- Lo, I am bringing against you a nation from afar, O house of Israel, an affirmation of Jehovah, A nation -- strong it is, a nation -- from of old it is, A nation -- thou knowest not its tongue, Nor understandest what it speaketh. Jer. 5:15
- And it hath come to pass, when ye say, `For what hath Jehovah our God done to us all these?' That thou hast said unto them, `As ye have forsaken Me, And serve the gods of a foreigner in your land, So do ye serve strangers in a land not yours. Jer. 5:19
- The prophets have prophesied falsely, And the priests bear rule by their means, And My people have loved it so, And what do they at its latter end? Jer. 5:31
- Art thou not seeing what they are doing In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem? Jer. 7:17

- Ashamed have been the wise, They have been affrighted, and are captured, Lo, against a word of Jehovah they kicked, And the wisdom of what -- have they? Jer. 8:9
- Who is the wise man? and he understandeth this, And he to whom the mouth of Jehovah spake? And he doth declare it, For what hath the land perished? It hath been burnt up as a wilderness, Without any passing through. Jer. 9:12
- What -- to My beloved in My house, Her doing wickedness with many, And the holy flesh do pass over from thee? When thou dost evil, then thou exultest. Jer. 11:15
- What dost thou say, when He looketh after thee? And thou -- thou hast taught them to be over thee -- leaders for head? Do not pangs seize thee as a travailing woman? Jer. 13:21

- On the way stand, and watch, O inhabitant of Aroer, Ask the fugitive and escaped, Say, What hath happened? Jer. 48:19
- What -- dost thou boast thyself in valleys? Flowed hath thy valley, O backsliding daughter, Who is trusting in her treasures: Who doth come in unto me? Jer. 49:4
- What do I testify to thee, what do I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? What do I equal to thee, and I comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? For great as a sea is thy breach, Who doth give healing to thee? Lam. 2:13
- What -- sigh habitually doth a living man, A man for his sin? Lam. 3:39

- `Son of man, What is the vine-tree more than any tree? The vine-branch that hath been, Among trees of the forest? Ezek. 15:2

- and thou hast said: What is thy mother? -- a lioness, Among lions she hath crouched down, In the midst of young lions she hath multiplied her whelps. Ezek. 19:2

- With what do I come before Jehovah? Do I bow to God Most High? Do I come before Him with burnt-offerings? With calves -- sons of a year? Mic. 6:6
- He hath declared to thee, O man, what is good; Yea, what is Jehovah requiring of thee, Except -- to do judgment, and love kindness, And lowly to walk with thy God? Mic. 6:8
- What do we devise against Jehovah? An end He is making, arise not twice doth distress. Nah. 1:9
- On my charge I stand, and I station myself on a bulwark, and I watch to see what He doth speak against me, and what I do reply to my reproof. Hab. 2:1
- Do not these -- all of them -- against him a simile taken up, And a moral of acute sayings for him, And say, Wo to him who is multiplying what is not his? Till when also is he multiplying to himself heavy pledges? Hab. 2:6
- What profit hath a graven image given That its former hath graven it? A molten image and teacher of falsehood, That trusted hath the former on his own formation -- to make dumb idols? Hab. 2:18
- And I proclaim draught on the land, And on the mountains, and on the corn, And on the new wine, and on the oil, And on what the ground doth bring forth, And on man, and on beast, And on all labour of the hands.' Hag. 1:11

- And He did not make one only, And He hath the remnant of the Spirit. And what is the one alone! He is seeking a godly seed. And ye have been watchful over your spirit, And with the wife of thy youth, None doth deal treacherously. Mal. 2:15
- Ye have wearied Jehovah with your words, And ye have said: `In what have we wearied Him?' In your saying: `Every evil-doer is good in the eyes of Jehovah, And in them He is delighting,' Or, `Where is the God of judgment?' Mal. 2:17

- Doth man deceive God? but ye are deceiving Me, And ye have said: `In what have we deceived Thee?' The tithe and the heave-offering! Mal. 3:8

- `Ye are the salt of the land, but if the salt may lose savour, in what shall it be salted? for nothing is it good henceforth, except to be cast without, and to be trodden down by men. Mt. 5:13
- `For, if ye may love those loving you, what reward have ye? do not also the tax-gatherers the same? Mt. 5:46
- and if ye may salute your brethren only, what do ye abundant? do not also the tax-gatherers so? Mt. 5:47

