THE HOLY BIBLE Authorized King James

Matthew (Author Matthew)

8:24And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.

8:25And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.

8:26And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

8:27But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

8:28And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.

8:29And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

8:30And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.

8:31So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.

8:32And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.

14:22And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.

14:23And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

14:24But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.

14:25And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

14:26And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.

14:27But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

14:28And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.

14:29And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.

14:30But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.

14:31And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

14:32And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

14:33Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

17:27Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
