THE HOLY BIBLE Authorized King James

Deuteronomy (Author Moses)

33:29Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

Job (Author Job and/or Moses)

5:17Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

5:18For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.

5:19He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.

5:20In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.

5:21Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.

5:22At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.

5:23For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.

5:24And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.

5:25Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.

5:26Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.

5:27Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.

Psalms (Author Moses, David, Solomon, Asaph, Heman, Ethan, sons of Korah, compiled by Ezra)

36:8They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

40:8I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

63:5My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:

128:1Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

128:2For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

133:1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

144:15Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD.

146:5Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:

Proverbs (Author Solomon)

3:13Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

3:14For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

3:15She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.

3:16Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

3:17Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.

3:18She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.

14:21He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

16:20He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

28:14Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

29:18Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Ecclesiastes (Author Solomon)

2:24There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.

2:25For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?

2:26For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God. This also is vanity and vexation of spirit.

3:12I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

3:13And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

3:22Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

Isaiah (Author Isaiah)

12:2Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

12:3Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.

Matthew (Author Matthew)

5:3Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

5:4Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5:5Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

5:6Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

5:7Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

5:8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

5:9Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

5:10Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

5:11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

5:12Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Romans (Author Paul)

5:2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

2 Corinthians (Author Paul)

12:10Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Philippians (Author Paul)

4:7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

1 Peter (Author Peter)

3:14But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

4:12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

4:13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