- `And what think ye? A man had two children, and having come to the first, he said, Child, go, to-day be working in my vineyard.' Mt. 21:28
- whenever therefore the lord of the vineyard may come, what will he do to these husbandmen?' Mt. 21:40
- tell us, therefore, what dost thou think? is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not?' Mt. 22:17
- saying, `What do ye think concerning the Christ? of whom is he son?' They say to him, `Of David.' Mt. 22:42
- And when he is sitting on the mount of the Olives, the disciples came near to him by himself, saying, `Tell us, when shall these be? and what is the sign of thy presence, and of the full end of the age?' Mt. 24:3
- `Watch ye therefore, because ye have not known in what hour your Lord doth come; Mt. 24:42
- and this know, that if the master of the house had known in what watch the thief doth come, he had watched, and not suffered his house to be broken through; Mt. 24:43
- because of this also ye, become ye ready, because in what hour ye do not think, the Son of Man doth come. Mt. 24:44
- And having seen it, his disciples were much displeased, saying, `To what purpose is this waste? Mt. 26:8
- Verily I say to you, Wherever this good news may be proclaimed in the whole world, what this one did shall also be spoken of -- for a memorial of her.' Mt. 26:13
- said, `What are ye willing to give me, and I will deliver him up to you?' and they weighed out to him thirty silverlings, Mt. 26:15
- and Jesus said to him, `Comrade, for what art thou present?' Then having come near, they laid hands on Jesus, and took hold on him. Mt. 26:50
- And the chief priest having stood up, said to him, `Nothing thou dost answer! what do these witness against thee? Mt. 26:62
- Then the chief priest rent his garments, saying, -- `He hath spoken evil; what need have we yet of witnesses? lo, now ye heard his evil speaking; Mt. 26:65
- what think ye?' and they answering said, `He is worthy of death.' Mt. 26:66
- And he denied before all, saying, `I have not known what thou sayest.' Mt. 26:70
- `I did sin, having delivered up innocent blood;' and they said, `What -- to us? thou shalt see!' Mt. 27:4
- Pilate saith to them, `What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?' They all say to him, `Let be crucified!' Mt. 27:22
- And the governor said, `Why, what evil did he?' and they were crying out the more, saying, `Let be crucified.' Mt. 27:23
- saying, `Away! what -- to us and to thee, Jesus the Nazarene? thou didst come to destroy us; I have known thee who thou art -- the Holy One of God.' Mk. 1:24
- and they were all amazed, so as to reason among themselves, saying, `What is this? what new teaching is this? that with authority also the unclean spirits he commandeth, and they obey him!' Mk. 1:27
- And he said to them, `Did ye never read what David did, when he had need and was hungry, he and those with him? Mk. 2:25
- And he said to them, `Take heed what ye hear; in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you; and to you who hear it shall be added; Mk. 4:24
- And he said, `To what may we liken the reign of God, or in what simile may we compare it? Mk. 4:30
- and having called with a loud voice, he said, `What -- to me and to thee, Jesus, Son of God the Most High? I adjure thee by God, mayest thou not afflict me!' Mk. 5:7
- and he was questioning him, `What is thy name?' and he answered, saying, `Legion is my name, because we are many;' Mk. 5:9
- And those feeding the swine did flee, and told in the city, and in the fields, and they came forth to see what it is that hath been done; Mk. 5:14
- and the woman, having been afraid, and trembling, knowing what was done on her, came, and fell down before him, and told him all the truth, Mk. 5:33
- and sabbath having come, he began in the synagogue to teach, and many hearing were astonished, saying, `Whence hath this one these things? and what the wisdom that was given to him, that also such mighty works through his hands are done? Mk. 6:2
- And she, having gone forth, said to her mother, `What shall I ask for myself?' and she said, `The head of John the Baptist;' Mk. 6:24
- let them away, that, having gone away to the surrounding fields and villages, they may buy to themselves loaves, for what they may eat they have not.' Mk. 6:36
- In those days the multitude being very great, and not having what they may eat, Jesus having called near his disciples, saith to them, Mk. 8:1
- `I have compassion upon the multitude, because now three days they do continue with me, and they have not what they may eat; Mk. 8:2
- for what shall it profit a man, if he may gain the whole world, and forfeit his life? Mk. 8:36
- Or what shall a man give as an exchange for his life? Mk. 8:37
- for he was not knowing what he might say, for they were greatly afraid. Mk. 9:6
- and the thing they kept to themselves, questioning together what the rising out of the dead is. Mk. 9:10
- But I say to you, That also Elijah hath come, and they did to him what they willed, as it hath been written of him.' Mk. 9:13
- And he questioned the scribes, `What dispute ye with them?' Mk. 9:16
- And he came to Capernaum, and being in the house, he was questioning them, `What were ye reasoning in the way among yourselves?' Mk. 9:33
- The salt is good, but if the salt may become saltless, in what will ye season it? Have in yourselves salt, and have peace in one another.' Mk. 9:50
- and he answering said to them, `What did Moses command you?' Mk. 10:3
- what therefore God did join together, let not man put asunder.' Mk. 10:9
- And as he is going forth into the way, one having run and having kneeled to him, was questioning him, `Good teacher, what may I do, that life age-during I may inherit?' Mk. 10:17
- and he said to them, `What do ye wish me to do for you?' Mk. 10:36
- and Jesus said to them, `Ye have not known what ye ask; are ye able to drink of the cup that I drink of, and with the baptism that I am baptized with -- to be baptized?' Mk. 10:38
- And answering, Jesus saith to him, `What wilt thou I may do to thee?' and the blind man said to him, `Rabboni, that I may see again;' Mk. 10:51
- and certain of those standing there said to them, `What do ye -- loosing the colt?' Mk. 11:5
- and they say to him, `By what authority dost thou these things? and who gave thee this authority that these things thou mayest do?' Mk. 11:28
- And Jesus answering said to them, `I will question you -- I also -- one word; and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things; Mk. 11:29
- and answering they say to Jesus, `We have not known;' and Jesus answering saith to them, `Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.' Mk. 11:33
- `What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard to others. Mk. 12:9
- And as he is going forth out of the temple, one of his disciples saith to him, `Teacher, see! what stones! and what buildings!' Mk. 13:1
- `Tell us when these things shall be? and what is the sign when all these may be about to be fulfilled?' Mk. 13:4
- `And when they may lead you, delivering up, be not anxious beforehand what ye may speak, nor premeditate, but whatever may be given to you in that hour, that speak ye, for it is not ye who are speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Mk. 13:11
- and what I say to you, I say to all, Watch.' Mk. 13:37
- and there were certain much displeased within themselves, and saying, `For what hath this waste of the ointment been made? Mk. 14:4
- what she could she did, she anticipated to anoint my body for the embalming. Mk. 14:8
- Verily I say to you, wherever this good news may be proclaimed in the whole world, what also this woman did shall be spoken of -- for a memorial of her.' Mk. 14:9
- and he said, `Abba, Father; all things are possible to Thee; make this cup pass from me; but, not what I will, but what Thou.' Mk. 14:36
- and having returned, he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy, and they had not known what they might answer him. Mk. 14:40
- And the chief priest, having risen up in the midst, questioned Jesus, saying, `Thou dost not answer anything! what do these testify against thee?' Mk. 14:60
