweth with us, and by reason of this we are tormented, because we perish and know it. 4 Esd. 7:64
And now understand from thine own words, for thou hast said that the mind groweth with us. 4 Esd. 7:71
And I answered and said, If I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, shew this also unto thy servant, whether after death, even now when every one of us giveth up his soul, we shall be kept in rest until those times come, in which thou shalt renew the creation, of whether we shall be tormented forthwith. 4 Esd. 7:75
The second way, because they cannot now make a good returning that they may live. 4 Esd. 7:82
Now this is the order of those who have kept the ways of the Most High, when they shall be separated from the corruptible vessel. 4 Esd. 7:88
The fourth order, they understand the rest which, being gathered in their chambers, they now enjoy with great quietness, guarded by angels, and the glory that awaiteth them in the last days. 4 Esd. 7:95
The fifth order, they rejoice, seeing how they have now escaped from that which is corruptible, and how they shall inherit that which is to come, while they see moreover the straitness and the painfulness from which they have been delivered, and the large room which they shall receive with joy and immortality. 4 Esd. 7:96
And he answered me, and said, Since thou hast found favour in my sight, I will shew thee this also: The day of judgement is a day of decision, and displayeth unto all the seal of truth; even as now a father sendeth not his son, or a son his father, or a master his slave, or a friend him that is most dear, that in his stead he may be sick, or sleep, or eat, or be healed: 4 Esd. 7:104
If therfore now when corruptible did increase, and iniustice was multiplied, and the iust prayed for the impious: why now also shal it not be so? 4 Esd. 7:111
and sayd: This is my word the first and the last, that it had bene better not to geue the earth to Adam, or when he had now geuen it, to restraine him that he should not sinne. 4 Esd. 7:116
and as now the bodie made in the matrice, and thou doest geue the members, thy creature is preserued in fire & water: and nine monethes thy workemanship doth suffer thy creature that is created in it: 4 Esd. 8:8
And now Lord I wil speake, of euerie man thou rather knowest: but concerning thy people, for which I am sorowful: 4 Esd. 8:15
Wherfore my iudgement now approcheth. 4 Esd. 8:61
Behold now Lord thou hast shewed me a multitude of signes, which thou wilt beginne to doe in the latter times: but thou hast not shewed me at what time. 4 Esd. 8:63
And then shal they be in miserie, that now haue abused my wayes: and they that haue reiected them in contempt, shal abide in torments. 4 Esd. 9:9
I haue spoken hertofore, and now I say, and hereafter wil say: that they are more which perish then that shal be saued: (Matt. 10) 4 Esd. 9:15
And now when I was preparing for them, for these that now are before the world was made, wherin they should dwel: and no man gaynsayd me. 4 Esd. 9:18
For then euery man, and now the creator in this world prepared, and haruest not fayling, and law vnsearchable their manners are corrupted. 4 Esd. 9:19
that which was sowne, or cast in, or the thinges that were receiued, are destroyed withal, and the thinges receiued now tarye not with vs: but it is not so done to vs. 4 Esd. 9:35
And now wheras we al mourne, and are sadde: wheras we are sorrowful, and art thou sorrowful for one sonne? 4 Esd. 10:8
Now therfore kepe in with thy sorrowe, and beare stoutly the chances that haue befallen thee. 4 Esd. 10:15
Now therfore I besech thee, that thou shew vnto thy seruant concerning this trance. And he answered me, & sayd: 4 Esd. 10:37
And now thou seest not the forme of the woman, but there appeared to thee a citie to be built. 4 Esd. 10:42
This woman which thou sawest, she is Sion, and wheras she told thee of her, whom now also thou shalt see, as a citie builded. 4 Esd. 10:44
And now the Highest seeth that thou wast sorie from the hart: and because with thy whole hart thou sufferest for her, he hath shewed thee the clearnes of her glorie, and the fayrenes of her beautie. 4 Esd. 10:50
Now therfore I wil pray the Highest, that he strengthen me euen to the end. 4 Esd. 12:6
But it was not interpreted to him, therfore I do now interprete it to thee. 4 Esd. 12:12
And now goe euery one of you into his house, and I wil come to you after these dayes. 4 Esd. 12:49
And now shew me yet the interpretation of this dreame. 4 Esd. 13:15
I vnderstand now what thinges are layde vp in the later dayes, and they shal happen to them, yea and to them that are leaft. 4 Esd. 13:18
Then did they inhabite there til in the later time: and now againe when they beginne to come, 4 Esd. 13:46

Now therefore dispose thy house, and correct thy people, & comfort the humble of them, & forsake now corruption, 4 Esd. 14:13
and put from thee mortal cogitations, and cast from thee humane burdens, and doe from thee now infirme nature, & lay at one side cogitations most trublesome to thee, & make speedie transmigration from these times, 4 Esd. 14:14
for the euiles which thou hast sene to haue chanced now, worse then these wil they doe againe: (Matt. 24/ 1 John 2) 4 Esd. 14:15
For truth hath remoued it self farther of, and lying hath approched, for now the vision which thou sawest, hasteneth to come. 4 Esd. 14:17
For behold I wil goe, as thou hast commanded me, & wil rebuke the people that now is. But them that shal yet be born, who shal admonish? 4 Esd. 14:19
And now you are here, and your brethren are among you. 4 Esd. 14:33
Let no man therfore come to me now, nor aske for me vntil fourtie dayes. 4 Esd. 14:36
I wil not now kepe silence of their impieties which they doe irreligiously, neither wil I beare with those thinges, which they practise vniustly. Behold the innocent & iust bloud crieth to me, & the soules of the iust crie continually. 4 Esd. 15:8
For now are euils come vpon the world, and you shal tarrie in them. For God wil not deliuer you, because you haue sinned against him. 4 Esd. 15:27
And the nations of dragons of Arabians shal come forth in manie chariots, & as a winde the number of them is caried vpon the earth, so that now al doe feare and tremble, that shal heare them. 4 Esd. 15:29
Behold God is the Iudge, feare him. Cease from your sinnes, and now forget your iniquities to doe them anie more, & God wil bring you out, and deliuer you from al tribulation. 4 Esd. 16:68
