THE HOLY BIBLE Authorized King James

Psalms (Author Moses, David, Solomon, Asaph, Heman, Ethan, sons of Korah, compiled by Ezra)

102:14For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.

122:6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

122:9Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.

128:5The LORD shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.

128:6Yea, thou shalt see thy children's children, and peace upon Israel.

137:1By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

137:2We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

137:3For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

137:4How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?

137:5If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

137:6If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

Isaiah (Author Isaiah)

22:4Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people.

58:12And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

62:1For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.

62:6I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,

62:7And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

66:10Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

66:13As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.

66:14And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

Jeremiah (Author Jeremiah)

9:1Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

14:17Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.

51:50Ye that have escaped the sword, go away, stand not still: remember the LORD afar off, and let Jerusalem come into your mind.

51:51We are confounded, because we have heard reproach: shame hath covered our faces: for strangers are come into the sanctuaries of the LORD'S house.

Lamentations (Author Jeremiah)

2:11Mine eyes do fail with tears, my bowels are troubled, my liver is poured upon the earth, for the destruction of the daughter of my people; because the children and the sucklings swoon in the streets of the city.

3:48Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

3:49Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

3:50Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

3:51Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