- And the chief priest, having rent his garments, saith, `What need have we yet of witnesses? Mk. 14:63
- Ye heard the evil speaking, what appeareth to you?' and they all condemned him to be worthy of death, Mk. 14:64
- and he denied, saying, `I have not known him, neither do I understand what thou sayest;' and he went forth without to the porch, and a cock crew. Mk. 14:68
- And Pilate answering, again said to them, `What, then, will ye that I shall do to him whom ye call king of the Jews?' Mk. 15:12
- And Pilate said to them, `Why -- what evil did he?' and they cried out the more vehemently, `Crucify him;' Mk. 15:14
- And having crucified him, they were dividing his garments, casting a lot upon them, what each may take; Mk. 15:24
- and she, having seen, was troubled at his word, and was reasoning of what kind this salutation may be. Lk. 1:29
- and they were making signs to his father, what he would wish him to be called, Lk. 1:62
- and all who heard did lay them up in their hearts, saying, `What then shall this child be?' and the hand of the Lord was with him. Lk. 1:66
- And the multitudes were questioning him, saying, `What, then, shall we do?' Lk. 3:10
- And there came also tax-gatherers to be baptised, and they said unto him, `Teacher, what shall we do?' Lk. 3:12
- And questioning him also were those warring, saying, `And we, what shall we do?' and he said unto them, `Do violence to no one, nor accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.' Lk. 3:14
- saying, `Away, what -- to us and to thee, Jesus, O Nazarene? thou didst come to destroy us; I have known thee who thou art -- the Holy One of God.' Lk. 4:34
- and amazement came upon all, and they were speaking together, with one another, saying, `What is this word, that with authority and power he doth command the unclean spirits, and they come forth?' Lk. 4:36
- and not having found by what way they may bring him in because of the multitude, having gone up on the house-top, through the tiles they let him down, with the little couch, into the midst before Jesus, Lk. 5:19
- And Jesus having known their reasonings, answering, said unto them, `What reason ye in your hearts? Lk. 5:22
- and they were filled with madness, and were speaking with one another what they might do to Jesus. Lk. 6:11
- and -- if ye love those loving you, what grace have ye? for also the sinful love those loving them; Lk. 6:32
- and if ye do good to those doing good to you, what grace have ye? for also the sinful do the same; Lk. 6:33
- and if ye lend to those of whom ye hope to receive back, what grace have ye? for also the sinful lend to sinners -- that they may receive again as much. Lk. 6:34
- `And why do ye call me, Lord, Lord, and do not what I say? Lk. 6:46
- And Jesus answering said to them, `Having gone on, report to John what ye saw and heard, that blind men do see again, lame do walk, lepers are cleansed, deaf do hear, dead are raised, poor have good news proclaimed; Lk. 7:22
- And the messengers of John having gone away, he began to say unto the multitudes concerning John: `What have ye gone forth to the wilderness to look on? a reed by the wind shaken? Lk. 7:24
- but what have ye gone forth to see? a man in soft garments clothed? lo, they in splendid apparellings, and living in luxury, are in the houses of kings! Lk. 7:25
- `But what have ye gone forth to see? a prophet? Yes, I say to you, and much more than a prophet: Lk. 7:26
- And the Lord said, `To what, then, shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like? Lk. 7:31
- And the Pharisee who did call him, having seen, spake within himself, saying, `This one, if he were a prophet, would have known who and of what kind is the woman who doth touch him, that she is a sinner.' Lk. 7:39
- a kiss to me thou didst not give, but this woman, from what time I came in, did not cease kissing my feet; Lk. 7:45
- And his disciples were questioning him, saying, `What may this simile be?' Lk. 8:9
- `See, therefore, how ye hear, for whoever may have, there shall be given to him, and whoever may not have, also what he seemeth to have, shall be taken from him.' Lk. 8:18
- and having seen Jesus, and having cried out, he fell before him, and with a loud voice, said, `What -- to me and to thee, Jesus, Son of God Most High? I beseech thee, mayest thou not afflict me!' Lk. 8:28
- And Jesus questioned him, saying, `What is thy name?' and he said, `Legion,' (because many demons were entered into him,) Lk. 8:30
- And those feeding them, having seen what was come to pass, fled, and having gone, told it to the city, and to the fields; Lk. 8:34
- and they came forth to see what was come to pass, and they came unto Jesus, and found the man sitting, out of whom the demons had gone forth, clothed, and right-minded, at the feet of Jesus, and they were afraid; Lk. 8:35
- And the woman, having seen that she was not hid, trembling, came, and having fallen before him, for what cause she touched him declared to him before all the people, and how she was healed presently; Lk. 8:47
- and her parents were amazed, but he charged them to say to no one what was come to pass. Lk. 8:56
- and they did eat, and were all filled, and there was taken up what was over to them of broken pieces, twelve baskets. Lk. 9:17
- for what is a man profited, having gained the whole world, and having lost or having forfeited himself? Lk. 9:25
- And it came to pass, in their parting from him, Peter said unto Jesus, `Master, it is good to us to be here; and we may make three booths, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah,' not knowing what he saith: Lk. 9:33
- and when the voice was past, Jesus was found alone; and they were silent, and declared to no one in those days anything of what they have seen. Lk. 9:36
- and having turned, he rebuked them, and said, `Ye have not known of what spirit ye are; Lk. 9:55
- And having turned unto the disciples, he said, by themselves, `Happy the eyes that are perceiving what ye perceive; Lk. 10:23
- for I say to you, that many prophets and kings did wish to see what ye perceive, and did not see, and to hear what ye hear, and did not hear.' Lk. 10:24
- And lo, a certain lawyer stood up, trying him, and saying, `Teacher, what having done, life age-during shall I inherit?' Lk. 10:25
- And he said unto him, `In the law what hath been written? how dost thou read?' Lk. 10:26
- seeing a friend of mine came out of the way unto me, and I have not what I shall set before him, Lk. 11:6
- But what ye have give ye as alms, and, lo, all things are clean to you. Lk. 11:41
- because whatever in the darkness ye said, in the light shall be heard: and what to the ear ye spake in the inner-chambers, shall be proclaimed upon the house-tops. Lk. 12:3
- `And when they bring you before the synagogues, and the rulers, and the authorities, be not anxious how or what ye may reply, or what ye may say, Lk. 12:11
- for the Holy Spirit shall teach you in that hour what it behoveth you to say.' Lk. 12:12
- and he was reasoning within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have not where I shall gather together my fruits? Lk. 12:17
- `And God said to him, Unthinking one! this night thy soul they shall require from thee, and what things thou didst prepare -- to whom shall they be? Lk. 12:20
- And he said unto his disciples, `Because of this, to you I say, Be not anxious for your life, what ye may eat; nor for the body, what ye may put on; Lk. 12:22
- `And ye -- seek not what ye may eat, or what ye may drink, and be not in suspense, Lk. 12:29
- `And this know, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief doth come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken through; Lk. 12:39
- `Fire I came to cast to the earth, and what will I if already it was kindled? Lk. 12:49
- `And why, also, of yourselves, judge ye not what is righteous? Lk. 12:57
- And he said, `To what is the reign of God like? and to what shall I liken it? Lk. 13:18
- And again he said, `To what shall I liken the reign of God? Lk. 13:20
- `Or what king going on to engage with another king in war, doth not, having sat down, first consult if he be able with ten thousand to meet him who with twenty thousand is coming against him? Lk. 14:31

- `What man of you having a hundred sheep, and having lost one out of them, doth not leave behind the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go on after the lost one, till he may find it? Lk. 15:4
- `Or what woman having ten drachms, if she may lose one drachm, doth not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and seek carefully till that she may find? Lk. 15:8
- and having called near one of the young men, he was inquiring what these things might be, Lk. 15:26
- and having called him, he said to him, What is this I hear about thee? render the account of thy stewardship, for thou mayest not any longer be steward. Lk. 16:2
- `And the steward said in himself, What shall I do, because my lord doth take away the stewardship from me? to dig I am not able, to beg I am ashamed: -- Lk. 16:3
- I have known what I shall do, that, when I may be removed from the stewardship, they may receive me to their houses. Lk. 16:4
- but will not rather say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and having girded thyself about, minister to me, till I eat and drink, and after these things thou shalt eat and drink? Lk. 17:8
- And the Lord said, `Hear ye what the unrighteous judge saith: Lk. 18:6
- And a certain ruler questioned him, saying, `Good teacher, what having done -- shall I inherit life age-during?' Lk. 18:18
- and having heard a multitude going by, he was inquiring what this may be, Lk. 18:36
- saying, `What wilt thou I shall do to thee?' and he said, `Sir, that I may receive sight.' Lk. 18:41
- `And it came to pass, on his coming back, having taken the kingdom, that he commanded these servants to be called to him, to whom he gave the money, that he might know what any one had done in business. Lk. 19:15
- for I was afraid of thee, because thou art an austere man; thou takest up what thou didst not lay down, and reapest what thou didst not sow. Lk. 19:21
- `And he saith to him, Out of thy mouth I will judge thee, evil servant: thou knewest that I am an austere man, taking up what I did not lay down, and reaping what I did not sow! Lk. 19:22
- for I say to you, that to every one having shall be given, and from him not having, also what he hath shall be taken from him, Lk. 19:26
- and they were not finding what they shall do, for all the people were hanging on him, hearing him. Lk. 19:48
- and spake unto him, saying, `Tell us by what authority thou dost these things? or who is he that gave to thee this authority?' Lk. 20:2
- and Jesus said to them, `Neither do I say to you by what authority I do these things.' Lk. 20:8
- `And the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my son -- the beloved, perhaps having seen this one, they will do reverence; Lk. 20:13
- and having cast him outside of the vineyard, they killed him; what, then, shall the owner of the vineyard do to them? Lk. 20:15
- and he, having looked upon them, said, `What, then, is this that hath been written: A stone that the builders rejected -- this became head of a corner? Lk. 20:17
- And they questioned him, saying, `Teacher, when, then, shall these things be? and what is the sign when these things may be about to happen?' Lk. 21:7
- and indeed the Son of Man doth go according to what hath been determined; but wo to that man through whom he is being delivered up.' Lk. 22:22
- And those about him, having seen what was about to be, said to him, `Sir, shall we smite with a sword?' Lk. 22:49
- and Peter said, `Man, I have not known what thou sayest;' and presently, while he is speaking, a cock crew. Lk. 22:60

- And he a third time said unto them, `Why, what evil did he? no cause of death did I find in him; having chastised him, then, I will release him.' Lk. 23:22

- And Jesus said, `Father, forgive them, for they have not known what they do;' and parting his garments they cast a lot. Lk. 23:34
- and we indeed righteously, for things worthy of what we did we receive back, but this one did nothing out of place;' Lk. 23:41
- And the centurion having seen what was done, did glorify God, saying, `Really this man was righteous;' Lk. 23:47
- and he said unto them, `What are these words that ye exchange with one another, walking, and ye are sad?' Lk. 24:17
- And he said to them, `What things?' And they said to him, `The things about Jesus of Nazareth, who became a man -- a prophet -- powerful in deed and word, before God and all the people, Lk. 24:19

- the Jews then answered and said to him, `What sign dost thou shew to us -- that thou dost these things?' Jn. 2:18
- and because he had no need that any should testify concerning man, for he himself was knowing what was in man. Jn. 2:25
- `Verily, verily, I say to thee -- What we have known we speak, and what we have seen we testify, and our testimony ye do not receive; Jn. 3:11

- They said to the blind man again, `Thou -- what dost thou say of him -- that he opened thine eyes?' and he said -- `He is a prophet.' Jn. 9:17
- And they said to him again, `What did he to thee? how did he open thine eyes?' Jn. 9:26
- This similitude spake Jesus to them, and they knew not what the things were that he was speaking to them; Jn. 10:6

- they were seeking, therefore, Jesus, and said one with another, standing in the temple, `What doth appear to you -- that he may not come to the feast?' Jn. 11:56
- and he said this, not because he was caring for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and what things were put in he was carrying. Jn. 12:6
- `Now hath my soul been troubled, and what? shall I say -- Father, save me from this hour? -- but because of this I came to this hour; Jn. 12:27
- And this he said signifying by what death he was about to die; Jn. 12:33
- because I spake not from myself, but the Father who sent me, He did give me a command, what I may say, and what I may speak, Jn. 12:49
- and I have known that His command is life age-during; what, therefore, I speak, according as the Father hath said to me, so I speak.' Jn. 12:50
- When, therefore, he washed their feet, and took his garments, having reclined (at meat) again, he said to them, `Do ye know what I have done to you? Jn. 13:12
- And after the morsel, then the Adversary entered into that one, Jesus, therefore, saith to him, `What thou dost -- do quickly;' Jn. 13:27
- and none of those reclining at meat knew for what intent he said this to him, Jn. 13:28
- for certain were thinking, since Judas had the bag, that Jesus saith to him, `Buy what we have need of for the feast;' or that he may give something to the poor; Jn. 13:29
- Judas saith to him, (not the Iscariot), `Sir, what hath come to pass, that to us thou are about to manifest thyself, and not to the world?' Jn. 14:22
- no more do I call you servants, because the servant hath not known what his lord doth, and you I have called friends, because all things that I heard from my Father, I did make known to you. Jn. 15:15
- Therefore said some of his disciples one to another, `What is this that he saith to us, A little while, and ye do not behold me, and again a little while, and ye shall see me, and, Because I go away unto the Father?' Jn. 16:17
- they said then, `What is this he saith -- the little while? we have not known what he saith.' Jn. 16:18
- why me dost thou question? question those having heard what I spake to them; lo, these have known what I said.' Jn. 18:21
- Pilate, therefore, went forth unto them, and said, `What accusation do ye bring against this man?' Jn. 18:29
- that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled which he said, signifying by what death he was about to die. Jn. 18:32
- Pilate answered, `Am I a Jew? thy nation, and the chief priests did deliver thee up to me; what didst thou?' Jn. 18:35
- Pilate saith to him, `What is truth?' and this having said, again he went forth unto the Jews, and saith to them, `I do find no fault in him; Jn. 18:38
- Pilate answered, `What I have written, I have written.' Jn. 19:22
- and this he said, signifying by what death he shall glorify God; and having said this, he saith to him, `Be following me.' Jn. 21:19
- Peter having seen this one, saith to Jesus, `Lord, and what of this one?' Jn. 21:21
- Jesus saith to him, `If him I will to remain till I come, what -- to thee? be thou following me.' Jn. 21:22
- This word, therefore, went forth to the brethren that that disciple doth not die, yet Jesus did not say to him, that he doth not die, but, `If him I will to remain till I come, what -- to thee?' Jn. 21:23
- who also said, `Men, Galileans, why do ye stand gazing into the heaven? this Jesus who was received up from you into the heaven, shall so come in what manner ye saw him going on to the heaven.' Acts 1:11

- and Philip having run near, heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, `Dost thou then know what thou dost read?' Acts 8:30
- And as they were going on the way, they came upon a certain water, and the eunuch said, `Lo, water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?' Acts 8:36
- trembling also, and astonished, he said, `Lord, what dost thou wish me to do?' and the Lord said unto him, `Arise, and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what it behoveth thee to do.' Acts 9:6
- and he having looked earnestly on him, and becoming afraid, said, `What is it, Lord?' And he said to him, `Thy prayers and thy kind acts came up for a memorial before God, Acts 10:4
- this one doth lodge with a certain Simon a tanner, whose house is by the sea; this one shall speak to thee what it behoveth thee to do.' Acts 10:6
- and there is a voice again a second time unto him: `What God did cleanse, thou, declare not thou common;' Acts 10:15
- And as Peter was perplexed in himself what the vision that he saw might be, then, lo, the men who have been sent from Cornelius, having made inquiry for the house of Simon, stood at the gate, Acts 10:17
- and Peter having come down unto the men who have been sent from Cornelius unto him, said, `Lo, I am he whom ye seek, what is the cause for which ye are present?' Acts 10:21
- therefore also without gainsaying I came, having been sent for; I ask, therefore, for what matter ye did send for me?' Acts 10:29
- and a voice did answer me a second time out of the heaven, What God did cleanse, thou -- declare not thou common. Acts 11:9

- for certain strange things thou dost bring to our ears? we wish, then, to know what these things would wish to be;' Acts 17:20
- and he said unto them, `To what, then, were ye baptized?' and they said, `To John's baptism.' Acts 19:3
- Some indeed, therefore, were calling out one thing, and some another, for the assembly was confused, and the greater part did not know for what they were come together; Acts 19:32
- how nothing I did keep back of what things are profitable, not to declare to you, and to teach you publicly, and in every house, Acts 20:20

- what then is it? certainly the multitude it behoveth to come together, for they will hear that thou hast come. Acts 21:22
- Then the chief captain, having come nigh, took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains, and was inquiring who he may be, and what it is he hath been doing, Acts 21:33
- and I said, What shall I do, Lord? and the Lord said unto me, Having risen, go on to Damascus, and there it shall be told thee concerning all things that have been appointed for thee to do. Acts 22:10

- What, then, is the superiority of the Jew? or what the profit of the circumcision? Rom. 3:1
- for what, if certain were faithless? shall their faithlessness the faithfulness of god make useless? Rom. 3:3
- And, if our unrighteousness God's righteousness doth establish, what shall we say? is God unrighteous who is inflicting the wrath? (after the manner of a man I speak) Rom. 3:5
- What, then? are we better? not at all! for we did before charge both Jews and Greeks with being all under sin, Rom. 3:9
- Where then is the boasting? it was excluded; by what law? of works? no, but by a law of faith: Rom. 3:27
- What, then, shall we say Abraham our father, to have found, according to flesh? Rom. 4:1
- for what doth the writing say? `And Abraham did believe God, and it was reckoned to him -- to righteousness;' Rom. 4:3
- and having been fully persuaded that what He hath promised He is able also to do: Rom. 4:21
- What, then, shall we say? shall we continue in the sin that the grace may abound? Rom. 6:1
- What then? shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? let it not be! Rom. 6:15

- And if what I do not will, this I do, I consent to the law that it is good, Rom. 7:16
- And if what I do not will, this I do, it is no longer I that work it, but the sin that is dwelling in me. Rom. 7:20
- I find, then, the law, that when I desire to do what is right, with me the evil is present, Rom. 7:21
- for what the law was not able to do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, His own Son having sent in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, did condemn the sin in the flesh, Rom. 8:3
- for in hope we were saved, and hope beheld is not hope; for what any one doth behold, why also doth he hope for it? Rom. 8:24
- and if what we do not behold we hope for, through continuance we expect it. Rom. 8:25
- And, in like manner also, the Spirit doth help our weaknesses; for, what we may pray for, as it behoveth us, we have not known, but the Spirit himself doth make intercession for us with groanings unutterable, Rom. 8:26
- and He who is searching the hearts hath known what is the mind of the Spirit, because according to God he doth intercede for saints. Rom. 8:27
- What, then, shall we say unto these things? if God is for us, who is against us? Rom. 8:31
- What, then, shall we say? unrighteousness is with God? let it not be! Rom. 9:14
- as also in Hosea He saith, `I will call what is not My people -- My people; and her not beloved -- Beloved, Rom. 9:25
- What, then, shall we say? that nations who are not pursuing righteousness did attain to righteousness, and righteousness that is of faith, Rom. 9:30
- But what doth it say? `Nigh thee is the saying -- in thy mouth, and in thy heart:' that is, the saying of the faith, that we preach; Rom. 10:8
- God did not cast away His people whom He knew before; have ye not known -- in Elijah -- what the Writing saith? how he doth plead with God concerning Israel, saying, Rom. 11:2
- but what saith the divine answer to him? `I left to Myself seven thousand men, who did not bow a knee to Baal.' Rom. 11:4
- What then? What Israel doth seek after, this it did not obtain, and the chosen did obtain, and the rest were hardened, Rom. 11:7
- for if the casting away of them is a reconciliation of the world, what the reception -- if not life out of the dead? Rom. 11:15
- and be not conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for your proving what is the will of God -- the good, and acceptable, and perfect. Rom. 12:2
- For I say, through the grace that was given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think above what it behoveth to think; but to think so as to think wisely, as to each God did deal a measure of faith, Rom. 12:3
- Thou hast faith! to thyself have it before God; happy is he who is not judging himself in what he doth approve, Rom. 14:22
- but, according as it hath been written, `What eye did not see, and ear did not hear, and upon the heart of man came not up, what God did prepare for those loving Him --' 1 Cor. 2:9
- of each the work shall become manifest, for the day shall declare it, because in fire it is revealed, and the work of each, what kind it is, the fire shall prove; 1 Cor. 3:13
- for who doth make thee to differ? and what hast thou, that thou didst not receive? and if thou didst also receive, why dost thou glory as not having received? 1 Cor. 4:7
- what do ye wish? with a rod shall I come unto you, or in love, with a spirit also of meekness? 1 Cor. 4:21
- for what have I also those without to judge? those within do ye not judge? 1 Cor. 5:12
- for what, hast thou known, O wife, whether the husband thou shalt save? or what, hast thou known, O husband, whether the wife thou shalt save? 1 Cor. 7:16
- and if any one doth think it to be unseemly to his virgin, if she may be beyond the bloom of age, and it ought so to be, what he willeth let him do; he doth not sin -- let him marry. 1 Cor. 7:36
- What, then, is my reward? -- that proclaiming good news, without charge I shall make the good news of the Christ, not to abuse my authority in the good news; 1 Cor. 9:18
- No temptation hath taken you -- except human; and God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able, but He will make, with the temptation, also the outlet, for your being able to bear it. 1 Cor. 10:13
- as to wise men I speak -- judge ye what I say: 1 Cor. 10:15
- what then do I say? that an idol is anything? or that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything? -- 1 Cor. 10:19
- why, have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or the assembly of God do ye despise, and shame those not having? what may I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I do not praise! 1 Cor. 11:22
- And now, brethren, if I may come unto you speaking tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophesying, or in teaching? 1 Cor. 14:6
- What then is it? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing psalms with the spirit, and I will sing psalms also with the understanding; 1 Cor. 14:15
- since, if thou mayest bless with the spirit, he who is filling the place of the unlearned, how shall he say the Amen at thy giving of thanks, since what thou dost say he hath not known? 1 Cor. 14:16
- What then is it, brethren? whenever ye may come together, each of you hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation? let all things be for building up; 1 Cor. 14:26
- through which also ye are being saved, in what words I proclaimed good news to you, if ye hold fast, except ye did believe in vain, 1 Cor. 15:2
- for I delivered to you first, what also I did receive, that Christ died for our sins, according to the Writings, 1 Cor. 15:3
- and by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace that is towards me came not in vain, but more abundantly than they all did I labour, yet not I, but the grace of God that is with me; 1 Cor. 15:10
- Seeing what shall they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? why also are they baptized for the dead? 1 Cor. 15:29
- if after the manner of a man with wild beasts I fought in Ephesus, what the advantage to me if the dead do not rise? let us eat and drink, for to-morrow we die! 1 Cor. 15:32
- unwise! thou -- what thou dost sow is not quickened except it may die; 1 Cor. 15:36
- for no other things do we write to you, but what ye either do read or also acknowledge, and I hope that also unto the end ye shall acknowledge, 2 Cor. 1:13
- Become not yoked with others -- unbelievers, for what partaking is there to righteousness and lawlessness? 2 Cor. 6:14
- and what fellowship to light with darkness? and what concord to Christ with Belial? or what part to a believer with an unbeliever? 2 Cor. 6:15
- and what agreement to the sanctuary of God with idols? for ye are a sanctuary of the living God, according as God said -- `I will dwell in them, and will walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people, 2 Cor. 6:16
- and what I do, I also will do, that I may cut off the occasion of those wishing an occasion, that in that which they boast they may be found according as we also; 2 Cor. 11:12
- for if I may wish to boast, I shall not be a fool, for truth I will say; but I forebear, lest any one in regard to me may think anything above what he doth see me, or doth hear anything of me; 2 Cor. 12:6
- for what is there in which ye were inferior to the rest of the assemblies, except that I myself was not a burden to you? forgive me this injustice! 2 Cor. 12:13
- but even if we or a messenger out of heaven may proclaim good news to you different from what we did proclaim to you -- anathema let him be! Gal. 1:8
- as we have said before, and now say again, If any one to you may proclaim good news different from what ye did receive -- anathema let him be! Gal. 1:9
- what then was your happiness? for I testify to you, that if possible, your eyes having plucked out, ye would have given to me; Gal. 4:15
- and it is good to be zealously regarded, in what is good, at all times, and not only in my being present with you; Gal. 4:18

- the eyes of your understanding being enlightened, for your knowing what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, Eph. 1:18

- and to cause all to see what is the fellowship of the secret that hath been hid from the ages in God, who the all things did create by Jesus Christ, Eph. 3:9
- that ye may be in strength to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, Eph. 3:18
- and to Him who is able above all things to do exceeding abundantly what we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us, Eph. 3:20
- and that, he went up, what is it except that he also went down first to the lower parts of the earth? Eph. 4:9
- Let no corrupt word out of your mouth go forth, but what is good unto the needful building up, that it may give grace to the hearers; Eph. 4:29
- proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord, Eph. 5:10
- because of this become not fools, but -- understanding what is the will of the Lord, Eph. 5:17
- And that ye may know -- ye also -- the things concerning me -- what I do, all things make known to you shall Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful ministrant in the Lord, Eph. 6:21
- what then? in every way, whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is proclaimed -- and in this I rejoice, yea, and shall rejoice. Phil. 1:18
- And if to live in the flesh is to me a fruit of work, then what shall I choose? I know not; Phil. 1:22
- that in the name of Jesus every knee may bow -- of heavenlies, and earthlies, and what are under the earth -- Phil. 2:10
- But what things were to me gains, these I have counted, because of the Christ, loss; Phil. 3:7
- but to what we have come -- by the same rule walk, the same thing think; Phil. 3:16
- to whom God did will to make known what is the riches of the glory of this secret among the nations -- which is Christ in you, the hope of the glory, Col. 1:27
- and he who is doing unrighteously shall receive what he did unrighteously, and there is no acceptance of persons. Col. 3:25
- because our good news did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance, even as ye have known of what sort we became among you because of you, 1 Th. 1:5

- And what shall I yet say? for the time will fail me recounting about Gideon, Barak also, and Samson, and Jephthah, David also, and Samuel, and the prophets, Heb. 11:32

- for what renown is it, if sinning and being buffeted, ye do endure it? but if, doing good and suffering for it, ye do endure, this is gracious with God, 1 Pet. 2:20

- See ye what love the Father hath given to us, that children of God we may be called; because of this the world doth not know us, because it did not know Him; 1 Jn. 3:1
- beloved, now, children of God are we, and it was not yet manifested what we shall be, and we have known that if he may be manifested, like him we shall be, because we shall see him as he is; 1 Jn. 3:2

- `I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last;' and, `What thou dost see, write in a scroll, and send to the seven assemblies that are in Asia; to Ephesus, and to Smyrna, and to Pergamos, and to Thyatira, and to Sardis, and to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.' Rev. 1:11
- He who is having an ear -- let him hear what the Spirit saith to the assemblies: To him who is overcoming -- I will give to him to eat of the tree of life that is in the midst of the paradise of God. Rev. 2:7
